Hey, just want to say that you are not alone in feeling overwhelmed, tired, frustrated, have mum guilt with motherhood. I’m also a pharmacist on mat leave with an almost 6 month old and have had days where everything was too much when little one doesn’t settle. I have also resented my husband for being able to live a “normal” life whereas I’ve sacrificed my social life to ensure I have enough sleep to cover the night feeds (although I know that this isn’t his fault and I have massive mum guilt).
I also agree with what you said ie spending time away from your baby girl and seeing family/friends. You just need to feel that you can breathe and take in what is going on around you without baby attached to you. Also communication with your husband is essential especially during times of burnout.
Since winter is drawing in, I would rather stay at home and do things that I enjoy around the house and my husband takes the baby out.
Us mamas are doing the best that we can for our babies and despite the bad days …. the rewards are so worth it when our babies look at us and smile 😊

Oh my gosh, this is such a lovely comment to someone who is struggling haha... Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and for also making me feel less alone. There are such difficult days but it feels good to know that I'm not the only one! I hope you and the little one are okay and I'm sending all my love.

I always wonder why people choose this job (to be a parent) and then complain…? Surely you’d want to prepare yoursef to be a mum before baby arrives, no?
Either way, good luck. Being a parent is obviously not easy; is a all-year, 24/7 job and it is something I’ll never be able to relate to 💙

I think it’s a lot harder than anything I’ve ever done before…and we did as much prep as we could (free and paid for NCT classes, read all the books, watched the vlogs etc) but nothing could have prepared me for the sleep deprivation that comes with the role 😭. But I don’t think of it as complaining and more like just sharing my thoughts 💕🙏

@@KOREginAPharmacistoh dear! Well, I’m glad you shared your thoughts as a new mum anyway!!
P.s - watching your old pharm videos and I may or may not be interested in pursuing a career in pharm after my OT degree 😭

Hi! I was hoping to get some advice from you. I am a FTM and a soon to be newly qualified pharmacist. I’m struggling to find something flexible, is there any advice you could give on what type of role I should go for and the type of area I should work in (this is just to keep up my registration btw!)

Hi, sorry what is an FTM? For flexibility it depends if you want a consistent, regular role. Locuming in good in terms of choosing when you work! Email me with more details and I'll see if I can help!

Followed you for the pharmacy content, stayed for the unmatched realism
I suspect of all these changes are very normal (as you know), I think you're quickly becoming more mature
its hilarious to me you think you're questioning if you're boring etc atm
