What happened to your beard?
@@theawesomeman9821 he shaved it off and I love it 😻 he looks sooo cute 🥰
NickFlix: "I don't think I've ever seen a Disney or Pixar movie in France"
Me: "Beauty and The Beast, Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers and The Aristocats?"
I don’t think I’ve ever known there was a part 2 unless I had forgotten over time
Fun fact, rats are un-able to gag. Which makes it funnier that he gagged at his soup
It was so bad, it forced Remys body to break the laws of nature.
It was so bad that his body rapidly evolved to compensate for just how bad it was. :D
They can gag, they just can't throw up. This was a "fun fact" that went around and isn't technically true. They would die if they were choking if this were true. They can gag and work things up but they cannot physically throw stuff from their stomache up
When u mean gag u mean vomit right?
Well, you’re close. I’m a zoologist in training, so I can confirm that rats can in fact ‘gag’ but they (and all rodents in fact) can’t vomit. So Remy here could gag at the soup, he just wouldn’t be able to throw up because of it (which really would have sucked if he had tasted the soup like Linguini did).
6:10 One of the darker sides of Michelin starred restaurants is the chefs themselves take them extremely seriously, and historically, suicide isn't terribly uncommon if they lose a star.
I never knew that :( that's sad.
@@RedRoseSeptember22 It is sad, I agree. I probably shouldn't have even brought it up 😬
@@superbooster2636 nah I needed to know that, thank you
@@cottonhairedaesthetic2005 It is kind of funny to think about the fact that all these restaurants and chefs rely so much on arbitrarily given stars from the Michelin Man. Seems so strange to me that a company that makes tires can hold so much influence in that way.
As an adult now this is probably one of the few Disney films that still resonates with me. Anyone from any background with the passion to do something incredible should. No matter what anyone in society tell you otherwise.
I love that this movie encourages a positive view of food. I have a 5 year old that struggles to enjoy some of food textures and has food allergies, so it's nice to have a movie show food can be a fun journey of exploration.
Yeah I have a thing about certain textures too :)
Btw, Linguini wasnt tampering with the soup, or trying to cook. He had knocked the soup over while cleaning the floors and then tried to make it seem like he hadn’t done anything wrong lol
The fact that Remy can control Linguini by his hair, is related to the short that comes with this movie "Lifted" in which Linguini's first house is destroyed by some aliens who try to abduct him by manipulating while he's asleep so I think they messed up his mind and also that's the reason why he moved to that apartment in Paris.
P. S. Thanks for reacting to this movie Nick, this movie is my favorite so far bc it helped me to discover my passion.
Interesting. 🤔
The Pixar Theory. No matter what time or setting all these Pixar films take place, they all exist in the same universe.
I remember that short being so confusing cuz I was like “why is linguini being abducted?” Lol
And you know it's animation so yeah
While Pixar put so much time and effort into the texture and detail of the food, they even had to turn to a local culinary school in the Bay Area to understand how the experience in the kitchen can play out in animated form.
Not to mention the fact the attention to detail on soaked clothes for Linguini. Allowing an actual animator in a chef’s outfit jumping into the studio’s own pool for reference is dedication, I’ll give them that!
Who wouldn’t want Remy’s cooking skills, am I right?
Fun fact, when I was little, I I've been watching this movie before lunch to open my appetite
Yeah whenever I would eat something delicious and fancy, I would act like Ego in the scene where he eats the Ratatouille.
@@CLDJ227 dramatic?
And I don't even like cooking. 😂
I would die for them.
"Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere."
- Ego
Sums up the idea and message of the film. Also, that whole last monoluge is brilliant and well-written 😎.
This is actually one of my favorite Pixar films and I’m glad your reacting to it.
ruclips.net/video/UbvF1YnZRzA/видео.html does anybody what name is the movie in video opinion what year from IMDB
And one thing I also love about this movie, is that while ppl usually agree with Remy cuz we are following his story, Remy isn’t innocent. He’s got flaws like everyone else, and he isn’t always right just cuz he’s got the “new ideals”.
Nick: “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Disney film set in France”
Me looks over at The AristoCats, Beauty and the Beast, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Perhaps he should retract those words immediately after what reactions have transpired before Ratatouille. 🤔
Spain however? nada
I don't count Ferdinand
@@Akatsukileader9 When did Spain come up in this conversation?
Well, these movies take place in France too but not in our times
Cinderella, too.
Ratatouille is one of my favorite animated movies growing up. Like it’s still iconic to this day because of all the Remy memes and all that. I also feel like this is unique apart from all the other animated movies I’ve loved watching as well. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it heavily incorporates French cuisine in the storyline.
