Buying a car for the first time, is an experience like no other. Theres so much to consider. No matter who says what you are bound to fall for one scam or another, be it finance deals, useless extra products and warranties, Things to look for on a car especially a used one. As they say experience or hind side is a better teacher. It is better to go through a deal with someone older brother, uncle father who has vast experience through the process, but then when you are younger you think you know better and you are servey with high tech stuff.
It’s really important to test drive on your own and also turn on/off any switches, features, etc. I also learnt this the hard way before. Also, for finance, always get a quote from your bank too and compare it to the dealership. I made the worst mistake of taking a balloon payment 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
It is very important bro, I can not stress it enough!
We all make mistakes the first time around, its one of the ways we learn unfortunately
@khutsomarule you can usually tell the consultant the dealer name and the vehicle and price (can’t remember what else), some financiers like MFC have an online system to do this where you just fill in the details on a form and they let you know later in the day or the next day. If you have a private banker, just ask them to do it instead
The problem with being a first time car buyer is that as soon as they tell you your application has been approved, you can’t believe it, the excitement is overwhelming and you feel like it’s a miracle. You are not going to even negotiate or ask questions, just now they perhaps rescind the offer😅. All you are thinking about is driving off in your new car. The sales guys live for that moment, and man they’ll show you flames! 😄
Eish you just want to collect and go 😂😂 but it gets better everytime we learn about these things
Sho Bra J , when you change gear you make me miss my ST , there's something special about this car , anyone who never owned it will never understand the pleasure it gives when you drive.
Come back to the ST community soon 🥺
Jo you can always refinance your car - easier through a Private Banker and it only costs R1200 for the initiation at the new bank if your current bank won't match your rate
I have some videos on this
I will checkout your videos
Thank you for sharing! I am so nervous to go for a test drive because I have only driven at a driving school. I think alot of videos do not acknowledge that part.
Dont be scared, ask a close friend/family member to drive for you at the dealer
😁Tell us the interest rate mchana...🤔Prime + 10%🤷🏽♂🤷🏽♂
😂 +4 at the time
The beast is here I see.. Awe babuSambo
@@josiahthobejane If you are on a fixed rate that's a norm but if you took a variable rate they are chowing you.
@@MuziSambogood day mchana , may I pls have your contact details, I need to have a private chat with you ASAP
I’m the friend that was like @Ahhh I’m .25 below prime” 😅😅😅 I still remember that convo
You let the salesperson test drive it for you😂😂damn I’m learning a lot great video
This is actually a good watch!, this information will go a long way..We get way too excited about qualifying for Vehicle finance..

Thank you bro, yeah definitely 🙏🏿
Very insightful, thanks for sharing 🙌🏾
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing bro, I'm starting my self teaching journey and my biggest take away here is projects, projects, projects 🙏
Look I appreciate your review, and the reminder that you have given To us about the covers that the salesman put. When you started your video I was not happy because I was expecting to hear the figures like others do Ex @Musi Sambo. I wanted to know the prime, interest rate and your installment. But it was awesome man...
Thank you for watching. There are things I am not comfortable disclosing because they are of no use to you, knowing my interest rate and how much I pay on my car won’t help you in anyway; it would just be for entertainment purposes.
I am glad you are able to take something out of this video 🙏🏿
very educational
Thank you
You having fun with this car 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 I am glad I landed on your insta page now i am more comfortable to look for a focus ST as VW is a rip off
😂 thank you, def look at them; they ranging from 120k-400k now
Im sorry you went through that, now you know better
Lol, Even i had a friend test drive my first car for me, the 2004 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi
I hear the ST sounding so good there
Have you heard a Big Mechanical breakdown? in my second Focus in 2018 i had to replace a steering rack for about R26000
Yeah we live and learn 😂
Yeah it sounds awesome.
A engine mount broke and costed 11k to fix everything that got broken as a result of that but it was covered by my warranty

Curious, how crazy was the insurance since you bought the care so soon after getting your license?
It was R1800
@@josiahthobejane Alright. Thanks for sharing bro.
I'm subscribing just because you truthful ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Where do you go to check your vehicle history? You said it too fast there I can't make out what you said
Add more content figures attract us easier but now its like hearsay . Like my car price moved from 1200 to 5000 bcz of 123 .
How was the insurance with your license only being a few days old??
I started with Naked Insurance paying 1.8k and then moved to another insurer after a few months and paid 1.2k
Have your own inspection done at a dealer that has no benefit in you buying the car.
So if one pays a deposit , how is it helpful I paying for the car in terms of installments etc
A deposit helps lower the installments, sometimes banks require a deposit especially on much older cars that maybe be priced out of the market. The deposit needs to be huge for it to make a difference in your monthly instalment
@Josiah Thobejane Thank you so much
