Hey Craig, Oregon Duck fan here. You and Spencer are my go to guys when it comes to news about the B1G and the Ducks. You both do a great job covering this conference. Enjoying following the B1G this year and in the years to come. Go Ducks!!!
Ducks fan here but I have to agree also. I've been confused about how the poll is treating the Hoosiers, BYU, and a couple others. Weird year for that.
We all know if it was michigan beating everyone on their schedule by double digits they would be top 5. Personally though i dont mind, keep that chip on our shoulders we just have to make a loud statement over the next 3 games
Nobody saw IU coming. Not being a traditional CFB powerhouse, IU has to overcome, not only the competition, but perception, prejudice and politics. My prediction is IU goes into the Shoe ranked in the top 10 with a 10-0 record. A win there will silence all the "weak schedule" talk. I'm not an IU fan but would like to see them make the playoffs.
@vnvet2282 i get that but the whole "weak schedule" to me is lame. Now if IU was winning on last second plays or came from behind then ok weak schedule fair enough but thats not whats happeninh at all. The are destroying teams. OSU doesnt fall? That means nebraska is better? U see what im saying? Easiest way is like u said though....win out cuz thats all that matters.
Oregon went through that frustration for years. They weren't undefeated, but they were certainly better than teams ranked ahead of them. Hell, I remember when Oregon would have a better record and had beaten other ranked teams in the PAC and couldn't even make the top 25. Even when the voters finally started to recognize that Oregon was worthy of being ranked, it was always several spots lower than their record merited. We heard the same things that are now said of Indiana. "Who have they played? Their conference is weak and Oregon's out of conference games were against nobodies." If Indiana can keep performing at a high level, it shouldn't take nearly as long to be respected as it took Oregon because at least they're in a conference that some voters actually respect.
Hi Craig, love your podcast. Its My new go to as I learn about the Big 10 as a newcomer Your analysis is spot on and a great way for us in Duck country to learn about the rest of the Conference. Thank you!!!!
I like your Big 10 top 10, but I think maybe I would swap Penn State and Ohio State, if for no other reason that Penn State is undefeated, and Ohio State not only has a loss but looks vulnerable, a little more every week.
It doesn't matter, because as a die hard Nittany Lions fan, it will change after Saturday in Happy Valley!!!! 24-16 my Nittany Lions 🦁 stay undefeated!!! WE ARE
If it was michigan that had Indianas schedule and won the way IU has won they would put michigan as a top 5. They want to see more IU will give them more believe that
Here's a question for the Locked On Big 10 pod. What is the state of Indiana NIL and the coaching pay? Can they capitalize on this seasons success? It would be great if Craig brought Jacob on as a guest to talk about how Indiana is capitalizing on Cignetti's success.
Craig, since Oregon joined the Big 10(18) I totally enjoy your podcast and your analysis. Keep doing what you’re doing and you gain my respect and support. GO DUCKS 🦆🦆🦆🦆 Beat the wolverines 🏈🏈🏈🏈
Duck fan: Absolutely love Michigan! Oregon will come in with a hybrid fast pace Pac-12 with a SEC/Big10 mouth-slappin style of football. Michigan will attempt to work the ol' skool slow down game, but just understand that the ducks have a coach(es) that are not going to slow this down from beginning to end-unless they're comfortably ahead... Also, Oregon has been hearing the all too familiar narrative that attempts to convince Oregon that they'd need to get used to the Big10/SEC trench hittin style football... But, Oregon is different in mindset, they believe the Big10/SEC will need to get used to this hybrid style of ass whoopin.. doesn't mean they won't or can't lose, it just means that when Dan Lanning said that Oregon allows for innovation - HE MEANT IT!! Oregon 38 Michigan 17 (I'm being generous to Michigan here)
Indiana still at #13... Let's pretend ND didn't lose to an unranked NIU MAC team at home while refusing to acknowledge that BYU plays in a crap conference compared to Indiana's B1G. Had the AP appropriately demoted LSU for losing weeks ago to USC, none of this nonsense happens when A&M demolished them on Saturday. LSU shouldn't have been in the top ten as ND shouldn't be if it weren't for money driven biases that make the pollsters reluctant to drop them when they lose.
Agreed. A & M hit the lottery with their good wins. Missouri was ranked way higher when they beat them. They went from 25-15 beating a Missouri team that's barely top 25 now. LSU is overrated when they beat them, now A&M is top 10 before IU. Which I think is insane. IU demolishes Nebraska by 7 TDS with their backup QB in half the game. OSU ranked 4th in the country nearly dropped the game to Nebraska the next week. Somehow no one cares.
The thing thats on our(iu fans) mind is if it was michigan they would be top 5. We have blown out everyone we played and never behind. AP is going off name recognition like craig said lets see how the cfp ranking is
@@chuckcribbs3398 it’ll be best non conference win, which would go to Oregon with their win over Boise State and Penn State with their win over WVU I believe.
Indiana beat UCLA in California 42 to 13, Oregon beat UCLA 34 TO 13. INDIANA MAULED NEBRASKA, NEBRASKA TOOK OHIO STATE DOWN TO THE LINE 17 TO 21. WHAT DO COLLEGE FOOTBALL EXPERTS SAY ? EYE TEST! QUALITY OF WIN! AND WHO " DID" THEY PLAY? WELL ALABAMA PLAYED VANDY EARLY LOST,QUALITY LOSSS?
Transitive property doesn’t work, Indiana will have its opportunity to show everyone just how good they are when they play Ohio State. Win that game and Indiana will be in the championship game. Then we will see if you’re good enough to beat my ducks. I do think people are sleeping on Indiana though.
@@nickfleming4757 Everyone is or has slepted on Indiana and I'm not a Indiana fan, Penn State for life! And Penn State is going to beat Ohio State. 💓 Indiana came out of NO WHERE to the shock of most if not all BIG 10 fans. I've been watching College Football forever! 69 years old next week, so I've seen a few games.

@alanbrooke3237 As a Penn St fan, you should feel like they'll beat Ohio St. And it's certainly possible now, but it's because of the injuries to their O-line. Before those injuries, Ohio St definitely had the edge and despite those injuries, they still have the better roster. Unfortunately for the Buckeyes, that talent advantage may not be enough since their better backfield and receiving corps need a solid O-line to be effective. I still think Ohio St will pull out the win, but I'm definitely not as sure of that now as I was a couple weeks ago. In fairness, I'm biased because I'm a life-long Ducks fan and an Ohio St win makes Oregon's win over Ohio St look better. Regardless, it should be a fun game to watch.
no longer about which individual team was shafted. am sick of glaring 'no-reviews' and/or no-calls by either b1g fb refs or the b1g replay center. latest? illini db led w crown, hit ore. wr, helmet-to-helmet right b4 the ore. wr crossed into the end zone - a no-call. 🙄
Yeah the SEC rank padding will help them but I think they will only get 3 teams in unless Penn St or Ohio St totally fall apart at the end of the season. I'm not worried about that to be honest, the 12 team playoff will help settle some of the Big 10 vs SEC discussions.
@@Datníğğa123 Well, that sounds good until you see how they dominate matchups with other conferences throughout the year and bowl season. If a fourth team is warranted from one of any of the conferences, it will be the SEC.
I assume you watched the game, as did I. Michigan won the game because Michigan St helped them to do it by constantly stepping on their weenies. That's football and a win is a win, but it doesn't tell the whole story.
@@christophernash1846 Yes and no. More often than not, the better team wins, but certainly not always. Oregon's loss to Washington last year was due far more to Oregon making stupid and unforced errors than to what Washington did, which goes to your point, for example.
