Now you're talking. That's the type of content I've been looking for. Not always review brand new cars😖. Coz not all of us are looking for brand new cars. 🤘
Video is very interesting. The dekra report from WeBuyCars is not truthful. I bought a Hyundai gets 1.3 A/C for R37500 in 2022. The dekra report only identified 1 issue which was the stabilizer link bar rubber which had worn out. When i took the car at webuycars in germiston the radiator was leaking and i told the sales guy that the radiator is leaking.......guess what he said(we are wholesale, we sell as it is😅). I took the car, drove it and it was fine, after a month, a steal water pipe leaked and that is when I decided to fully inspect the car. I patched the steal water pipe, flushed the radiator and then patched it, replaced both stabilizer link bars. Now its been almost a year and the car is amazing, just serviced it yesterday and I think its the best car I've owned thus far because I can service it myself and i can also do I lot of things on it by myself😝. When you buy a second hand car make sure to do a full inspection and change what needs to be changed before things go south
I enjoyed the story. The problems and the drama form part of the good memories about your first car, they will stay with you forever. My first was a 2010 Polo 1.6 Comfortline with a mileage of 220K. I enjoyed dealing with all the issues it came with. Nothing will ever compare to the first car that you bought with your own hard earned money. 😊
I was laughing throughout this video. It reminded me of a friend of mine who went through a similar experience. The guy bought a Chevrolet Spark 2009 model in 2019, and the car gave him problem after problem. The sad part he could not sell it to anyone, but he managed to get a new car and the Spark is just parked in his yard. I enjoy watching your videos because they teach people. Some people make bad decisions when buying their first used cars just because they want to surprise us.
I bought my first car last year. It was an 04 Jetta. It was one of the best days of my life. The only issue they told me was that it needed the water bottle changed. So i had to drive it real slow so it doesn't overheat. Got the new bottle the next week, got my brakes done. And that's when the real problem started. Loss of power, hard starts, flactuating revs. After pouring all my money into it. They said the main issue was related to the exhaust manifold not releasing heat or something like that, and it would cost about 20k to fix it. And i had bought it for 45k. I was tired of fixing my first baby so i sold her to someone who had the strength and patience to deal with all that.
I bought my first car back in the year 2000, it was a five-year-old Toyota Corolla 1.8 gle it had 138,000 km at the price of R40K. I drove it for 11 years problem-free and I sold it off in 2011 for R48K. I must confess though I do regret selling it.
The Toyota Corolla is almost invincible when its taken care of properly. I know people who've driven it for 20 years and it's still going. Toyota's are known to hit 1 million kilometres.
Bro thank you for making this particular video. When I came across your content I legit thought you grew exposed to cars from a young age and probably learned to drive before the legal age. Little did I know that you're just an ordinary guy who recently bought his first car . But I must say that you've really been fortunate in your "not so long journey" of being a "car person " because here you are a mere 4 years later hosting car awards and stuff. Well done bro. I love your story!
Nice one! This car had a relatively low mileage, the defects it had just show that the owner was not taking good car of it. It could have been a good starter pack.
My first car was a Ford figo 2011 model. Yoh, that car shown me flames. In a space of a month, I was looking like a hobo, owing many people money. I even developed anger issues 😂😂. I managed to fix the issues and still own the car to date. It is now very reliable, I drive it to anywhere without worrying at all. What I always tell people who want to buy second hand cars, especially those below 100k, if you have 100k go for a car costing way less than that e.g 80k.. so you have enough left to fix all issues before you can start driving it.
Yanos showed you flames. The video was educational (with real life experience) in the sense that a car is not cheap, regardless of what you paid to get one. The 14k subscribers special was different but in a good way. I enjoyed the video. Looking forward to more🔥
Just wanted to drop a quick note to say thanks for sharing that story. I really enjoyed watching your videos on the car review- they always feel like a brotherly point of view. Keep sharing those stories.
