- Golf GTI Clubsport S Review - The greatest VW Golf GTI ever made.. Thjats a bold statement however in my opinion it could be true! The VW Golf GTI Clubsport S is a stripped out nurburgring special edition limited to just 400 units. Its very quick with a 0-62mph time of just 5.8. its light weight helped with the removal of the rear seats also make this a brilliant car in terms of handling.

Just build a base model. You’ll be faster, better handling, better braking, and still come out a lot cheaper than a stock Clubsport.

Owned a manual 7r and a DSG 7.5r and was given a standard Gti mk7.5 and it immediately felt better, lighter and morr agile. Think this Mk7 Clubsport S will go down as the best performance Golf, has amazing looks, VW also packaged the car well as a performance golf, lighter and all important DCC. The 50th anniversary will have to be something special, but has a hard job made harder by being a bigger car and looks arent as good. In 2016 this car came 2nd in Evo Car of the Year beating McClaren 570s and loosing only to the 911 R.

@@StefABtv Try 60k for one which has been wrapped in cotton wool and done delivery miles only...ok you can get one for 30k ..the one I looked at before I got another GOLF R had 12k miles with 4 previous owners ! which put me off ..it was a case of where has this car been and how has it been treated which sounded alarm bells....hence the 7.5 Golf R Manual 310 bhp I eventually found with all the extras 68 plate... completely different drive and to me it felt more planted and safer than the S ..and I have had STI'S in the past so can tell the difference..the R can be driven normally and still has the capacity to drop the gears and have fun where legally able...Thanks for the video ..engaging ...as I'm sure the lorry thought following you watching you test the handling.! 🤣

Yaris the clubsport suspension is very stiff
Good to know that the club sport S wouldn’t be any good as a daily if the suspension is too hard. I test drove the GR4 and it was epic but decided against getting one as I like keeping my licence too much 😂
@@StefABtv that's not true imo, i own a clubsport S and a friend of mine own's a yaris. The css has a much nicer suspension in comfort setting. I didn't even like the softness about it so i decided to go with coilovers.

Hi Stef did an Evo track evening couple of years ago at Bedford and the Evo guys had one for passenger rides, Carla did four laps loved it, I only managed one not a good passenger, he overtook a bloody Radical, can't remember who the driver was but he knew how to drive, Very impressive car ( and cost less than a Biposto ) all the best.
They are brilliant cars mate! Carla is used to being a passenger in the biposto so she can handle it 😂
400 is a weird number of units.
Guessing it has something to do with 40 years of GTI. They couldn't make 40 units 😅
