I haven't experienced it myself yet but just from these videos the Griffon looks like they are the most realistic flying mounts in any game I have seen. Sure they have trouble taking off from the ground, some birds and many bats have the same problem but you don't casually explore the sky box like flying mounts on lesser MMOs. You have to take the mount's physics, stamina and speed into the equation to battle against gravity _just like real flying._
NOPE... its not .... its actually gaining altitude. i have did this only one and thought it was some kinda bug but after watching this video and google and found that griffon can fly...
This is the video that made me want to learn how to use the Griffon to its full potential. I remember getting bored with the game 'cause I've already done most of the content and the main thing that I'm doing is just mindless gold farming. Then I saw this video pop in my recommendations, and my mind was blown. At that time I already knew that the Griffon could do the superspeed, but it didn't occur to me that you could actually do all these stunts lol. Then I fanboyed after meeting Orpan in game hahaha. Thank you for the inspiration \m/
Good on them tho. Good alternative for “flight” for the Dragon Isles. Also gives them a chance for some How to Train your Dragon esc fun with the players, if done right.
Actually it's quite possible but on private server, AND, with a humongous amount of memory, CPUs stack, 3D memory, etc.. But if the preload limit is off, you can load all the map at once, and then watch your PC burn to the ground !
I recently got into the game, recently picked up the griffon. I knew this mount would be my favorite and I have very little flying time still. I'm not as comfortable yet to do even something close to this. Your flying gave me chill no joke. I hope I can manage things like that in the near future. Lovely video, thank you !

Well if that ain't flying, then I'm a Charr. I was told to "go for the Skyscale first" because the Griffon was "useless in comparison", but I love the speed of the Griffon so I'mma go for it asap! I also like the concept of Griffons better than drakes!

This stunts are something else. I know that Griffon is incredible mount with really high speed. I was yousing this mount just to fast travel across the map from point A to point B. But after I discover your videos, I was like "Heh, lets do this!" And right now, I just trying to do exact this stunt with my fully mastered griffon and learning this moves so I can move to another location. Its hard, it will me take a lots of time, before it will looked so smooth, but its fun as hell. Really thank you for these videos, because you inspired me to try it and discover a new way to have fun in this game :D
The skyscale is better for actually getting around and up things.... the griffon is faster if you are already up high... the griffon is almost useless unless you already have a high starting point... which the skyscale can help you get to.

Skyscale is cool and all, but in terms of value, you get a lot more for your time getting the griffon, since it’s relatively easy to get compared to skyscale, and flies just as well when used correctly 😎
I had to rewatch the video once I realised you spent almost 4 minutes zooming through the map and NEVER LOSE ALTITUDE! And nice choice of skin btw. UPDATE: I thought I'd drop this: Divinity's Reach is a great place to practice flying. You can TELEPORT FOR FREE within the zone to PALACE WAYPOINT in The Upper City, from there you can mount the Griffon and climb the glass dome, highest point in the city, in under 20 seconds! This great for new flyers since it minimizes downtime. Whenever you crash, which happens a lot at first, just tp back up instantly, climb the dome again and resume flying.

I don't have the griffon yet (have everything but 200 gold), but I'm not even sure if I want the skyscale anymore. I didn't even know they could pull up from a dive like that, and here I was thinking the griffon was just a fast glider.
I. as a long-time WoW-player, watch these videos and think about, how awesome it would be, if mounts would kinda work like in GW2. This "natural" form of flying would be so awesome. And maybe it could be like: Dragons etc. fly like this Griffon, a helicopter or bee like mount, could fly just like any other mount in WoW but is slower, rockets are very fast but slow when it comes to taking curves etc. and you would need to land. You can't just stop on the spot, you also can't do an instant 180° turn without any animation and you can't just hit the spacebar to go straight up. It would feel so so so good to land in a major city with that!
I heard of many ppl who play GW2 and WoW, that the mount system in GW2 is the best one they know so far. Even newer mmos like FF XIV don't have mounts who move like this. I wonder why, because it brings so much fun into the game and gameplay.
@@Karfunkelfuchs I think, it's the same reason why The combat system in Dark Souls isn't like in Devil May Cry. Of course, in DMC it is more flashy and cool but it wouldn't fit in DS. In WoW you have 100% control over your mount and for many players that might be enjoyable and practical, but I would just love to fly through this enormous open world just to land in my main city. And ride my dragon to a area that is dedicated to start flying, start running and then take a leap at the end and fly away. But that wouldn't be as practical as that 100% control thing that is going on in WoW. Sadly.
@@ansems3309 Yeah, I think it would be cool to have a mount in GW2 whats silimar to a flying WoW mount. Skyscale is close to it, but still different. I like it how many skins are in WoW. There are so many animals you can use as mounts. I may play WoW one day because my BF likes it, and of course I will aim for a griffon haha, but also for dragons. I also love the blue, flying fox thingy. I saw that skin once.
Those who say Skyscale is an advanced version of a Griffin should stop it instantly...they are complete opposites of each other, while griffin basically utilizes the speed of the roller beetle and the descending character of Skimmer's floating, Skyscale, on the other hand, uzilizes the surges of the raptor and handling the vertical obstacles typical for the Springer. Once you have Skyscale and Griffin, you basically do not need any other mounts (ofc, I did not mention Jackal which is necessary for its sand portal transporting). Many of my friends also say that Griffin is much more fun than Skyscale which is more about accuracy, but most of them say so because they are burnt out after the overcomplicated achievements required to unlock the Skyscale :D

@@ansems3309 Yeah, I think it would be cool to have a mount in GW2 whats silimar to a flying WoW mount. Skyscale is close to it, but still different. I like it how many skins are in WoW. There are so many animals you can use as mounts. I may play WoW one day because my BF likes it, and of course I will aim for a griffon haha, but also for dragons. I also love the blue, flying fox thingy. I saw that skin once.
@@Karfunkelfuchs yeah, Gw2 has in my opinion, the best mount system of any mmo I've played, by far.
Those who say Skyscale is an advanced version of a Griffin should stop it instantly...they are complete opposites of each other, while griffin basically utilizes the speed of the roller beetle and the descending character of Skimmer's floating, Skyscale, on the other hand, uzilizes the surges of the raptor and handling the vertical obstacles typical for the Springer. Once you have Skyscale and Griffin, you basically do not need any other mounts (ofc, I did not mention Jackal which is necessary for its sand portal transporting). Many of my friends also say that Griffin is much more fun than Skyscale which is more about accuracy, but most of them say so because they are burnt out after the overcomplicated achievements required to unlock the Skyscale :D
Insane :3 the skillcap in gw2 is so high its sometimes absurd. Be it pve or pvp
griffon doesnt take skill nor do any of the mounts. youre overrating gw2 mounts.
