Honestly wouldn’t be a bad premise, even for the spin-off shows. Considering Patrick’s only and especially unsettling role in this fever dream episode, I’d probably place it in his show. Maybe Patrick used to own the locker before Mr Krabs, and whatever the heck Pat used it for was what made the locker prone to causing hallucinations (since Krabs found a skeleton in the dang thing upon opening it).
And the fact it's the same size as Mr. Krabs who is the size of a real crab. What human skeleton is that small? I don't think even infants have skeletons that small.
I did not remember this episode of SpongeBob so trippy. Great video I enjoyed the possible theories about Clarinetland, and the hallucinations as well!
I love this episode, it's like the Random Dimension or something, and yes I agree it is unpredictable and weird, like Squidward chasing Spongebob in space somehow, and it's all weirdly connected. I feel like newer episodes try to capture this weirdness but fail since Spongebob and Patrick are so aged down and braindead that it's not even funny anymore
Man i always felt extra bad for Squidward this episode. Went into his typical crappy job all optimistic looking forward to his recital, then ends up in some lcd liminal space. Actually thinking about it this episode feels really backroomsy. Did SpongeBob originate backrooms?
I remember this episode being voted as one of the worst for some time for the following reasons; people hated the weird imagery, hated Squidward being stressed by creepy/bad era SpongeBob, couldn’t stand the SpongeBob laughs here, and obviously weren’t fond of the ending. I don’t think it’s one of the worst but it’s smacked right in the middle of the gross experimental flanderized era of SpongeBob so I think that’s why people didn’t like it then
I was already a 10/10 concerned when the locker was expanded at all, that seems paranormal and impossible. This isn’t the monsters inc world with doors
Ngl but this was kinda on squidward even though the universe was testing him he should've taken the clarinet out as soon as spongebob reninvated the locker I mean come on you see a man violate the laws of 3 dimensionial space by having an object be bigger on the inside then it is on the outside and dont even question it
I have a theory. Maybe whatever made squidward trip and fall asleep in that locker is the same thing that happened to the first dude, except no one found and saved him, so he died and became a skeleton. Only difference is squidward had SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs looking for him.
I always had mixed feelings about this episode. On one hand, I dislike it greatly. I think the random disjointed style of writing is pretentious at best and lazy at worst. I never liked the artsy surrealist routes TV shows would sometimes take. That being said, I remember generally liking the first half of the episode. Specifically the interior of the locker and the filing cabinets. This was YEARS before the Backrooms and liminal space hype took off, and yet, I got the same visceral desire to explore then that I do now. A nonsensical maze of filing cabinets, illogically compiled into the small space of a locker, defying physics and reason. One of the filing cabinets is a tunnel that leads to some stage-looking room with curtains. All very intriguing. The land of Clarinets is kind of cool, but then the eagle head and following dream sequence lost me. The eerie horror of getting lost in the filing cabinet rooms is so charming to me. And the echo of Spongebob's laughter and the visual of him running through the corridors at random without seeing his face is chilling. THAT is the aspect of the episode that stuck with me. All in all, I'm mixed on the episode. It's too nonsensical and the surrealism is just pretentious, however, I can't help but admire the proto liminal space exploration in this episode, years before the trend took off. In that sense, the episode was ahead of its time.
I wrote this comment a minute before he brought up that this episode parodies Alice in Wonderland. In which case, I take back what I wrote. If the writers actually had a vision to spoof Alice in Wonderland, then I don't want to call the episode lazy or accuse the writing of being lazy. I mean... I still personally think the randomness is lazy. But at least they were trying to emulate classic literature rather than regurgitate disjointed ideas into a blender.
Bro this episode both confused and terrified me when i was a child.
bro did research to figure out if soap is toxic to fish

These are the questions we think at night.
I have fish and I can confirm yes it is and if u ever get a pet fish DONT wash the tank out with soap
given how Spongebob recently has been more experimental with its episode I would love a prequel on how Krabs got the trippy locker.
Honestly wouldn’t be a bad premise, even for the spin-off shows.

I did not know soap was toxic to fish you learn something new everyday
Makes me think of the making fun of Sandy episode and he makes fun of fish "what is soap" joke.
@@XYGamingRemedyG And spongebob saying “Don’t drop em!”
Psychotic break from all the anger lol
I think Squidward is bi-polar or schizo! He went extremely happy to extremely angry then prolly passed out from all that happiness/ anger.
This was the trippiest thing in the tripping world
I love this ep. That eagle head was so weird
The fact that the skeleton in the locker is a HUMAN sketelon scares me
And the fact it's the same size as Mr. Krabs who is the size of a real crab. What human skeleton is that small? I don't think even infants have skeletons that small.

For the life of me, I cannot remember the last part
One of my favourite episodes 😂😭😭solid proof that people over exaggerate on how bad SpongeBob got post-season 3
