Great video! I built a set of eBay Skip White 210cc SBF heads for my nephews 418-W. I used a lot of your porting techniques that you’ve explained on your videos and my goodness he’s killing it out on the streets. I built the cylinder heads and his father built the short block and dose all of the tuning. It’s a N/A motor, hydraulic roller cam, flat top pistons, and it went 10.42 in the 1/4 mile in a 3200 pound car on E85. Thanks for all of your help.
A high dollar CNC head company could make a (KILLING) offering a scan/port service for those who wish to do porting etc. What i mean is this... You get a set of heads you wish to port. You work on just (ONE SINGLE INTAKE/EXHAUST PORT) and when you have it exactly like you wish, you send the heads to a company that scans your port work and cnc the rest of your port so you would have a exact copy of work for each and every I/E port of the head based off your one single port work. They make money for their time/equipment, you get the best by having your work and dedication copied to the rest of your head without having to do each one by hand because no hand porting will ever be exact port to port. It would be a win/win! If KMJ etc was "SMART" they would send you a head to do a port on, have you send it back, scan it, the cnc port all their heads or make an exact copy of yours to cast for future heads and flow.
There are companies that do this and you’re right they make a killing but the head porter makes almost nothing after shipping and doing final valve job. I’ve looked into it unless you pimp your stuff you will not make that much money.
@@WeingartnerRacing Not about making money... I am saying for a single person, person to person. so you don't have to spend all day or weeks trying to repeat your porting to never be exact. A cnc machine can copy your port exact, make all the others exact, thus you will have a perfect balanced head based off their port. For themselves. KMJ should buy back that head off you, copy the port, and make heads cnc'd just like it. Or even a smooth permenent cast, it should flow the same if cast is smooth enough.
Eric....Proheader sbc heads Being a Dart Copy would the Jesel Shaft rockers Im running on a set of Dart Conquest fit on these proheaders? Ported a set 4 yrs ago and they certainly outflow what I have much smaller runner. Debating..
I did mild exaust porting on my wp sportsman heads pretty much all I did was smooth out the roof of the exaust port.and did a lot better job on the intake side...it's on 385" motor with 13.7 to 1 slugs and the valve moves ..615 ..my cam guy sold me on that big of a cam altho the flow chart says they.start loosing flow around 550 lift.watch the sales guys you'll end up with parasitic power loss from to much valve spring operation.and no power gains to support it
I agree with you 100% about Manley valves ...they will never flow air, until they change the shape of the topside of the valve, they're too flat and seat is too narrow, exactly what you pointed out. Great video, buy the weigh!!!
Love the videos! Have you ever played with surface finish and dyno testing on the intake side? Like to leave them dimpled up from the single cut carbide? Looks like hell and probably hurts airflow but is it worth power?
I'm wondering why all the extra work when it's choked with a Performer and 1 5/8 headers? Not trying to be a dink here, I'm just curious... seems like a lot of head for the "system"
I have been following you since you participated in the engine masters challenge and Steve Dulcich did an article on you in the Engine Masters magazine, which I wish was still being produced. Okay, thank you for this information. My question is which is more cost effective in your opinion. Purchase these inexpensive heads and send them to you to port and upgrade or purchase the TFS,AFR, or Brodix heads then send them to you. Most normal people have a price budget that they follow. Can you give an approximate price on both.
That was an incredible series, I do a lot with those heads. I just did a set for my buddies 406 blower motor I got the chambers out to 82cc's. Its a nice platform to work from. Especially the price !

Hey man, Have you ever messed with rim flow intake valves? Are they worth the time and effort?
I've been Running these heads on my forged turbocharged 383 with 280xfi cam . I port matched a single plain efi intake with 1266 gasket. Tons of run.
Great job !!!
Thanks.
What was the start intake cc volume vs finish cc?

Is possible to get that 300cfm mark with a 2.05 intake valve ???
Yes
Do you know by chance if the rocker stud spacing is exactly the same as a Dart platinum as well?
Eric....Proheader sbc heads

Have you had any experience with the kmj assault big block Chevy head's?
Will 205 valves make better difference vs 202 ? On street car
Yes as long as it is not too shrouded.
do you port import heas
No
Are you going to be selling ported versions of these?
MBE- don’t they deal with Mountain Motor Heads/Intakes ?
Yes and other high end heads. They are smart dudes.
No doubt, that’s what I thought.
What do you charge to port SBC heads .
$1000
Matt from MBE should hire you and buy all your equipment.
He doesn’t need my help he is very capable.
Is it too late to do the porting on one of the intake ports, leaving the 2.02 valve, and checking the flow?
Yes they are all cut to 2.08

Appreciate your guidance -- its about making more power and more flow is not always the answer.

Yah noticed on my heads that the inside of the pinch was like a wash board also

Anything worth doing is worth over doing. I’m also kind of curious to see what it does on the dyno.
I have a pair on a engine, Holley Strip Dominator intake, 850 DP, and 1 3/4 primary, 3 1/2 collectors on mine.
Your volume sucks. Turn it up please.
It is on the low side for the hearing impaired.
Wow!!! Never thought that head would turn out to be a contender for the big name brand heads. But in some ways it is better!!! Nice work.

Great question!!!! I would like to know this also.
@littlewarlock He has pricing on his website for the heads you asked about.

I enjoy your videos and the information keep up the good work my friend.
What would it cost to buy these heads with the same port work done to them from you sir.
Thanks for this Eric. I really appreciate it 👍
Awesome man!
