    San Ramon was great up until roughly the 1990s. Then high-density housing & Dougherty Valley skyrocketed the population from 35,000 to 75,000 in a very short span. Compound that with radical demographic changes & it’s been a downward spiral.

    I grew up there and 2as bullied all the time by the rich kids. I was one of the poor families that relocated from San Leandro and lived in an apartment complex in an attempt to get away from the growing gangs coming from Oakland in the mid 80s. San Ramon was 10 x worse...

      I am so sorry to hear about that. I hate bullies. Thank you for posting your comment.

    It’s for rich people! The upper middle-class are on the low end there.

      Hello Jon, with this aggressive seller's market, many buyers are having a difficult time purchasing in the San Ramon area. Thanks for watching and posting.

      @@warrenoberholser okay, thank you. I was a little hasty. I don’t know how someone not earning at least $200,000 a year lives comfortably there unless they’ve been in the same home for at least 20 years. Menlo Park, San Jose, and of course, San Francisco are even more expensive.

      @@jondstewart Agreed, what also helps residents who purchased years ago is Prop 13 for the property taxes. Great discussion John. Please keep watching and posting. I really appreciate it!

      San Ramon is most certainly not rich. It’s nicer than Hayward & Concord, but it’s not Danville, Alamo, Atherton, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Mill Valley, Larkspur, etc.

    • @jondstewart
      @jondstewart Год назад

      @@krasnaludek298 it depends on what you describe as rich. If you want to live in a middle-class home in a decent neighborhood, you’ll be paying at least 1.5 million today. Maybe a CEO, surgeon, anesthesiologist, business attorney, or self-made business person can afford it, but that’s it!
