The best part being how the freakin' cinematography and editing gives the viewer the impression that the robot is here to KILL Paulie, rather than bringing him his cake.
I love Family Guy but I saw Rocky 4 way before that episode so I immediately got the reference and almost died from laughter! This is the most random moment in major modern motion picture history LOL.
Hahah me and my buddy never get enouhg of watching this. A few years ago we made joke about "happy birthday paulie" when we were talking about Rocky. To this day its still funny to us. I love Rocky!
Robots were what every kid wanted back then every sears catalog Christmas section had them. The original Nintendo came With one. Shocked so many rag on it as a kid that movie was the best to me it had everything.
The fact they no-sale this robot is insane. There is a true story behind the robot, but for the average movie-goer, this thing comes out of nowhere, is not referenced after this film and has no part in any of the later movies. Ah the 80's!
It's my birthday today and I'm not good with public speeches and I have anxiety, so when they took the cake out got me on camera and sang happy birthday I froze and when they said make a wish I quoted Paulie and said "I wish I wasn't in this nightmare" everyone laughed
i love how the robot says HAPPYBIRTHDAYPAULIE very fast and in a robotic voice. Also the look on Apollo Creeds face when he first sees it when he is arguing his case to Rocky about fighting Drago is also a classic scene.
the robot is actually a good analogy on how much rocky doesn't know what a good present is in terms of money stuff like in rocky3, its good that you can imagine him going to a store and be like, whats the most expensive most advanced thing and didnt ask what it was and just bought it
I do agree on how it emphasizes the point of how impulsive and frivolous Rocky is when it comes to money. It's something that has been established since the second film, and plays directly into the fifth movie, where Rocky ends up having to sell his house, and most of his belongings. That being said, they really should've just had Rocky give Paulie that sports car he wanted.
Now that this has been removed in the directors cut, I can actually enjoy this and laugh at it without being annoyed it made it into the final cut. lol
Your right, popularity doesnt always correlate with quality, but it does correlate with entertainment. And that's why people watch television right? For Entertainment. Some shows that are considered quality can lack this entertainment aspect, which is an esential part of why someone watches a show.
i can't believe people are hating on the 80s "techy" music. I'd bet it gets sampled in 5 years or less if it hasn't already. it could be made into some really pumping, modern sounding shit--but still with that retro feel. hell, if i knew how to do it, i'd make one myslef.
wtf? after just having gotten round to watching the first rocky, someone i was talking to about it dropped in the fact that was a robot butler later in the series and i had to see it to believe it, such an alien idea... i mean i know the 1st film was a bit quirky with the numerous conversations rocky has with various animals, but i just didnt see this coming...
Whoever wrote this into the script is a genius
В режиссёрской версии он его вырезал. 2021
The best part being how the freakin' cinematography and editing gives the viewer the impression that the robot is here to KILL Paulie, rather than bringing him his cake.
"HappybirthdayPaulie" LMAO it never stops being funny
Ikr
Has there ever been a bigger wtf moment in the history of films then this?
no
Godzilla00X It such a weird thing. It wasn't meant as a joke, but it's so fucking weird and just stops everything.
Than
was surprising to see this kind of bs in a rocky movie
The entire human centipede series
Stewie get all these crappy 80s movie robots out of here!
Yes
HappyBirthdayPaulie
I'm confused... Is the music coming from the robot?
+dekai nekonami it farts music
Yes its diagenic music. Comes from the robot's ass. The robot's ass. His ass, I mean. It never stops.
I need that song playing in the background lmao
"I wish I wasn't in this nightmare!"
Hahaha
It was the 80's. We were shoving robots into everything.
+9_Bucks Hey, don't forget the 90s too, with robots like Alpha 5.
+Angie2343 and johnny 5 (but thats 80s)
+Gabe _0 Conky 2000 is 1980s too! =D
"Robots here, robots there, robots every fucking where! "
Exactly. And they're here in real life too.
This might be the best scene in cinematic HISTORY!!!... I may be a little overly generous with that statement
I DON'T REMEMBER THIS SCENE AT ALL
This was the second greatest scene of rocky 4. The other was when Rocky ended the cold war.
That’s your brain doing it’s job.
@@karmatt3098 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Paulie is such a great character....his presence in the Rocky movies is often overlooked, but he was really such a central character to the story.
I just saw this in Family Guy
I love Family Guy but I saw Rocky 4 way before that episode so I immediately got the reference and almost died from laughter! This is the most random moment in major modern motion picture history LOL.
mrExcellent101 Brian’s look of half-fear/bewilderment is really well done.
Family Guy brought me here. XD
ANGELILYworks TRUE SAME

