    Just goes to show how much Cnc machine tools and the software that generates the tool paths has improved since this was made.You would get strung up using this method today.

      +Carlos today i maschinning kaplan and pelton blades or komplet pelton from full material on cnc horizontal boring mill WOTWN RAPID 1 WITH Heidenhain 530i an i using Cimatron for programming.

    whoaaa,isnt this gonna bend from the welding or you did some heat treatment after weldeng and before mashining?and what kind of material is best for these aplications?btw it looks outstanding.

      Helo yes the heat treatment is on 880 C material is St52-3 good for welding the bushes is from VCMo140 950N/mm2 and plasma coated thanks for answer you are appriciated.The weight is 1600 kg.

    Slow machining because that is an old machine and those type of older horizontal mills don't have very high spindle speeds. We have 2, WHN 13 CNC TOS machines that only have 1500 rpm max spindle rpm. Not suitable for small milling cutters. Our newer TOS has 3500 rpm as does our Fermat. Plus, when you're finishing a part that has to be as angularly accurate as possible, you don't want heavy cutting forces.

    who cares... its an expensive part that is probably rc 40+ .
