You have come so far from the wheelbarrow and spade days when you cleared the basement. I loved the scene with all the equipment going in every direction. The sped up motion made it more enjoyable.
My son, who works on water wells for a living, and I were talking about your well problems. He feels like you need to have a good cleanout done on your well. He thinks you were not getting ground water before it dried up. The water was built up on top of the sediment from rain before the well was covered.
It doesn't look like the well was much deeper than it is now when it was last used though. In some of the older videos you can clearly see an old submersible pump that was pretty much completely above the water.
@Ragnar8504 my son explained to me that old wells collect sediment and the pump is typically moved up for years upon years until the well becomes unusable. Of course, he hasn't seen this well and could be wrong but a cleanout is probably the least expensive way to find out. I like his plan because it would also rule out or find a collapse.
I come and binge his videos after waiting for a few to post. I have no problem with his “inconsistency” personally. What he is doing is hard and time consuming. Most of his viewers know that. Keep up the good work Dan! What you are doing is amazing!
