I've never understood the motivation behind aesthetically modifying a car to the point of it being nearly useless, but I appreciate the talent that went into making this one. And as long as the owner enjoys it, that's all that matters.
Agreed. I saw a video of a car " restoration" and what they were doing was putting in non authentic parts till it was not representative of the original classic car at all. I would thing the value of such a car would go down alot because anyone buying it would not be getting the real deal
It’s not useless! It’s a cruiser, like a low rider. Just something to have fun in on the weekends and at car shows. I’m pretty sure these guys have other cars that they as daily drivers or for functionality. You have to be a “car guy” to appreciate the skill, artistry, time and effort that it takes to fabricate and produce something like this; then again you don’t bcuz regular people who are not necessarily “car enthusiasts” appreciate these as well. When a guy modifies a car, such as body kits, performance or a cool paint job, he’s putting his own personality into it. Once again, this is a just a toy, something to have fun cruising in besides the norm and also an eye catcher as well as a conversation piece, that’s all. C’mon, lighten up folks! 🤷🏽♂️
My mom had a Lincoln continental when I was a kid back in the 80s it was silver with maroon soft fabric seats it was nice this video made me think of it 👍🏼
If he drove that where I am there'd be a shower of sparks every pothole and drain cover. We'd be placing bets on how far he can get, a few miles maybe.
The original design of that car is to die for; Wide, Long, Spacious, Excessive, Massive trunk, Simple but elegant styling, Crazy uniqueness, and best of all, TIMELESS!
My grandma on my mom's side had a couple of those..she lived on top of a little mountain and had to drive up a windy dirt road to get home, potholes and all. She was badass. She liked big cars..made her feel safe.😁😆
In Sweden im sure we have more old american cars per capita than you do. Their all over the place, well from spring to fall atleast. But their pretty damn far away from being as big as our trucks, wich are quite standard size all over europe. Main difference witch american trucks is we have total allowed lenghts thats why our cabins are on top of the engine to allow for more loading space. But if uou cut the hood of a peterbuilt It aint much difference from a Swedish made one in size.
The body lines atop the fenders were more rounded as well. 'The Car' is the reason that I clicked this video though. It's good to know there are other fans out there
Amazing car, 50mm more ground clearance and I'd like to own it one day. Fantastic look and sound, yet crying out to be raised just a *bit*. Didn't read the description before writing this, does it have air ride? if not, it needs it. Still an awesome machine, should be preserved forever.
If you listen very closely, you can hear him hit the air switch twice and raise it ever so subtly to make sure he has clearance when he drives up on the uneven brick paved part.
I'm longing back to those good old V8 ( and some V6 ) sounds. This lincoln, the Cadillac Eldorado, Chevrolet Constantia, Ford Cortina XR6, Ford Granada, Ford Ranchero V8, etc. The only recent car with a sound that gives you goosebumps is the 2008 Chrysler Grand Cherokee SRT8, with those central exhaust pipes.
I love seeing old American cars in Europe. Curious as to how you made the 462 cubic inch engine what was your starting point and what did you do to it?
462 was the factory engine displacement in Lincolns 1966 thru mid 1968. It's the end of the MEL (Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln) engine design introduced in 1958. The MEL was also made in 383, 410, and 430 displacements.
Ford really needs to do a modern version of this like they did with the GT40/Ford GT. BIG block & big power, suicide doors, higher backed seats, and low to the ground.
I've never understood the motivation behind aesthetically modifying a car to the point of it being nearly useless, but I appreciate the talent that went into making this one. And as long as the owner enjoys it, that's all that matters.
I’m with ya
Yeah I’ve been sayin that a long time now.. the rat rod thing is absurd as well… so is patina… & that Lincoln looks like shit

Nah,this is bigger👌
They both scrape land too much

✔️ Yeah, and both the Suez canal cargo ship, AND ^this "cargo ship" will require large tugboats to "dislodge them" when they get stuck!

That car has to be bagged. I bet he can lift that Link when he needs to.
Oh that must be in Chicago right
Do you live in Germany too?
Ya those ghetto wheels and rubber band tires lol

Facts!
My grandpa was on the design team!! Luxury ergonomics was his thing. Very cool.
"The Car" is alive and well!
Look closer, the car was made out of a 71 mark 3, this is a mark 2
great movie btw
@G-Shack 1970 dude it was late 70's, early 80s when that movie was made and it scared the shit out of me as a kid, now its a cult classic
I never thought I'd say a vinyl top looked good on this side of the 70'z. Beautiful car.
You never lied! I do not like vinyl tops but this is smooth. What year is this Lincoln
i think the most impressive part is that this was in the Netherlands.
It sweet as fuck doe lol

Coolest car ever beautiful work guys
Motor must be loud to make the sound of scratching metal on the ground disappear...
Good one. Luvved it.
God what a beutiful car. I love how you actually record the sound of the motor. Most videos dont do the sound, you do. its great!
I always loved the old school Lincolns, massive cars but they just look like an old school mobster should be getting out of them.
Got to love a bad ass Ford and there's only one color to paint a badass Ford I think you got this ride right all the way around hats off to you 😎

And thay ruined picture of very low car :D
Epic stunt
Haha, I was looking for the comment that addressed this
Normally I hate when someone bastardizes a classic, but DAMN that looks good!!!
You what they say. It is not what you do, it's how you do it.
Looks Wicked and Wild! Like the movie "THE CAR"
that's it, i knew i seen this car somewhere. now the aggressive chop makes sense.
I scrolled down the comments looking for this comment!! And yes, it does bring back memories of that movie !
Brilliant, exterior makes a beautiful car even cooler. Love that Zebra skin as well, looks like the one on my wall.
What do you mean by Zebra skin? Explain please!

Looks like what my neighbor drove back then. Straight up badass.
I have a 1977 Lincoln continental. You just gave me a lot of good ideas. Thank you.
Man, this Lincoln dwarfs everything on those European streets. Including some trucks!
to be fair, it would dwarf most of the stuff on american streets nowadays, too... How long is it? 900ft?

When a Lincoln looked like a Lincoln... That is a cool-looking mod.
Love how ppl take the original design and put their own spin on it and make it their own.
When your car eats more fuel with 1 turn than other cars at 100km. :D Beautiful machine.
Cool ending with the bonus photos. Nice
Love the outside, hate the inside and it needs airbags in front for getting in and out of driveways.
Outside= outstanding interior= tacky as fuck.
It's a classic
Looks and sounds bad ass 👍
Beautiful..very smooth. Tiger print interior with original design, and hike up the height a little more.

Why mess with perfection?
This ride was perfect from the factory
