I have a Zedruu deck and one time some guy was going nuts and nobody could keep up so i gave him a consecrated Sphinx and then used Fractured identity and everyone got to draw their whole deck and boy did he lose. That was fun
@@Boltun1976 Why not? It says whenever a player draws a card, you may draw 2 cards. So if me and another guy both have Sphinxes, when I draw a card, he could draw 2, then since he drew 2 cards, I can draw 4, etc. It definitely works.
With thought lash you can leave it around until your upkeep, choose not to pay the upkeep cost, and before the trigger resolves donate it to an opponent. Trigger resolves but you don't own it anymore you just exiled all their cards. When they die it will come back to you and you can do the same thing
The tokens that fractured identity dont count for zedruu's ability. The tokens entered the battlefield under the opponents control so it counts as them owning it. It's sad I know.
Fractured isn't necessarily about triggering Zedruu as it is just doing it to fuck your opponent with stuff. If you can't gift it, fracture it and what's more EVERYONE but you gets a copy. May not trigger on Z but how do you think everyone at the table would feel if you had a Though Lash and then Fractured it. Pretty salty I'd be willing to bet lol.
Btw if you donate curse of Opulence to someone else they'll get the gold instead of you. I played Zedruu for a while. In my experience the best performers were perplexing chimera (people are terrified of this guy, and you really don't care if they use it on you), sunforger / mistveil plains, sun titan (we have tons of stuff to recur), rainbow vale, and a whole slew of useful enchantments that don't care about the owner: oath of leiges, howling mine, nevermore, pacifism (and co). Also trading lands with vedalken plotter is an easy way to get zedruu triggers. Hands down the card that wins the most games though is Thieve's auction, the second I play it people scoop XD I do want to rebuild it with a bunch of the newer cards that came out recently, to the brewery!
Why? It reads 'Whenever enchanted player is attacked, create a colorless artifact token named Gold.' which is referring to the current controller, which you're not if you gift it to someone else. Sure, the second part still applies if you attack them yourself, but if not you get no gold.
No. When the curse enters the battlefield you chose a player. That player is affected by the effect of the curse. It doesn't matter who controls it it still has the same effect on the player you chose.
Yes, that player is still cursed, that hasn't changed at all, but the controller of the curse has changed (via Zedruu), and the controller is the one that benefits from the first clause.
I don't think Celestial Dawn trick works any more as the colour restriction rule is gone, also whilst not brilliant Conjured Currency is a hoot in multiplayer
I find that Steel Golum and Grid Monitor are not very effective because they die pretty quickly when they just block attacks with them. Most of the time they don't even make it around the table to activate Zedruus ability.
Why doesn't this work? Obviously, you'll have to use Mind Bend to change the text to swamp, but it should still work with Lashwrithe and Celestial Dawn.
@@chrisokeefe1884 cause commander rules changed so that before you couldn't use colors outside your commanders colors now you can and secondly you cant play lashwrithe in zedruu its equip cost is black
Could you please make a political pillowfort sen triplets deck that focuses on staying alive and fun group interaction, maybe pseudo group hug in a way. Could possibly aim to win with azor's elocutors. "filibuster" is just fun to say. Thanks man
Your deck tech doesn't do much to address Zedruu's weaknesses. Specifically, I'm referring to how much this version depends on the commander being on the field. I used to have a build just like this. And when your opponents don't know what to expect, then it wrecks face. But most people have figured out how janky it can be, now. My newest iteration is an aggro deck, that sub theme's Zedruu's donate ability. Wayyyy more consistent....And still janky. :D
If you want to build this deck competitively, you would play it as stax. Remove all the zedruu dependent cards like swath or golem and replace with rest on peace or the orbs and spheres.
These are literally just all the top cards from each card type on EDH rec??

@@Boltun1976 Yes, so if you and another player want to draw a bunch of cards you can draw as long as the other wants to.

tragically fixed, Oracle Text "When a player doesn't pay Thought Lash's cumulative upkeep, that player exiles all cards from his or her library."
Don't tell the people in my playgroup that ok.
hehe, no worries, our group's 'rules guy' only told me about the change 3 months ago, its still reasonable card when played honest

I'm surprised you didn't add Delusions of Mediocrity.
