I've always found it hard to start beanies from the top rather than the bottom ribbing but thanks to this amazing tutorial I was able to create a nice beanie with earflaps and an pompom on top. Thank you so much for this tutorial!
HAha, I love it! I love this beanie for a couple reasons! It's super basic so you can change the colors for so many different looks PLUS the flat canvas makes it easy to attach things such as ears for an animal beanie, patches for themed beanies for sports or characters, and a pompom or two. I hope you have SO much fun! 🤗❤️🧶✨
Fantastic tutorial. I sometimes find crochet videos difficult to follow but found yours really straightforward and I’m now ending the day with a brand new hat, thank you so much!
I've been looking for an easy beanie/hat tutorial so I can make a frog one that I found on Pinterest a while ago! Super happy I found this tutorial... with some modifications making the frog hat will be easy. Thanks so much
tip. This project is extremely susceptible to tension. Ive made a bunch of these (thanks for the tutorial Tiffany), and they turn out vastly different sizes depending on my mood, even with the same yarn and hook. So just watch your tension, try the beanie on, by row 10 it should be a bit loose and youre on the right track.
What I did is follow your instructions upto what part would be decent for my head (coz I'm a small asian female), and a size up to the round of the increase with single crochet x13 was good for me. Basically to those confused and complain that your guide was wrong blah3x. You can get this tutorial as your guide but not 100% of a guide because you still need to make sure YOUR own head is measured for your work! ❤ I love this tutorial. I made a yellow bunny beanie
Awesome pattern! I used this to make a hat I now really love. This may be due to different tension, or slightly different yarn weight, or a slightly different width of hook, but I did find this pattern yielded a very large hat. I personally stopped increasing after round six and found that to fit my (pretty big) head nicely. I also omitted 2 rounds entirely for the length to be more appropriate. Don't be afraid to play around with this to get your own perfect fit. Overall very easy to follow and extremely helpful tutorial!!
Hi! I just want to thank you for your help with my beginning of crochet! I can now go get my first yarn and needle. I have watched many videos and yours is the easiest to follow!
What a great tutorial! You are a very good teacher - thorough, easy to understand and a really good pace. Thank you so much for helping so many of us (myself included) to understand how to make a beanie-type hat. I look forward to following more of your tutorials.
I only needed 4 rows of the of the no increase before the ear flaps instead of the 6 it calls for, but I made it both ways and gave the bigger one to my hubby
Awesomeness 🤗 I just made 2 hats; one with ear flaps and braids and one without! Both are great! They were fun to make too! I love your tutorials. No pressure! Keep them coming! 😍
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS WORK!!!!! I have wanted this super hat for a very long time and now I found you!! Great video where everything is clear and simple!! I'm very happy, thank you very much!! ❣️❣️❣️
Great tutorial!! I will be making this for my family members in their favorite colors. If I get started now I should be able to make 1 for everyone and have them ready by the time beanie weather comes back around this fall. Thanks!!

Thanks so much for your terrific video. I tried two other Beanie patterns and failed horribly. I finished my beanie yesterday watching your video and it’s great!
Hi Tiffany, I just finished this hat and can I say, ADORABLE, EASY and FUN!!! I am going on an Alaskan cruise this summer and it is going with me. Thank you so much for the video. I will for sure be making more in my future. ❤
Just got back from my cruise and the weather was absolutely beautiful!!! I was bummed that I wasn’t able to wear my beanie. I guess I’ll have to book another Alaska cruise. 😅
Thank you for sharing and explaining so clearly... I already made one for my daughter and it looked perfect but I am making one for her father who is bigger and I want to know how to adapt it so that it is a little bigger
Great question! I recommend you getting the free pattern by clicking the link in the description section below the video. The pattern actually has a breakdown of how to make this beanie in every size you can think of including adult large. It's just a matter of what round increase you will go to at the top. 😊❤️🧶
Great question! YES! The idea is that each increase round in the beginning will stand for a specific size. If you add one more round of increases that should get you the next size up. Definitely check out the free pattern connected to this tutorial. The link is in the description section. The pattern includes all the different size instructions. 😊❤️🧶
I will be using this to make Craig’s hat from South Park thank you

ooh love a good beanie.
what size of yarn (in mm) did you use?
Could you share a video where we can switch colours when making a beanie
Hi! Love the pattern. unfortunately the hat is a little small for me, can I just make it bigger by increasing a few more rows?
Great question! YES! The idea is that each increase round in the beginning will stand for a specific size. If you add one more round of increases that should get you the next size up. Definitely check out the free pattern connected to this tutorial. The link is in the description section. The pattern includes all the different size instructions. 😊❤️🧶
