I remember just where I was when I first heard this song in 1986. I bought the cassette and later the CD. The CD is very hard to find now. The LP version is still around. This song and "Carolina in the Pines," are my favorites from him.

Love this as much as I did the 1st day I heard it! I went right out to my local record store that very day and bought the single - which I still have - and I've been diggin' it ever since! Love that heavy 4/4 rhythm during the piano & fiddle instrumental break begining at 1:30 really SWINGS!! It's too bad that they didn't have Johnny Gimble play fiddle and electric mandolin on this. I asked him once why he wasn't and he told me "I was double booked for another session (George Strait for MCA with Jimmy Bowen producing) so they got newcomer Mark O'Connor to play the fiddle."
