I have a Lazatti LA-60 made in Italy 1962, in good condition for it's age. I need to remove the rotary table as well to check the bearings and relube. This is interesting to watch and I'll have to check for any special alignment marks. Thanks for sharing.
On My commercial fishing vessel I have large vertically mounted water pumps. to keep them from rusting horribly I fill the recesses in the body with toilet bowl wax mixed with paraffin. it is soft enough to dig out if necessary but firm enough not to collect dirt and stuff and bounds well to the painted steel and prevents water from sitting and causing rust and bad odors.
Oh lovely memories, did this about 7 years ago on our TOS W100A machine to service it as one of the bearings under the table got damaged. The stink of old coolant and oil and grime inside that rotating mount was a bit awful, but managed it. We had the same thing regarding the position of the table, lifted up slowly a little and looked like the worm screw wasn't gonna let go, so careful examination with a light showed that in one spot of the worm gear ring was a flat and discovered the same 'M' stamped on the outside on that side. What is more amazing is that you can still get spare parts for this, we had a clutch arm failure and got new parts for it, and also with the serial number of the machine, the TOS factory can make you proper size drawbolts for a reasonable price.
I got a used 1985 TOS SN50B lathe in 2020 and I can still get all replacement parts needed to keep it running. I am confident that this lathe will not stop making parts for at least 50 more years. So far I have rebuilt the compound slide, added a 60 position indexing quick change toolpost (my idea), made a milling attachment, and I plan to do the cross-slide when I get some moglice for the nut (restoring the wear in the slideways will bring an original nut out of alignment except if Yuri knows any tricks for this) and I might have the bed reground parallel to the keepers as soon as I get a second lathe to pass some work to that while doing it (there is almost 0,5mm of year accumulated over 35 years of producing parts for fishing boats). It still runs perfect apart from some small oil drips here and there (still very precise despite the wear, which is a sign of a well designed and built machine) and I want to eventually get it almost as good as new again! I am debating if I should get an electronic leadscrew but I find it sad to put such a well designed and built feed mechanism out of order.
Thanks for sharing. Experience is only gained through doing and having the honesty to detail mistakes to others when you make them. Good video and excellent work by a skilled team 👏
We have similarly unloaded the table on our union wmw machine while replacing the Nut of cross slide here in India. The table needs to be handled Very Gently.
I actually almost did the same thing but I didn't go further to damage the table or mount. This should be viewed by people who are not aware because it can be dangerous and costly.
Thank you, right now we are only using free royalty music as it cost a bit more to get an actually music. So soon once we get more supporters. thank you

Apart from the horrible techno music, a really good video. Nice to see someone who knows his stuff.
