this is a quick tutorial for how to crochet an earflap / bonnet type of hat!
perfect for winter and versatile ❄️🧶✨
this tutorial is mostly beginner friendly, but you should know some basics such as how to make a magic ring, different stitches, and how to increase and decrease.
it takes me under 2 hours to make and only uses a 5 mm crochet hook, medium weight acrylic yarn, and scissors.

i’m lost on round 13? i did the 3 dec but i’m not sure how i’m supposed to get from 66 to 53

ima try it anyway but do you think a weight three yarn would make much of a difference
omg i love the look of this pattern! im definitely going to be making this soon, but i have 2 quick questions! do you know how much yarn you used (or like what brand and how many skeins) and how would i adjust the pattern if need be? do i need to add rows to follow the pattern back in the rounds vefore the gazillion double crochet? thanks!
tysm 😇not sure of the exact amount of yarn but the type i used is acrylic red heart brand in medium weight size 4, and one skein makes like 3 hats i believe!
and to adjust it to make it bigger you would add rows and continue the pattern from before the repeating dc rounds so after round 6 (the inc, dc 4 repeat to get 66 round) it would be round 7 (increase, dc in next 5 stitches and repeat until you get 77. )
and then you would just do the rest of the rounds but instead of decreasing to get 53 on round 13 you’d decrease to get 66, and then next round decrease to get 53 and then the rest of the pattern remains the same. that was very wordy but i hope it somewhat helps 😭❤️

The area for true face is much too small, I ended up with only 8 stitches for the area.
it’s so cute but it turned out small even tho i have a small head 😫
ahh i’m sorry they are lowkey too form fitting i need to adjust the pattern 😭😭
