what was most shocking to me about Moffat's writing of the first doctor was the shocked reaction of Bill being a lesbian when in the Big Finish Audios the first doctor had a gay companion called Oliver Harper and was perfectly ok with his orientation and I'm really annoyed that when the first visited the Testimony's spaceship I thought Susan was emerge but it was Bill and the fact that the Captain was Lethbridge Stewart a double bluff when people first speculated it was him. I wanted it to be Viscount Byng the Commissioner of London Police who popularised police boxes or Gilbert Mackenzie the man who invented the police box design. Or as a really cool twist I would have had the Captain be a pre-Delgado incarnation of the Master whom is working as a CIA agent attacking the Gelth whom I would have made the glass people be their physical form before loosing it in the Time War. As well as the story not resolving the 50th annivesary special.
I like how Nardole's just standing way in the background, like he's watching over them in before Twelve's demise. Like he's an omen of death. Like he IS death
I'm not entirely keen on the first doctor's new last lines, Moffat had already messed up his character, and now, those will be his last words for the rest of time. And Moffat just had to make them be referring to his era, his doctor. It's just selfish, to change something so iconic into a reference to something that doesn't happen for over a dozen incarnations. If he wanted to at least reference the twelfth doctor in a tasteful way, why couldn't his new last words be a rehash of "it's far from being all over"? Those original words were much more fitting, mysterious and iconic than "keep warm." And it wouldn't have been completely out of place if he'd said it again at the end of the episode, referencing his earlier statement, but now with somewhat of a new meaning, with a newfound realization of just how accurate that estimation was. It would have actually worked out of context, and it's making some rather iconic words the first doctor's rightful last lines.
I agree with this, if you are going to recreate the 1st Doctor and have him regenerate, at least keep his last lines relatively untouched and make sure you get a robot duplicate that actually looks like him. Also, what is with these robot duplicates. First the Daleks got hold of one, then there was that one that got time scooped and now they've got one here. Seriously, where do they all keep coming from? Do they keep escaping from a Gallifrey muesum exhibit on the life of the Doctor? Maybe that's where this story takes place, in an exhibit on the 1st Doctor's regeneration. That would explain the inaccurate of the TARDIS, the Cybermen, Polly's costume being pink and everyone not having the correct faces.
Great video guys! I personally really really enjoyed this story. I found it poetic and deeply reminiscant of the character of the twelfth doctor. I don't think his doctor would have suited a bombastic ending like 10 or 11 (even though I agree that his ending line in the doctor falls would have been a beautiful end).

I thought of his last line was Moffat talking not Capaldi necessarily, just because Moffat has had control of the show and specifically the character for so long, he has let him go because I' pretty sure (Unless the BBC was kicking him out) he could have stayed on.
Goodby Moffit, you wrote some good stories... about 9 years ago... and since then you've written some really mediocre stuff and a lot of really bad stuff, and generally done a good job of running Doctor Who into the ground and alienating your core audience.