😂 😂 😂 😂 Ey the doors ne.. I have a polo 1.6 2009 model... The back right door gives me issues.. Got my car at 145000km in 2020... R62000 fresh as a lemonade... The car was super clean everything was still VW Original parts... No issues watsover.... Only had issues two years later when i had to start changing breaks, plugs and shocks... Honestly the only time i stuck was because of tyre or petrol... Unfortunately i had an accident last year got hit from behind..... Mxm.... I still drive it today it got fixed im on 233600 km... And honestly the best car iv driven thus far... I had a clio and kia before... Most reliable... I call her Bianca
Hi brother, good content, i had same bad experience after buying my bmw x3, 3D M57, 2010,from we buy cars, the car was very clean inside and outside, everything in original condition ,I have some experience in buying cars as this was my 20th bmw cause o buy keep for less than a yesr and change it, the only thingon this car it was missing a windscreen bidding, which was strange because the car was never been in any accident, the bonnet even still had the original plastic on it for chips, and i overlooked that missing bidding, but when i drove the car from dealership on the freeway it started losing power and instrument cluster can go off and on, and on again, next day car did same thing and it started dying on traffic lights, i do service my cars at bmw dealership but this time i said no let me check out this guy who helped me before, went there and theu diagnosed the car and told me it needs fuel pump and i spend 8k on it and car still do the same ,went to another mechanic and he found oil in fuse box all the relays and fuses were full of oil which was strange, i had to buy engine relays which costed me 4k car was fine for a day next day same problem this time i was fade up and went to bmw, they diagnosed the car and found that it was diesel regulation valve which costs R3800 and serviced the car all costs 8k then they found cvc the exhaust regulation value was responsible for power drop too it was leaking on top and you can see it was black the part alone costs 15k all in all i spend 45k on the car to make it right. But the main thing everyone should be aware of with auction cars is that some of those cars get sabotaged by employees there who collude with some other clients who wants to buy the car there cheaply, eg someone comes at the auction and like the car but it is expensive then he makes a deal with the sales people to sabotage the car so that it devolpes a problem ,either not start or anything that will cause people not to buy it then he comes back and offer less money, in my case my car was sabotaged either buy the same people where they bought it so that they buy it cheaply or someone a potential buyer was waiting for this car to fail to sell then he comes and get it cheaply, the missing windscreen bidding was intentionally removed, the oil in the fuse box someone intentionally poured oil there to make the car fail to start which didn't happen, the car didn't want to die that way, a friend of mine bought a 7 series from the same auction next day it started problems and i told him to first check everything himself and he found under the hood that same cables were disconnected and he just connected them back and the problems were solved, so be vigilant when buying auction cars , the auction itself is a good place to get a good deal if you are a risk taker, but if you are looking reliability and guarantee then auction is not for you, because employees of the auction have buyers who buy to sell and those collude with them to sabotage cars even the auction themselves they can sabotage your car if you are selling and then give them the car to assess it without you being around, they can come back with a list of problems and a small offer then when you drive the car back sure you start to see those problems and end up selling it to them cheaply.
Thank you for sharing your story bro, i heard a lot of stories about webuycars and how unreliable they are, but non of them came close to reality like this, and its funny how i also keep on searching for cars on their website as well, but now i knw what i need to do, thanks to u bro 😉
thank you so much for pure honesty this really made and opened my eyes a lot. this video is what i was looking for pure honesty and really honest review of a second hand car and the challenges faced thank u man
My wife gets the new cars. I have a 2007 Polo Classic 1.4. it's low mileage (102k km). It's still going strong and had it's major service now so is good to go for years to come. By the way the locks love to go, they deadbolt too so it's a mission if the door locks shut!
my first car was a used 2015 Sandero from a random dealer, felt wobbly on the road and the steering wheel would vibrate at high speeds. turned out the left rear shock was bent when i took it for alignment and a bro that was working on it got is sorted for me on the side. driving in the rain gave me another shock; water came in through the aerial mounting on the roof. :D. then got a used Fiesta from VW dealership, not a single thing to complain about a year later and folks hardly believe it's preused. ho tough there by used cars.
I had the same polo the same colour same wheels for 12y it was 2008 12 months old with 14.000 miles on the clock I got for a great price from a vw dealers it had a 1.4 tdi 3 cylinder it was a great car I sold it last year with 100.4000 on the clock it was requiring some expensive jobs on it to keep it going properly my new car is 1.6 diesel Astra which is smoother with the extra cylinder and to my Surprise is doing more mpg
This is a Comfortline (electric windows, mirrors and colour coded beadings). I had exactly the same car from 121 000km and sold it at 340 000km something. Nice cars, but after 250 000km, the issues come piling up. But id still buy it over a Kwid
At least they allow you to thoroughly check vehicle. Compare to most dealers. Not allowing you to drive it open certain areas or give u a Vin number to check history
A lot has changed , the CPA forces a 6 month guarantee which a buyer must move fast on to deal with any issues, and as you mention make sure to study the dekra report.
Great Video as well as entertaining, need more South Africans creating content like this, well done on having the patience that you did with this car, as for me, would have left it in Pretoria West with the windows open and keys in the ignition. Insurance will sort it out😂
Liyakhula elibandla thanks to Muzi for introducing me to your channel great content your story reminds of mine saze safa sibancinci keep up the good work ndoda....
