- The 2023 Škoda Enyaq can travel up to 532 km (330 miles) per charge, thanks to its large 77 kWh battery, however there's much more to this car than just range.
In this review, Gav puts the Enyaq through its paces, looking at handling, efficiency and gadgets, as well as answering your questions about the car.
And if you're keen on cutting your carbon footprint, come and join us at Ecotricity, which is now New Zealand's only climate positive electricity provider! That means by switching today, you're actually turning back the clock on Climate Change, while saving money in the process.
Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, it's not! Ecotricity is real, with really affordable electricity, thanks to it being purely renewable.
Head to ecotricity.co.nz and chuck in your address to see how much money & carbon you can save right now. It's that easy and it makes a real, positive difference for the next generation.
Hi Ecotricity NZ, thank you for sharing this review. We really appreciate the feedback. 💚
Perfektna slovencina👍👍👍
Mate, I love your very slight Kiwi-accent! :-) Having lived in NZ for one year in the early 2000s it feels like a short trip down memory-lane. "Heaps" of fun watching your video. It's really done very well! Here in Germany we have to wait about 18 months for an Enyaq right now. Mine is expected to arrive in September and I can't wait too drive it! Greeting to Auckland!
Nice review, well done 👍
Darn it. I'm getting 'Seated Heats' envy. My Outlander PHEV only has 'Heated seats'. Old school.
1:09 seated heats got me
Kept me informed and entertained, love it!
Even in the 1970s, people at Škoda had interesting ideas, for example for the ‘Škoda 720’ and ‘Škoda 760’ models, which did not make it into production because of the regime of the time.
Professionalism peak there. I could not keep composure next to a police car 😅
Freaking love a Škoda. I've owned 4 and two of them saved my life in bad crashes. One of those crashes, I drove home, stuck a second hand door and boot on it and continued driving it for 3 more years. Virtually indestructible and brilliant quality. So reliable.
This is sadly both too late to market and too expensive for me but I would totally take this as my first choice in the appropriate alternate universe.
You keep raising the bar in your videos Gavin. Well done. Before I started watching this one I thought. Hmm. Czech car so I was wondering how creative you will get yet again. Brilliant video review including Slovak language tutorial. :) And that panel of people evaluating their homeland product was very fitting too. Thank you and keep inspiring.
Sport mode next to police car 🎉happy new year. We still in 2023
I got my Enyaq IV80x in October, and I eliminated a lot of extras. As a farmer I needed 4WD & a tow hitch. I didn't get a heat pump (Ireland has a temperate climate) or adaptive cruise control, I wish I could have got rid of lane assist as well, on the small country roads that I drive on its positivity dangerous! I have done 2 very long drives, 800km in France & last week I did 600km towing a box trailer across Ireland and back in the same day, the temperature was at 1 degree C at kick-off. Don't worry you'll soon get bored with auto-park as you can do it much quicker yourself!
I passed my uk driving test in an allegro 48 years ago, with a square ish steering wheel. I intend to lease a Enyaq but here there are 3542 varieties. Thanks for your excellent review you have confirmed my choice. Sorry if I don't help your stats much. 😊
$97 990 you have to be kidding. You are paying way too much for your EVs. Nice vehicle with a lot of good features. Good review.
this sells for half the price (ppp) in germany. sad for NZ
We getting rorted by Colin Giltrap?
@@whatthe6532
probably
Excellent massaging seats - turning into W. A Spooner. Coincidence? I think not 😅
liked mostly for the puns :) it's a bit big for me, but sadly there isn't an elevtric honda fit (or close to) anymore
So many EV choices here now!
Wait. The Austin Allegro is already electric?
Um, you can clearly hear the engine start when he turns the key. Plus it makes engine noises for the whole ride.
It's got seated heats.............. awesome !! LOL With that said, really enjoyed the review, really well done.
That glovebox is a sign of RHD as an afterthought - the LHD cars get a full-sized glove-box because it doesn't rob space for the fuse box which doesn't swap sides with the steering wheel.
VW Group oddity - the best iD.3 is a SEAT, the best iD.4 is a Skoda...
Love these videos. You got to come to Australia for ev reviews
Thanks for your review. It was really helpful:D it is funny how you stopped next to a policecar and you are using the touchscreen. Here (Belgium) you will get fined €160 and lose your driver licence for roughly a week while doing that
seated heat? new feature.
158 Wh/km is pretty good for a 2.1T car. Equates to about 490km real world range (and fits nicely with the usual WLTP-10%). Disappointing it only has a 1T tow capacity when most of its competitors are 1.5-1.8T though.
I like the look of this car, in particular the fastback model (it’s not really a coupe) but at $92-103K it falls into the ground between consumer EVs and luxury EVs.
That's kiwi-dollars but it's still not cheap.
G you prolly need to check out a new Y with the improved suspension?
Quality production as usual.
Nice review and good chat. Why does NZ get EVs quicker than Australia?
Be good if you could deliberately hit some potholes and tell us how the car is.
Ground clearance, dirt road driving ability (not expecting a Defender).
Best car reviews on RUclips, bar none.
Clings to the left of the lane? So does what you're supposed to do?
“Seated Heats” - heated seats in the southern hemisphere?
Looks great, especially for the importer, what a margin. Hard to justify paying more than $20K over the rebate adjusted Tesla model Y.
Great review Gav, looks to be a great car, have an EV6 on order (hopefully pick up in the next week or two) the Enyaq won't be available in Australia this year, we seem soooo slow over here for receiving new models. Loved seeing the Allegro, used to work on them when I was a mechanic over there many years ago !!!!
Orders open 2nd half of 2023 in Australia
😢 90k+++
Ikr. Many cars are so expensive now
@@gbw28 maybe NZ should just import EV Kei Cars (NVan, NBox). Should be cheap brandnew.
“I don’t speak Czech and let’s face it, no one really does” 😂😂😂. Oh, you guys are a long way from Europe, down there, aren’t you 🤣
My 2006 Ford Connect van has a heated windscreen. Ford has been doing it for decades.
DRAG OFF THE COPS!!!💙
Please review Volkswagen ID buzz! Thank you
Love the water test…. But will it become a regular feature?!
The water test was good but I think beer would work better...
4:31 wonder what the police making of Gav and I also wonder did Gav see the police car there? talking about the police are they testing out using any BEV? if so can we have a video - please
@1:06 Apple Auto and Carplay Android? Huh
I wonder how long it will take for the common family to be able to afford an EV?
Haha what a fun video. Well done
Expensive
How long did it take you to do the opening?? lol
It just boggles the mind that B mode is not the default.
If you use the "brakes" in D mode it will recuperate as well. It's more about user interface than energy efficiency.
Doesn't boggle mine.
looks like Skoda outdone VW main car brand yet again
I speak Czech!!!!!!!
I like your videos, but if you said seated heats or android carplay in front of me I don't know if I could guarantee that I wouldn't physically assault you lol. Other than that good review, keep it up 👍.
Great car, ridiculous price
100k Skoda, lolz 😂 dreaming
WAY OVERPRICED....................
Apple Auto Carplay Android 😂
Fartment!
Dude just stick to the Facts. Model Y is 3.7 meters. Enyaq you say is 3.6 meters. That is not almost identical.
4.6m.
3,6 is more like a Fiat Uno.
Yes my mistake.