I honestly don't see how today's pixar movies will crack my top 10 if the first 12 films including this in my Ranking is a perfect 10 out of 10. This film is so iconic. Top tier Pixar.
As a former restaurant cook this one has a special place in my heart. One of my favorite Pixar films
Chef Skinner was voiced by the late Lord of the Rings actor Ian Holm. The mannerisms of the character are based on the great French comedian Louis de Funès.
First time I saw this was a late night showing, past 8pm. I was jet-lagged big time, and thought I would fall asleep in the middle of the movie. Not so; I enjoyed it so much it kept me awake the whole time.
As a once certified line cook and pastry chef I love this movie for showing what goes on in the kitchen.
You already saw Disney movies who take place in France : " The Hunchback of Notre-Dame " and " The Aristocats " even if Ratatouille is the only one who takes place in our time.
It's funny because the name of Linguini is a référence of cooking (Alfredo is a type of sauce and Linguini for the linguines (a type of pasta).
Ratatouille has always been my favorite Pixar movie. Even tho so many are good, and some made me consider putting them above Ratatouille, I’ve never swayed. I don’t think I can be swayed. This movie is that good.
Also, the co creator, Jan Pinkava is a cool dude.
The voice casting was impeccable! Patton Oswalt, Sir Ian Holm, Peter O'Toole, Jeanine Garofalo (♥️ huge crush!) and, of course, Brian Dennehy (R.I.P big guy!)
"I've never seen a Disney or Pixar movie set in France."
The Aristocats, Cinderella, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Beauty and the Beast are shaking. 😱😂
Hunchback of notre dame is shaking
@@Therealsoso10 Oh right, that one, too. 😂
Wait how have so many people never seen this movie it’s literally like a classic
This is one of my favourite movies, so good. The only issue I have with it is that Gusteau tells remy not to steal a crumb of bread that no one would miss, even though he is starving. In my book stealing to survive is morally sound, if you take it from someone who can spare it
Maybe it's also because Remy said before it's bad to steal
@@a.g.demada5263 sure it makes sense for him to say it, but I don't think this is the message that young kids should take away from this movie. Again it's one of my favourite movies but insisting it's bad to steal no matter what the circumstance is very classist, in my opinion
@@EllieCedar but you're right about it
@@a.g.demada5263 Remember that "Gusteau" is only a figment of Remy's imagination. So really Remy is telling himself that he shouldn't steal because he feels it would compromise his integrity.
@@silverstarlightproductions1292 yes, I thought about that too. Did you notice Gusteau doesn't appear after Remy says he's a chief
So if you want, go back to the scene where they get caught in the walk in refrigerator and turn the brightness up all the way. You can actually see him put Remi into his hat and it’s actually kind of funny 😂
Nick clapping in joy at 10:50 gives me life! 😁 Never change!
The score is excellent, isn't it? I was lucky to catch this a few times in the theatre in 3D (each time bringing another friend) and we absolutely loved it.
Ah yes, another childhood movie. Thank you Nick for reacting this cause this movie is hella underrated.
I loved that movie to the point I memorized every line to the whole thing.
Btw, you look younger without your beard. I love it! Love you and your videos! Big fan from the Philippines! 😁🙌
This Pixar film was not what I expected but I did enjoy it very much. Thanks for covering Ratatouille, Nick! 🙂
Ur not alone Ratatouille always makes me hungry too😂definitely one of the best Pixar films
Nick, you just watched the biggest animated movie of my childhood. Btw, you should REALLY watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles with Steve Martin and John Candy, that’s a great holiday movie.
"I've never seen a Disney movie that takes place in France"
The Aristocats: *am I a joke to you?*
LMAO XD
I heard Pixar film….
@@Otisboy121 1:11 disney or pixar movie
Haha sorry forgot it was set in Paris.
Cinderella is meant to be in France too and I remember watching you react to that, Beauty and the Beast is in France I think you reacted to that too if not you should. There’s a few Disney movies set in France but those are the two ( besides Aristocats which Dinky mentioned already) that comes to mind.
Yayyy I love Ratatouille! I watch this with my best friends when we're cooking all the time :)
It's just impossible not to get hungry with Ratatouille! My favourite movie! Thanks for reacting to it! :3 ❤️
Awesome react! Possibly my favorite from Pixar. Love to see the silhouette of dug the dog from the other Pixar movie "Up" at 10:30.
Fun fact: Patton Oswalt (the actor playing Remy) was chosen to play Remy after a stand-up comedy joke about food. I think that’s pretty interesting
I really don't watch many reaction channels but I'm so glad I found yours! You seem very genuine and wear your heart on your sleeve and that's really cool. :) It makes me enjoy whatever you're watching even if it's something I'm not personally interested in myself.
this is literally one of my fav, whenever I need smth that feels good and makes me feel happy, I watch this!!