Hi Baba Sambo, great story of WV Bushwa I really wonder why people who know very little about cars would buy a car from an auction.🤔. Wait my first car was from a Wesbank repo Auction, however the car was a 2 year old so it was a well calculated risk. It was in a good condition no problems until say 5 years later. I am mechanically enclined with 2 NDs and a degree in engineering. I must say it's never a good idea to buy a used Vw if you dont know anything about cars. I have owned 3VWs at different times one bought used, the rest new. I'm contemplating to replace from old to new Tiguan maybe a demo. I do my own maintenance/repairs. For reliability, I buy Toyotas albeit boring.
Brilliant Absolutely brilliant Finally we can see the struggle, we have always heard stories of such things which have opened our ears. Seeing this, opens our eyes Great stuff
That was expensive school fees. Loved the video! My first car was a good old fashioned Toyota Tazz (late 90s base model). Drove the car for more than 200k kilometres problem free. I hear nothing but bad reviews about WeBuyCars. Surely you're learned your lesson and will not go and buy from them again?
Word of advice to when you've bought a second hand car, never send your car to Dekra for a roadworthy test.! They'll make it fail deliberately. Obviously any second hand car has wear and tear, but doesnt mean it's not safe to drive. When changing ownership rather use 3rd party companies who charge a commission but get the job done
Bought my mom a GRAND i10 2019 automatic at webuycars , only issue was a dead battery , I don think they have start and go cars hey. Theres always something.
Great video ..but I am late . Went through the same path but I'm glad it happened..I managed to fix all the problems with my hands and I few tools took forever but it's smooth af I have a second one though but it's best when your first is like this❤️
Would’ve been wiser to use that 60k as a deposit on a car just under R150k, then you’re paying for a Newer, less mileage and less problematic car with a monthly instalment of less than R2000. But it’s your first car and so now you learnt for future decisions
In 2018 we bought a 2009 Mercedes Benz c180 at we buy cars and after driving it for 2 weeks ,it broke down and we had to pay over 40k to fix it at the Mercedes dealership it only had 120 000 km on it
Bro. 😂 Eish.. knowledge goes a long way. He just had to replace wear and tear items. The boot not opening is a common problem on this model but fixable Headlights remove them and go back to Halogens.. there are white Halogens also. A young polish and upholstery would come in handy. I think his heart was really with that Fiesta.
the first red flag with 'yanos' was the plate number design. that alone says so much about a vehicle and the previous owner. the second red flag was the inside lights which were led - that shows you alongside the number plate, that this car has been fidgeted with unnecessarily. yes - the inside lights could've had to be replaced but why put in led ones? no surprise that the car had rims on - the plate number is an instant giveaway that the previous owner liked things and you do not want a second hand vehicle from a person like that. the led headlights were just the cherry on top. do not overlook the small details. sometimes you don't even need to check the car mechanically. small details are more than enough to tell you everything you need to know.
YOOOOOO..bekuyihleza leli...yeer ...did you check the engine ...yeses..!! nna never..!!.... i drive a polo as well ..same model but i make sure my engine's top notch ...im not in a hurry to get another car ...i can afford a double cab bukkie but rather ..im saving my money for now ...will keep my polo... most reliable car vw ever made ..when you know how to service it ...
Now you're talking. That's the type of content I've been looking for. Not always review brand new cars😖. Coz not all of us are looking for brand new cars. 🤘
I try to make sure there is something for everyone and I make it a point to listen to my viewers…

This is an eye-opener. Bought a 2010 ford fiesta at WeBuy Cars in 2018 still driving it with no problems whatsoever.

I bought the same car been driving it problem free for 7 years, a petrol saver will never regret buying that car😅.
When it rained😢..you would feel the water splash 😂Askies bakithi..this gave me a bit of trauma especially because of my first i20 2015…yerr
Lol you are a good story teller man, the sounds you were making when describing the problems😂😂, and thank you for the content🔥

My car was 470 000 km when it was written off. She was still on the road. The older naturally asperated cars are very reliable.

Our Nissan hardbody is over 500k
My Polo 9n3 1.4i is currently sitting at 320 000km... These motors are very reliable indeed
I still have my 1.6 2008 polo I plan to keep it until the wheels fall off but I’m fearing it’ll
Need a dsg service soon

I've got 2017 golf 7.5 tsi 1.0 never had any problems. Uses 4.8 l per 100. No oil or water pump problems like previous Golf.
Lol ey on my side I don't mind buying an old vw or Toyota car as I am a mechanic. You did a right thing selling it
That was expensive school fees. Loved the video! My first car was a good old fashioned Toyota Tazz (late 90s base model). Drove the car for more than 200k kilometres problem free.
