👍👍👍 I also use a version of the $40 kit and whilst I'm looking forward to upgrading to a precision brush I can do everything I need to, just not quite as smoothly lol Great vid, very sensible advice
I've been using one of these lately. I needed a 0.5 needle airbrush for priming. It works great for the cost. I also have a a couple of H&S brushes but this is my main workhorse now. It's not as nice as my H&S in craftsmanship. But for how I'm using it, it's perfect for the price. Yes. It's an Iwata clone.
Hey, great, informative vid. I'm just starting 3D modelling and painting and was looking at buying the Pinkiou gun as you recommended. However, I can't find any replacement needles etc. I'm in AUS. Where can I get them or can you recommend a similar, more readily available gun and parts?
Well, to be completely honest, you have a very long ways to go. Having had said that you clearly speak more languages than me and are doing a great job by continuing to practice and not being fearful of people saying things like what I am saying. I would say you were doing a great job even though it’s next to impossible to understand you right now. lol much love from America and great job on the video.
@@AlexMinis You do speak english with a strong accent but you speak it carefully and clearly and there's no barrier to understanding you at all. You're doing a great job because you take extra care to be understood
$300/£300 is my absolute limit for any airbrush. I have an Iwata Rev CR3 and an Eclipse Takumi plus three H&S airbrushes. All are great quality. However, all airbrushes leak air from the front ends ( including the Microns) On these quality airbrushes the leaking is controlled by either black rubber seals (H&S) or Rubber seals and sticky thread sealant ( Iwata). In my opinion some Iwatas are greatly overpriced and over hyped. So, dont forget to buy some thread sealant or bees wax for your micron....as well as a replacement big black rubber seal that sits inside just behind the head ( just like your cheap Chinese one) especially if you use solvents in it..... great accent and perfect English.
Thank you for the accent and the perfect English :D Yes I agree that's it's too much expensive Honestly I wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't for a video ^^
@@AlexMinis The entire front of the Creos PS-771 is interchangeable with the front end parts of the Iwata Micron (a few Micron owners actually prefer the 771 parts over the Iwata parts.) I have the Iwata eclipse and the 771 is much better at fine line stuff. I understand the "have enough" as I have 14 airbrushes but still find another new one enticing. (Just added a Gaalheri Mobius 0.2 and 0.3 to the collection recently.)
IWATA HP-CS is the only one anyone will ever need. I also have several expensive airbrushes and i regret them all. As i said the HP-CS is the only one anyone will ever need for miniature painting. I seriously have to get rid of my other ones...
I agree that it's a really good Airbrush but personally I like to have some airbrushes for specific tasks like undercoating to preserve the lost expensive one :)
@@AlexMinis that's why you can spray the miniature paints without any issues, when you go smaller in needle size you have to dilute more.....and get more clogs.
@4:10 That is called a Mac Valve and it's typically used to create Splatting effects on paintings. Not sure how helpful that would be in miniature painting.
Man this sounds so weird to hear you speak English when I'm used to hear you in French on ASMiniatures... I subscribed and I hope your foray into the English RUclips scene will be a success.
Did you tune and polish the needles of the cheaper airbrushes ? After some fettling and lubrication you will find the cheaper brushes will perform just as well as the more expensive models - it is a very simple mechanism with very little to go wrong - once finessed these cheaper models can produce great results - don't be fooled by stupid prices - they are not made of myrrh , it's all a marketing exercise - most of the problems arise from paint thinning , air pressure and poor cleaning..
No I didn't The airbrush is not magic and can remplace painting skills for sure, so Yes we can have great result with cheap aibrushes. I was thiking that too for many years, but now I see a difference in all these airbrushes. They can do a little bit more but not a big deal if you don't want to paint for competition, but in the usage, is like that between night and day
👍👍👍

Thank you very much 😁
I bought the Gaahleri air brush which I think is really good, especially considering the price and the warranty.
I didn't know this brand, seems pretty close to the Iwata copy at first glance haha
If you like it, it's the most important ! :)

In Australia you are really limited in what you can buy.. I suggest you to ask to a retailer of miniatures close of you
Great information and an epic accent ❤
Thanks !
French accent haha, I try my best to sound as good as I can :)

I would like to see your opinion after comparing the Mr Hobby/GSI Creos PS- 771 to your Iwata Micron.
Should be pretty similar to an $150 Iwata I think ;)
I have enough airbrush in my collection haha I do'nt think that I will buy an another one

You can never have too many of them. They all have a personality. Just collect them!
The Custom micron is 0,23 mm needle, in the CM-C version, 0,18 in the CM-B version...
Ha, I didn't know, I have de CM-C version ^^

I use it to don't have to adjust the pressure on the compressor :) Wich is good and prevent my head to hit the desk haha

Where did you buy it? It only cost $557.25.
In France if you go to the Iwata website, that what it cost :/

The Badger 100 series or the 150, brilliant, best value for money!!! 😂😂😂
I've never try a Badger Airbrush, maybe should I one day :)
Badger airbrushes are trash.
If you just starting the cheapest one will work may have a some issues later you can buy a better made airbrush. That is a fact.
Absolutely
