the main thing with IDPA is to understand that it is a game. As long as you understand that you're going to develop "gaming" mindset and training yourself that way then go for it. 1) Too many new shooters try to shoot too fast. My recomondation is go slow and be accurate. Do worrry about the timer. Go for hits. Get comfortable with safe weapons handling. Loading, unloading and holstering. Some clubs offer orrientation that can be helpful too. Good luck.
In general, always go full size if possible. So the G17 would be a great option. I own a couple of the G17 and the G19s. The Gen 4 version is an improvement. So you'll enjoy it. Do replace the sights and the connector.
So true, I don't see buying two pistols same size but just different caliber when you have that option. But people have grown and they do what they want to do I have a Storm Lake conversion barrel for my G35
@@therond.patron4959 is that barrel hood for competition? I was thinking about the G34. But I would rather the G35 and by a conversion barrel. But I will mainly shoot 9mm. So I was curious if those conversion barrels would work, and also do the come threaded to put a compensator on it. I own the G19,21SF,23,29sf all Gen 3. I live in CA.
Both would serve you well. The Glock 34 is specifically set up with competition in mind so for just a bit more money it's a bit better right out-of-the-box. If I DPA was all I was doing that I would lean towards the Glock 34
I own 5 glocks, one being a 17 and one being a 35. Nice thing about the 35 is you can swap out to a 9mm conversion barrel from lone wolf, use G17 mags and you have a Glock 34. Just a thought for those considering the two.
The issues with the Gen 4s are fixed. Fit of the pistol is better as is the grip texture. Think you'd be happy with the Gen 4. I'd suggest you hold both then deciede.
Guns, Gear & On Target Training, LLC Stock I actually prefer the grip of the Gen 3 over the Gen 4 ..... but I'm mostly a 1911 and big bore revolver guy. Great video even 4 years after the fact. Thanks 🔫✝🇺🇸👫👍
for those who have little knowledge make sure when you buy the connector it doesnt need any type of mods...in that case you need to be very careful...i personally polished every single part inside my gun which os a g37 and i swear it feels like the connector does..other than the reset...you keep the same reset...yet you get such a smoother trigger...saves a lil time and ripping the gun down etc..try a good polish job on your trigger assembly and the firing/ejector rods if its the way you like!!
Just took my new "to me" G35 gen 3 out today. What a delightful gun to shoot. Very little difference recoil wise compared to my G17 gen 4 and super accurate. I picked up some Federal aluminium 180gr cheap Wal Mart ammo and to my surprise it shot better than the brass Win 165gr. At 7 yds it was a ragged hole. Pleasant surprise when your gun likes cheap ammo!
Hi I am looking to buy a G34 I often shoot 25 meters precission competition. I do think other sights might be in order to maximise my potential pts-outcome. what sights would be good for that purpose ?
i was planning on replacing the sights for sure...sights are one of my biggest gripes ( really my main one...the other being the grip angle...it just feels kinda weird ) about glocks .I'm leaning more towards the gen 3 until they figure out the issues with the gen 4's
I just got a 35 with a 9m drop in barrel. I don't know if you have had your hands on one, but I was curious as to your preference between a 34 or a 35 w/9m drop in.
Great video,Which one was the most accurate pistol look too close to tell without getting out old the ruler. I'd love see a shoot off against the, best 5" barrel competition factory designed pistols: XDM 5.25, M&P9L Pro Ser., Walther PPQ 5"M2, Glock 34, P226 5" and maybe few I don't know about.
Hey wishse, I have been thinking about doing IDPA and I was wondering if there are any drills you would suggest that would help me prepare, or any standards I should try to obtain before I enter into a match? Also, I have been debating between getting a Glock 34 or 35, which is how I stumbled upon your video.
can you run a standard glock 34 in the 35 I have a lone wolf barrel that i purchased but because of its tight tolerances it is picky on ammo I wasn't sure if the outside diameter of the 9mm factory barrel would be to sloppy in the 40 slide to function
Frank, thanks for the suggestion. I agree with you. Regrettably, I have a significant handicap with my left hand and arm. I do the best I can. Bottom line, thanks for watching and commenting.
Guns and Gear & On Target Training, LLC Hi there, have you considered looking into getting a Speed Ledge? Apparently they help with grip and recoil by giving your left thumb a lever to hold onto. Not sure if it would help in your circumstance, but they look like a good idea to improve control. Anyway, great video, thanks for sharing your experiences with these fine pistols, the Glock 35 is the front runner in my shopping list for 1st gun.
Thanks for watching and commenting. You're accurate with your assessment. Regrettably the physical handicap with my left hand and arm, doesn't allow me as much control as I would like. Stay safe...
Interesting set up. I have not tried the G35 with a drop in 9mm barrel. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you Heisenberg, good review.
😂