I hear nothing but bad reviews about WeBuyCars. Surely you're learned your lesson and will not go and buy from them again?
Lol you I can't believe I made some popcorn 🍿 to tune in because this was interesting. Lalela make more like this.
I love you you promote realistic growth on this platform; something we don't always see on social platforms. All the in depth details are amazing.
Cheddar Boy is a real one😂❤️🙌🏾
This is an eye opener must say. Thank you for this
The interior lighting at We Buy cars will definitely fool you. It makes all cars look new
Word of advice to when you've bought a second hand car, never send your car to Dekra for a roadworthy test.! They'll make it fail deliberately. Obviously any second hand car has wear and tear, but doesnt mean it's not safe to drive. When changing ownership rather use 3rd party companies who charge a commission but get the job done
Funny to watch, enjoyed your commentary. Just a question, how does the seats go from ok’ish to destroyed in 7 weeks!? And the dash
Those are the most recent videos taken years after I sold it to my former colleague.
As someone looking to buy my first car Love this
How old are u
First time on your channel and you ma guy just earned a follower 👊🏿👊🏿
omg i just bought my son a POLO today! a 2008 POLO! now i am scared!
There’s a place called Salaamat Motors in randfontein. Quality used cars at reasonable prices
This is the real content for me, want to by a 2nd car
You went straight to the point. Thank you.
Drove the Ford..nice car my only issue I had with that Fiesta...on a Hot day aircon and driving slow it will heat up and have power issues
Bought my mom a GRAND i10 2019 automatic at webuycars , only issue was a dead battery , I don think they have start and go cars hey. Theres always something.
Very nice story, now im going to see the fiesta story
Great video ..but I am late . Went through the same path but I'm glad it happened..I managed to fix all the problems with my hands and I few tools took forever but it's smooth af I have a second one though but it's best when your first is like this❤️
I'm not laughing 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Yanos showed you flames mate!
Would’ve been wiser to use that 60k as a deposit on a car just under R150k, then you’re paying for a Newer, less mileage and less problematic car with a monthly instalment of less than R2000. But it’s your first car and so now you learnt for future decisions
Also take note some dealerships also buy cars from WeBuy Cars.
Very funny🤣🤣🤣🤣 and informative. Thank you
I saw an 2017 polo this for 40k at auctions and we took the risk of buying it was in good condition from Namibia
How has it been so far ?
The nice thing about these Polos is that they are easy to fix and maintain…
@@mrhowmuch car was a government vehicle and we had to fix a lot of stuff from clutch to engine to new brakes but it's a nice car and still moves
Wooow thanks brother to your info help me bcz I ddnt nw the Dekra stick means
You’re welcome 🙂 thanks for watching , I hope you stick around for more car reviews…
In 2018 we bought a 2009 Mercedes Benz c180 at we buy cars and after driving it for 2 weeks ,it broke down and we had to pay over 40k to fix it at the Mercedes dealership it only had 120 000 km on it
Nice video man. Very insightful🔥🔥
The part of steering wheel shaking yhooo I felt like dying ,was on an N4 with my first second hand polo ..
great narration bro, top level content
The sad thing about this experience is that with a good and honest mechanic it would have been a pleasant first car buy
Bro. 😂 Eish.. knowledge goes a long way. He just had to replace wear and tear items. The boot not opening is a common problem on this model but fixable
Headlights remove them and go back to Halogens.. there are white Halogens also.
A young polish and upholstery would come in handy. I think his heart was really with that Fiesta.
New subscriber and already love the content. Realistic content. Amazing💯
Thank you Katiso
Welcome to the channel 🙏🏾
Lol at the "doors not opening" problem... I've got a 320k km 9n3 polo myself with that problem
If you didn't have that problem then it wouldn't be a proper VW haha
I love this type of content!
the first red flag with 'yanos' was the plate number design. that alone says so much about a vehicle and the previous owner. the second red flag was the inside lights which were led - that shows you alongside the number plate, that this car has been fidgeted with unnecessarily. yes - the inside lights could've had to be replaced but why put in led ones? no surprise that the car had rims on - the plate number is an instant giveaway that the previous owner liked things and you do not want a second hand vehicle from a person like that. the led headlights were just the cherry on top.
do not overlook the small details. sometimes you don't even need to check the car mechanically. small details are more than enough to tell you everything you need to know.
Beautiful video. Really enjoyed the story.
That paper done flipped n exposed wat it was supposed to hide at 0:55 😂😂😂
@@Trey_tremain 😭😭😭
😂😂I saw that
Thank you so much for this. Great content👌🏾