Omg me too xD

If you listen very closely, you can hear the exact moment when this Oscar-winning franchise lost all credibility.
No that happened in part 3 when Rocky "fought" Thunderlips.
Found the Russian
Rocky 4 was actually okay.
M.A. Moreno It didn't happen in Rocky 3? When he fought Hulk Hogan?
M.A. Moreno you must mean rocky 5
....that fucking melody
the music
80s dubstep / 80s robots
Probably one of the most pointless and random moments ive ever scene in a movie xD when i saw it in family guy i cried from laughter xD
This is some kind of sleep paralysis nightmare.
R.I.P. burt young. You were great as Paulie.
The intro music cracks me up HAHA
always loved how he says happy birthday paulie in rythm with the music
This redefines jumping the shark
'I wish I wasn't in this nightmare'
hahaha Paulie's quality!
I want a director's cut with the robot
Pyro: Happy birthday paulie
watched rocky 4 the other day and forgot all about this scene. the best rocky movie
How can you not love Paulie's robot.
Hahah me and my buddy never get enouhg of watching this. A few years ago we made joke about "happy birthday paulie" when we were talking about Rocky. To this day its still funny to us. I love Rocky!

lol the song makes it all come together EPIC
A true classic.
"I wanted a sports car for my birthday, not a walking trashcan." SAVAGE LIFE
Robots were what every kid wanted back then every sears catalog Christmas section had them. The original Nintendo came

The fact they no-sale this robot is insane. There is a true story behind the robot, but for the average movie-goer, this thing comes out of nowhere, is not referenced after this film and has no part in any of the later movies.
Ah the 80's!
Seriously where the fuck would Rocky just get a robot that complex in the 80's!?
Hard to say. He did have a lot of money
get these 80's movie robots out of here!
You're racist.
AVGN brought me back here but watching this as a kid initially did.
The robot is capable of perfectly replicating the speech of a sexy woman yet it ships default with the speak and spell voice.
It's my birthday today and I'm not good with public speeches and I have anxiety, so when they took the cake out got me on camera and sang happy birthday I froze and when they said make a wish I quoted Paulie and said "I wish I wasn't in this nightmare" everyone laughed
They way it says happy birthday cracks me up. Then that synth comes in. Brilliant
HE'S ROLLING IN 😲
I love that little tune that starts playing.
First time i was molested was while watching this movie! Memories...
You're welcome!
Wtf
you are the best person ever for posting this
Pyro Coe Banter!
This still cracks me up in 2021
Bring back the robot in the next movie!
such a awesome tune
i love how the robot says HAPPYBIRTHDAYPAULIE very fast and in a robotic voice. Also the look on Apollo Creeds face when he first sees it when he is arguing his case to Rocky about fighting Drago is also a classic scene.
I love the music that plays. So eighties.
This makes rocky iv more like a sci-fi boxing movie and less real.
i didi 2 i jus came on family guy...i was LMAO rofl cause of the song n happy birthday paulie...love fam guy
the robot is actually a good analogy on how much rocky doesn't know what a good present is in terms of money stuff like in rocky3, its good that you can imagine him going to a store and be like, whats the most expensive most advanced thing and didnt ask what it was and just bought it

Goddamit Muta, the robot is EPIC
Came from family guy. But that music is actually cool, wish there where more.
hans lund It's actually Italo-Disco style music, in which robots featured heavily in performances and music videos.
Yo family guy fucking NAILED this
Every time I see the scene in Family Guy where they do this, I have to watch the original scene.
family guy got me here. XD
I love the robot's music.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAULIE ROFL. Yeah and Family guy brought me here too!
Love that, spotlights glowing in the darkness..doing the ol Terminator scan, and then just "Happy Birthday Paulie"
Lmao
SCANNING... SUBJECT ASSESSED... 5'4"... 240 LBS... 47.3% BODY FAT... BONE ANALYSIS REVEALS ONSET OSTEOPOROSIS... IMMOBILE... NON-THREAT. DO NOT TERMINATE
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAULIE"
Shame on Stallone for deleting the robot from the Director's Cut. Those scenes were funny!
Rocky 4 is pure KINO
lol i like the 'happy birthday paulie' part followed by the super retro music lol
Now that this has been removed in the directors cut, I can actually enjoy this and laugh at it without being annoyed it made it into the final cut. lol
this has gotta be the biggest WTF moment in the entire Rocky saga.
Really wish i could get an extended version of the music
"Okay listen, I know you got this movie thing almost done but I got this guy who has this robot and you're gonna love it"
Damn this is Wholesome Scene.
the editing of this shit fucking kills me
2nd greatest video ever!

only if I could have a robot for my birthday
+Amber Abbott Me too!
Ambsx Me,too,bud. Me,too.
Paulie is very hard work but here, I am totally on his side.
The "happy birthday Paulie" Actually fits with the beat of the song, thats what made this so funny.
The ominous music makes it hilarious.
I always remember Rocky IV as "The one with the robot."
Anybody know the song that's playing in the background?
My GOOOOOOOOD! The technology in this video is at least 500 years advanced to what we have in 2011!
Love her
This is a total Kooky moment and I love it
wtf? after just having gotten round to watching the first rocky, someone i was talking to about it dropped in the fact that was a robot butler later in the series and i had to see it to believe it, such an alien idea...
i mean i know the 1st film was a bit quirky with the numerous conversations rocky has with various animals, but i just didnt see this coming...
