Nice one Ian. What memories these adverts were. Would you know, was the same director responsible for each of the Bailey adverts and if so can you recall who it might have been? I know the agency had a roster of star directors in the making. I remain partial to a pedicure.
@@VInterPaul Different directors every time. Alan Parker directed one of the earliest ads. Bob Brooks was another, as was Mandie Fletcher (director of Ab Fab) in the ad with Bailey and Dawn French. The final ad I worked on was a pan European commercial, starring Joan Collins and shot in LA directed by the brilliant Tony Kaye. Fun times, for sure!
David Bailey, Bryan Pringle, Phil Daniels, Michael Elphick, George Cole, Patrick Lichfield, Leonard Rossiter. Days when REAL stars and celebrities produced funny, interesting and informative advertisements and did not mind that they were having fun poked at them in a mild way. You really don't see anything as good as these now.
Great video - thanks for posting. Of course the great days of the OM system (and the Trip) were going to an end when the AF10 appeared. Took Olympus years to recapture their market with the digital PEN. Happy days.
