The R offers everything it doesn't and is still a blast around the roads you've mentioned. Good video as always and glad you're back with content 👍🏾😎
Thanks! Don't listen to me, the press hold the Clubsport S in much higher esteem than any R. Yes it makes sacrifices but if you want the ultimate hot hatch high it's worth it. I've made a few videos why R isn't as much fun to drive as a GTI, whether it be Mk7 R vs TCR or Mk8 Clubsport vs Mk8 R, and Clubsport S takes this even further. The R has lots of postive qualities but ultimate fun isn't high on its priorities even though it's breadth of ability is far broader.

Are mk7's going up value across the board? My VW dealer who I got my 7 R from in December 2021 is offering to by my car off me for more or less what I paid for it, nearly £20k. Is manual as well with 53k on it now. When I went to have a chat with them, I said the only car I would change it for is a 7.5 R with DSG, but they have absolutely 0 in stock, which I found unbelievable. Only car in the spec I would want is over 200 miles away and apparently has people fighting over it. They told me stock R's are like goldust now. If I had spent over a decade in high powered fwd hatches, I would go for a gti, but getting used to 4wd I can't go back.
I’d have to disagree with what you said about the Honda Civic Type R- it’s extremely comfortable and civilised in normal every day use, then rips your face off when you want it to
I was waiting for someone to point that out - I meant the previous gen car but couldn't find a photo, that one is a lot stiffer. With regards to the model in the pic, evo mag had a long termer and managed to blow both tyres on one side of the car due to a minor carriageway imperfection and the 30 section tyres on 20" wheels so I'd say it's uncompromising but not necessarily with regards to ride quality or noise.