How funny, we just watched this one again last week! We're studying France in our homeschool and we wanted a themed movie night. :P
Glad you're finally getting around to this one. I love Peter O'Toole's monologue in the end.
As a french girl, I'm glad to know that.
I hope Nick will react to french movies one day
@@a.g.demada5263 France is so pretty!! We've been studying world geography all year and every country we do some of the language, music, a meal, and a movie.
We did a brunch for our meal and had omelets, croissants and strawberry crepes. My kiddos loved it!
We're doing Germany next.
@@ashleypenn7845 it's a good idea. You should watch the movie " The Chorists ".
It's also sad each time people tell " France " everyone think directly to Paris
@@a.g.demada5263 we did talk about Paris since it's the capital but we also talked a lot about the countryside since another thing we discussed is the climate and ecosystems.
This is one of the best movies ever. I love how in touch with your reactions you are never change that. I also love the shaved look on you, it's handsome ❤
Nick: has a clean shaven face
Me: ❤️🔥😍😍😍😍❤️🔥
I'm trying to watch him react to the movie but I'm.... a little distracted 😍❤️🔥
10:17 I don't think people appreciate just how hard it is to play this part of the soundtrack on that flute. That is some masterful performance.
Hey Nick, I just gotta say. I've been subscribed since your first few thousand subs and I just wanted to say that you have very quickly become on of my favorite reactors from all of RUclips.
Your content is awesome and I love the genuine reactions you have to all these movies and such that I already enjoy. Watching you react feels like the happiness you'd get from sitting down with a friend and introducing them to some show or movie that you love. I'm glad to see your channel growing and I hope that it continues to get more and more subs. 10/10 man
25:49 - wooow I never even realized the dirtiness level of this joke - "one can get too familiar with vegetables, you know!"
This is easily one of my favorite movies so happy you're finally seeing it!
NickFlix: "I don't think I've ever seen a Disney or Pixar movie in France"
Me: "Beauty and The Beast, The Aristocats, Hunchback Of Notre Dame and Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers?"
I will NEVER NOT get used to the part where Remy goes up and Paris is revealed. 🥺
Loved this! Can't wait for part 2
20:35 "I keep forgetting his name, I keep calling him the rat."
Me: As a Kingdom Hearts fan, he is named Little Chef.
Thanks Nick ❤ one of the best animations ever made, I love your reactions
This is my personal number 1 favorite of Pixar!
A lot of heart, the story, the gorgeous animation, the characters, everything is so perfect!
I remember when the first clip of this movie came out at the start of summer 2007, I used to watch the scene when Remy comes to the restaurant kitchen a lot of times. And when I finally saw the movie on theater, it was a joy of life. :D
RIP peter o'toole the voice of anton ego(1932-2013) RIP ian holm the voice of chef skinner(1931-2020) and RIP Brian Dennehy the voice of django(1938-2020)😥and ratouile is one of the underrated pixar movies but it is a good and a fantastic pixar movie🐀👨🍳🎬🎥👌and great reaction video👏👏👍👍 Nickflix and please check out finding nemo finding dory wreck it Ralph ralph breaks the internet ice age 5 and the cars movies😊❤👍 can't wait for part 2 of the reaction
I always like watching Ratatouille and Nick's channel
I think this movie is a guide for those who want to study in cooking school. The detail of the old woman sleeping on the television channel while watching the food channel may also be related to this: Famous Painter Bob Ross's program received great acclaim around the world. (I love it too, it's still airing on TRT 2 after all these snakes) Ross' voice was so peaceful and reassuring that some Bob Ross fans had trouble sleeping and fell asleep while listening to the show.
FIRST TIME?!?!? You always surprise me haha! This is the best Disney movie ever!
I learned a lot about rats from this movie: they’re very clever and they can detect poison with their sense of smell
As a first time viewer of your stuff, I can say that your reactions are adorable. When you were like, “He died? :(“ that was bizarrely adorable. I really like this reaction
The fact you called Linguini being Gusteau's son before it was even a plot point. :P
OMG the beard is gone haha. jkjk man glad you liked the movie
ruclips.net/video/UbvF1YnZRzA/видео.html does anybody what name is the movie in video opinion what year from IMDB
Hahah it was amazing!
I love this movie, such an amazing animation work of Pixar. One of the best, by far.
