I'm so glad I listened to you guy's request about the GBA soundtrack. I'm listening back to this one and I'm so proud. I want to do more from this game . Perhaps the entire soundtrack but it has to be just right. Each song has to be just right.
Alright guys!! I appreciate all the love! Wow!! You guys are awesome! I have a challenge for you now! I'll do another remake from the GBA game once this hits 5K! Hey anything is possible this is the internet ;)! Let's get tah' sharin folks!
Mainly because there was no nostalgic value. I had never heard of this until people on my channel requested it. Then , I was like "WTF? THESE SONGS ARE WAY TOO INTRICATE . I knew it would be fun to do cause the soundtrack to the GBA version is way more cinematic as well
Gba soundtrack is the best cause it was redone completely by david wise, whereas the snes soundtrack was done by someone else since david wise was currently working on other tracks for other video games. But when they rereleased this for gba, Wise was free to work on these pieces.
You never fail to disappoint! The GBA tracks are so under appreciated and it’s awesome to see them getting some love, especially by such a talented channel.
YES. THIS IS SO GOOD! This song has always been in dire need of an HD rendition, and you've absolutely delivered exactly what I was looking for, great job! Keep it up! PS: I hope you'll do some more DKC 3 GBA songs, cause that OST has some fantastic tunes in it!
Niiiice. The DKC3 GBA Tracks are WAY to underappreciated. Sounds awesome man! Keep up that good work! 👍🏽 PS: if you are open for any suggestions for the future, the Waterfall Theme of DKC3 (also GBA) is absolutely beautiful. Would surely be an amazing remake.
Remarkable stuff man! I keep replaying this video and hear things you do where I just go "hell, why didn't I make my remake sound like THAT?". I really admire your skillset both composition wise and mixing in general. The GBA ost I've found to be extremely difficult to cover and although it doesn't hold any nostalgic value for me whatsoever, it absolutely bangs but on a completely different realm. And yes, as far as I know David composed the entirety of this soundtrack, IN SIX WEEKS.
Dude! I just checked out your channel. I really love your versions especially your take on this song. It sounded like it came straight from the game. The intro was really tricky for me to do but you absolutely nailed that MF. Cheers!
@@JGSMusic Well thank you! Yeah i spent weeks on fine-tuning the intro. At the end i wound up with two separate recordings i did of me playing on the head of my bongo drums mixed with me drumming with forks and knives, then carefully automating the cut off frequencies up and down. The guitar part too was a pain i remember, and i nearly downtempo'ed the song with 10 bpms just so i could muster the chords. That being said i am not a good guitar player but i am stubborn in my own ways. This now is my seventh time around coming back to this video and replaying it. You really did an outstanding job mate!
Forget about turning water into wine. JGS Music can turn shit into strawberry jam. UNBELIVABLE! I've been waiting for you to take a crack at this track for a while and it didn't disappoint. I don't know where you learned that baby but it was AMAZING! 10/10!
You really did justice to this underrated piece of david wise history! Really love the instrumentation you used and how true you tried to stay to the original song! Hope to see more gba tracks from you in the future!
I only had the SNES versions, but I have heard a few of the GBA tracks and I do love them too, especially this one. And, as usual, you've taken this track to the next level! It's absolutely beautiful to listen to!
I've been chilling to your DKC playlist all evening. You're amazing! All the years I've been listening to Donkey Kong Country remixes I can't believe that I hadn't heard your work until now!
I recently started playing DKC3 and now I'm comparing the GBA to the original soundtrack. Both have very awesome tracks. This is one if my favorites that I actually prefer over the SNES version, thanks for it. I wish I could compile a soundtrack out of both lol
Yea the SNES version was terrible in my opinion. Alot of people that requested that one on my channel really did it to challenge me so I did the remake for the SNES version for that reason. But never again
SNES DKC3 soundtrack feels more like a children's game, instead the GBA one that is composed like David Wise who is the only one that makes DK games more... I don't know how to say it but it's incredible. Anyway, good cover!!!
More like a children's game? Did you play past the first world? There are several GBA tracks that sound more childish than the SNES equivalents. I'd say it evens out.
I cannot wait for specifically: Water World, Enchanted River (underwater,) Rockface Rumble, Treetop Tumble, Nuts & Bolts, Cascade Capers, Jungle Jitters, and Frosty Frolics. and poisonous pipeline. Pot-hole Panic will be nice too.
If someone ever does a remake of DKC3, they should use the SNES and GBA tracks alike to spice up the OST. Maybe bring in the GBA version's extra world and extra boss too.
Omg thank you for doing this song!!!! I've been waiting to see a remake of it!!!!! I've always loved your remakes. You always keep the classic feel to it. Please tell me you did the GBA version pokey pipes!
This track isn't one of my favorites from the game, but your cover has some richness and depth that the original didn't even have. Well done! I'd LOVE to see what you could do with Waterfall (Cascade Capers). There's so few remixes of it, but it's such a beautiful piece of music, even coming out of a GBA. At least give it a listen for yourself.
@@JGSMusic yes, David Wise knocked it out of the park as he always does. Shame so few people are familiar with these tunes. Great work on the rest of your channel by the way. I like how faithful you are to the originals while still upgrading the sound quality a bit.
Awesome remix! I think it could use a lot less dynamic compression, but it's otherwise excellent! This kicks the pants off the SNES version of this song. Keep up the great work!
when I hit 10k subs I will start a patreon where people can support me. I will have a few downloads available when that happens. Thanks. and please share
I appreciate you. I am actually super late in the game of doing this sort of content. There have been so many classic remixes already done by so many legends. I'm so happy to have the ability to make stuff like this. Many many more to come 🔥 💪
This is the only song for the gba remake that I like (and I hate the snes version of it, but love the rest of the original soundtrack). Your rendition of it is amazing!
After being introduced to the GBA soundtrack I went and studied each song and I agree. This one ended up being the best one to me , so I had to bring it back to life. Glad you enjoy. Please share ;)
That looks like the DKC4 rom that fans made. In the rom you can play as the four previous kongs and the levels are mixed terrain assets from all three dkc games. You'll be playing a level starting in the jungle from dkc1 then immediately change into factory level from dlc 3

The sound hertz on the GBA was just made lower in order to fit on the sound card, but those songs were actually bigger that the SNES arrangements
