This game is a masterpiece. While the original banjo kazooie gave away jiggies for merely navigating the map, jiggies hold much more value here. This game really challenged me and I've learned to concentrate my attention on a single task much more in life because of this. Running around the map without a clear intention will keep you running in circles, focus is the key. Tooie is clearly meant to challenge a more mature audience and even has the darker theme to go along with it.

This level was critical in developing how I viewed systems later on. Every part of it is like a real factory, all placed with intent. Moreso two resources from two different words are brought here. That being Jolly Roger bay water and hail fire peak oil to produce the toxic sludge used later on in cauldron keep. A tiny bit of world building that always inspired me as a kid. Thanks again for the video.

If this level were to be remade in the future. It would definitely need a way to separate each floor with a different theme and color pallete.

No other level gives you that feeling of truly conquering every room, floor and aspect like Grunty Industries.

As someone who appreciates difficult video game levels more after modern day video games have become too easy, Grunty Industries and Rusty Bucket Bay have become some of my most favourite video game levels. Also, gotta give props to the level designers. Not only is this level ridiculously interconnected and dense, but the fact they managed to make it so and make it work is impressive!
Oh, and speaking of Rusty Bucket Bay, if I may brag for a bit... Recently I managed to beat the entire level in one single attempt. No lives lost. Including only a single attempt at the jiggy that requires those two switches to be hit in the engine room.
I hope to get better at Banjo-Tooie so I can do impressive things with that game one day. Recently started replaying it and fell in love all over again. Today's haters just have no patience.

I dunno. I used to love Banjo Kazooie but as I started to replay it I just didn't enjoy it like I did as a kid. Not sure if it's because I grew out of the genre. I always loved Banjo Tooie much more thanks to the hub world, level and their connectativity and the bosses. Also loved the music more in Tooie. Granted I haven't touched Banjo Tooie since I was a kid and at this point I'm kind of afraid I'd hate it and ruin it for me. I don't remember much of this world honestly. Don't think I spend a lot of time in this world at all tbh. Anyhow interesting episode.

Banjo Tooie is the best rare has done in my opinion. I liked the interconnecticity and the world design in general. Sure, it’s not as linear as Banjo Kazooie and involves a hell lot of backtracking, but that makes the charme for me, cause by that, the level feel like they really belong to one giant world.

I just wanna say that I enjoy Tooie too... ie.... and that "Flawed" does not mean "bad". Heck while I enjoy Kazooie more than it's sequel, I still think that Tooie is a good game! Frankly, I think the bosses are by and large better than the original as well. I LIKE that every world has a boss. We spend enough time in each one for it to be worth it after all. They also got rid of the quiz show... mmmmostly. She still pops out some "real time" quizzes in the final battle. As much as people praise the variety that quiz show adds, frankly, I don't play platformers for the story or to memorize dull factoids. I'd rather get on with the adventure! It's fortunate there's exploits to let me skip that part of Kazooie.
