Well, if the new tractor does the job and it is tens of thousands cheaper, then yes, you did do the right thing. Less costs means bigger profits. I hope the tractor serves you well. There is absolutely nothing wrong with John Deere tractors, but from watching many RUclips channels, the impression that I consistently get is that that they are very much a company that focuses on the 'me' and very little on the 'you'. I.e., it's all about them and little about the customer. I could be wrong of course, but if I were in the market for a tractor, the last dealership I would likely visit is the John Deere one. That's already not a good impression they are giving out.
Hi Will just joined your channel after watching you on Josh's channel (JM Farming). Really enjoyed the Podcast and hearing about your farming journey. Regarding your choice of tractor and the reasons for that choice, I would support the choice, and if I am being honest, JD as a company are being coming very focused on themselves and not their customers, in particular with reducing their support/dealer network. They build good kit but have mixed reviews regarding their network. Wish you every success with the tractor and you have gained a new subscriber.
Like yourself we changed from green to blue and I can say getting on every bit as well with NH in fact has been more reliable , also saved some money .
Can’t believe it’s nearly lambing time already it doesn’t seem like 5 minutes since the last time, I bet the sheep are glad to be in out the wet & cold weather especially because they are all pregnant 😊
Looks good, Will. It will be interesting to see if the maintenance is easier, cheaper; and durability is improved over previously owned tractors. Time will tell.
It’s the after sale value what gets you… if you have to change back… it’ll become a big step… hopefully still does a good job… but I think I’d of stayed green…awesome bits of kit the new m series deeres..
We still have 4 JD’s 30/10 series. Which we believe are the best they ever made. Just for this specific tractor that gets swapped every 3 years it was a bit of a no brainer I’d 90% of its work is on the road delivering. Doesn’t need to be anything fancy. I’d argue about the M series having had one 😂 much rather drive the 6930 any day.
@@CowleyHillFarm range command .......3 ranges a b c ......6 gears in each range ...........reverts to the b range when you use reverse and will reverse in the b range only .....have a 8160 nh here with that gearbox been out a long time now and is reliable ....
Howdy, This is my husband's Mrs. I enjoy your videos! As my husband is a JD tractor mechanic for close to 49 years, getting anything other than a John Deere is your greatest mistake. After the newness has worn off, you will miss your John Deere. Cheaper doesn't mean better. Sorry, but green is better! Enjoy the moment.
Hi Robert, I agree in terms of cheaper isnt better. But in terms of a range of things. Our local JD dealer is now an hour away. Two NH with 20-30 mins. For back up. Including the old JD dealer now sells NH. This tractor will be mainly a road tractor delivering fodder and collecting muck so doesn’t need to be anything fancy. An approx 20k difference in price for the equivalent tractor for something that’ll do the same job. It’ll be swapped after 3 years. So as a business nearly 7k a year could mean we can invest elsewhere.
Tractors so many about these days different h p / specification best to go for one with the h p you require plus a bit more and one that can do the jobs you require of it. Plus dealer back up very important as you carn’t afford it to be stood long
Dear Sir, your video quality is really Very good but your views are very low, if you want I can give you some tips. How to increase your channel's video views.
You got it dirty! Also those sheep walked into that shed suspiciously well!
Haha good dog 😉😉
The sheep looked pretty excited to try out that fresh bedding. A new tractor is always a wonderful addition. 👍😊👍
Thanks 👍
Blue is a lovely color! They are WAY too proud of those John Deeres and working on them is expensive as well.
I agree!
Good video Will very nice tractor wish you all good health to enjoy 👍
It's a thing of beauty and it's always great to get a good equipment fit on a farm.

I agree I think they’re going that way
Tractor looks good. You will find out in time whether its right decision or not when you working it and how it performs. Good luck with it.

You've been converted from green to blue😮
Haha 😂
Is mechanical George happy?
Haha that’s a sore point….
what gearbox .......rangecommand ....?
I think so…. Not 100% on all the NH lingo yet

Dealers work harder if you are changeing colour like for like think you will automatically go for theirs
Fendt? Yeah of course you were. Lol
We Demod a Fendt for a drive as well as NH. If I’m honest the Fendt was pretty much the same price as the JD to put it into perspective
6 cylinder?
Yep forgot to mention that. 6 cylinder engine. Will go through more details in videos to come if what I forgot

We respect your decision. How fortunate to get to swap out tractors in three years time! Thank you for farming, you are needed! ❤👍🐑@@CowleyHillFarm
Not way feed nuts should in clean trought go serarching down through halage and eating anything could cause minigites dont agree at all
That’s why we feed rolls not nuts👌 extra large so they can’t be trodden in

What daily ration are the triplets getting?
3 weeks out they’re on 660g a day after analysing the haylage

John Deeres are overrated