Sir, thank you for watching. That conversion is a great way to shoot both calibers. Thank you for sharing that suggestion with the subscribers.

If you buy a G35 and a lone wolf 40/9 conversion barrel you basically have both guns.

The M&P fits by hand better but I've shot the Glocks for so long I still consider them "homebase"... Can't go wrong with Glocks!
Thank you for your kind words!

Glock's are great performers!
Thanks for the clarification. I replaced the connector with the 3.5 lb. Works better for me. Thanks for watching. Hope you'll subscribe!
Thanks, Heisenberg
It makes a big difference
Hi I am looking to buy a G34
I often shoot 25 meters precission competition.
I do think other sights might be in order to maximise my potential pts-outcome.
what sights would be good for that purpose ?
NH is the live free or die state. A pro gun state...

very nice pistols...love the sights you have on them...how do you like those two glocks in comparison to the M&Pl or pro?
Thank you for making such an awsome video. If it weren't for you & hickock 45 there wouldn't be any good G35 videos out there.
I just got a 35 with a 9m drop in barrel. I don't know if you have had your hands on one, but I was curious as to your preference between a 34 or a 35 w/9m drop in.
No sir, but I know folks who have. Thanks for watching. Hope you'll subscribe!

yo Mr. White
Thanks, please check out the other vids and subscribe to the channel.
Any experience with firing a 34 or 35 that has been ported?
I don't own a glock...yet, I'm torn between the 19 and 17.
it's not going to be a carry gun so i am leaning toward the 17...any thoughts?
Get it
LOL... I haven't broken bad just yet!
I'm going to start doing IDPA should i get a Glock 17 or 34 ???
At4 and a frag grenade you will have the quickest times
Glock 34/35 is supposedly built around 40. And with some loads, you can crank out 10mm numbers
So it is actually built around the 40, as opposed to the 22 that was just the Glock attempt to get it out faster than Smith and Wesson?
@@Catgat37 Not sure about the glock 22. I know the 34/35 was .40 first
Thank you so much !! God bless
Cual es mejor 34 o 35?
let me save you seven minutes. g34 is a 9mm, g35 is a 40. there you go. the only difference
More or less but the G35 is heavier and more tailored to cartridge than majority of models. Not exactly like comparing the 26 & 27 or 19 & 23.
Nice shooting
Thanks for your kind words. I hope you'll subscribe.
HEISENBURG!
Breaking Bad with Heisenberg. Sponsored by Glock.
I have a twin
The 9mm was invented on a 124gr bullet and 4in barrel
You are correct! Thanks for watching.
I clicked because I thought it was Mas Ayoob.
Glock 35 leas recoil than 22?
+Instinctive Firearm Reviews Less recoil than the Glock 22 (.40)
+Guns, Gear & On Target Training, LLC Thank you
you could benifit from a stronger grip, pistol jumping all over the place.
Frank, thanks for the suggestion. I agree with you. Regrettably, I have a significant handicap with my left hand and arm. I do the best I can. Bottom line, thanks for watching and commenting.
fair enough

Your control over the .40 isn't so great.... Id stick with 9mm if I were you.

It's a 40, it has lots of 'flip'.....he's has a excellent group
+Guns, Gear & On Target Training, LLC sir you shoot 40sw very well better than most I know. It's all about proper technique.
New Hampshire lets you own glocks?
Very good video sir. you rock.