When you say that it's the first time that a movie makes you hungry, it reminds me of your reaction to the movie RED, when in a scene Mei Lee's father starts cooking with that 4K animation
1:11 Well, actually you saw The Hunback of Notre Dame which set in France, so I guess you already had.
ur face when the lights came on and linguini was there was hilarious
I’ve been to Paris and it is beautiful 🇫🇷
Oh right! I'm pretty sure the dog that barks at Remi on his way into Paris is the same model as Doug from UP
Damn , Nick. That shave is so clean, it's perfect
I always thought the old lady looked really scary with her gas mask on. I gotta hand it to the animators, they did a great job animating the food in this movie, it looks so delicious, it makes you hungry. I don't think you can watch this movie without getting hungry. And it would be interesting to watch this movie entirely in French
10:32 Easter egg: Dug, the dog from "Up" is the shadow
The shadow of the dog that barks at Remy is Dug, as a teaser for then upcoming Up.
This was such a favorite film that there is a special musical made during COVID through TikTok.
Paris looks so nice in this movie
This and the incredibles are my favorite pixar movies 💗💗great reaction as always nick
I work in a kitchen and every time I watch this movie it reignites my love of cooking and food.
Woah! Baby Face! Like the new Cut! Love your videos even more! Keep doing your Thing man!
When someone is in the kitchen and they are walking behind someone they Have to yell loud enough “Behind!” So the person they are passing doesn’t knock into them and ruin something they are doing or damage each other.
I think it's adorable how you nodded your head to the Luxo Jr. figure jumping at the Pixar logo. (I'm also glad I'm not the only one who does that)
Reminds me of the Abbott and Costello bit “Who’s on first?”.
Aaah, I love Nickflix when he says "Aaaah !!!" claping the hands at 10.44 (when he sees Paris) , he's so cute 🤗❤️ Et vive la France 🇫🇷 🙌 🙌
My siblings amd I always used to play the PC game of this movie. It was so fun! The sewer pipe slide levels were always the hardest for me and my baby brain tho hehehe
I named my dog after Remy
Oui oui
The shadow of the dog on the wall when Remy is running up through Paris is Dug from "UP".
Rat's can't vomit(which is why rat poison is so effective on them), so Linguini's soup was so terrible that Remy nearly broke the laws of nature.
Skinner is voiced by Ian Holm(aka Bilbo Baggins from LOTR version's, not the young one).
Linguini wasn't trying to cook. He knocked the soup off the stove and spilled half of it, with him trying to replace ingredients and adding water from the sink to avoid getting in trouble.
You have indeed seen a Disney movie set in France. A couple if I remember correctly. The most recent being The AristoCats. But you've also done Hunchback of Notre Dame, also taking place in Paris.
10:32 IS THAT DUG’S SHADOW?!?!
The dog at 10:33 is Doug from UP. A Disney Easter egg
Linguini was never able to cook, hence why Remy needed to fix the soup. If Linguini could cook, what would be the point of Remy, and just because his dad was a chef, doesn't mean he inherits his talents.
Also, if Gusteau knew, he would've told people about it, or Linguini's mother wouldn't have written the letter.
1:10 Have you seen Beauty and the Beast? Aside from Ratatouille, you have also reacted to The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and The AristoCats. All these Disney movies are set in France 🇫🇷🥖🥐🐭
I have seen beauty and the beast and thanks for the reminder!
I've seen this movie a few times before, but only after watching your first time watch of this movie did I actually pick up on what the angry chef meant by "One can get too familiar with vegetables, you know!" after finding Linguini with his unbuttonned uniform whie in the walk-in fridge! >
How the heck did you figure out Linguini is Gusteau's son so quickly?! I didn't know until the scene Skinner finds out!
Can't wait to get out of work to watch this 🥰 definitely my favorite Pixar movie
One of my favorite Disney films next to A Bug's Life! 😍😍😍
LOVE all the reactions! My younger brother and I always watch your videos! Especially the Pixar and Disney ones!
If you haven't watched it yet, may you react to Monsters Inc? It is from Disney/Pixar animation studios!
How does he manage to have drip with and without a beard lol
Fun fact: at 10:33,the shadow of the dog is duke from up movie which is also a Pixar and Disney movie
Dug actually, but yes. They included his shadow as an easter egg.
Heyo Nick happy holidays. I don’t usually hard recommend stuff but a film I think you’d absolutely love is Annabelle’s Wish. It’s an underrated gem of a Christmas movie with a great story and message and solid animation. I watch it every year even as an adult.
There are many inspirations for Auguste Gusteau like Georges Auguste Escoffier, an amazing chef. He wrote a cookbook that's considered by many as the Bible of French Cuisine cooking. As well as Bernard Loiseau, a French Chef who killed himself newspaper reports hinted his restaurant might lose its 3-star status.
19:38 this still has to be my favorite scene in Ratatouille 😂
Too funny. 😂
Aah I actually have this game and the part where you have to go on the water is super difficult! xD
20:21
This made me pay attention to just how WEIRD Brad Bird characters look facing downward
