This hat has been trendy all over the crochet world of Instagram & Pinterest since the beginning of this Winter. It has actually been around for a very long time, my grandma made one for my mom like half a century ago 🐝🧶 So it's not an original design, which could be made in different stitches, style and textures.
I was inspired, then decided to plan out my own pattern, and simplified into a super quick & easy project. Now everyone can make and use it 💗 Such a great project for beginners!
Every detail regarding the foundation chain, how to change color, and finishing technique was clearly demonstrated in this video. So even if you've never crocheted before, don't be afraid. Just gather all you need, and follow me!

mine came out too small too!! but still love it. i used a single spool of yarn that had a gradient of colours and it came out really cute. but i would definitely love to try a striped hat next time.
My friend just made a hat like this and it no joke is able to unroll to past my neck lol. Theyre able to roll it up and make it look normal but its kind of funny sometimes

As a 12 yr old crochet-lover, I've always wanted to make a cat ear beanie so I asked my grandma to make me one and she did (it was beautiful and she didn't need a pattern). Hey! I am wondering how this will work out for the cat ears, since it's all the same width. Does it actually look like the cat ear hats?
i made this in a few hours yesterday before going to meet friends and they all loved it! it also looked good on anyone who tried it XD. i sewed the top with two yarn strings of the opposite color in a whip stitch. then i tied off both ends and instead of weaving in the excess, i brushed out the yarn (it was 4 ply) and tied them into tassels! obsessed with it 😍

I made mine really big on purpose since i have a big head, and i love how saggy and cute it is. I did have to improvise and pinch (sew) the ears a bit together and it really pulled through. Thank you for this great tutorial!

I love this pattern, thank you so much! I must have a large head, I needed 75 stitches per row and 17 rows wasn't enough so I added 6-8 more rows. Maybe my tension wasn't right or something, idk but I Absolutely love this hat 🥰

My hook is smaller then the one in tutorial so the stitches were smaller too i needed 95 just to fit my head i didn't even make extra stitches. Now I'm regretting TwT
My head is very small, so I didn't need more stitches, but I just did the 17th row and I definitely have to make more as the hat doesn't cover my ears right now 😅

@@crxcio6375 that happened to me! i could suggest counting all your stitches :)
Hiiii, there might be one or both of these problems, that created the uneven shape of your beanie:
1. You accidentally increased or decreased stitch(es) as you crochetting. It usually happened at the the end or the beginning of each row (I demonstrated this at 14:05 n 15:38)
2. Your chain loops are smaller than the double crochet stitch, n you need to add more spacein the chain loops by loosen them up (this is why i use a bigger hook-7mm for the chain then double crochet with smaller hook-5.5mn, this way the hat would turn out even from top to bottom)

tip: to avoid the line going diagonally, when you finish a row, finish it up with a slip stitch, chain as many chains as you need to, and then instead of continuing in the same direction, flip the work and continue on the other direction!! Idk if I explained this well but if you flip your work after slip stitching and chaining, the join line will be vertical :)

I've known the basic crochet stitches for years but never made a project until today. Your tutorial was very easy to follow, and my daughter loved the hat I made her! (Even though it's riddled with mistakes lol!) I will be making this again very soon and hope that the next one is even better!

Hi there💞 I'm glad you still like the tutorial anyways🧶 maybe if you like to give it another chance, here's some tips:
your piece would turn out smaller or larger than the pattern bc of different materials. So the try-on chain method ar 03:55 is gonna be very useful.
For this pattern I use 2 hooks, the bigger 7.0mm for the chain and the smaller for the stitches. In case you have only 1 size of hook, remember to loosen up each chain loop, this would help your piece get an more even look💖

This video is a literal perfection! I reached 8:59 till now and every stitch is working with me so nicely and smooth just as the video ! I just have a recommendation for you , when inserting the hook in a chain , I’d really like from you to zoom in the camera so we can see in which chain you inserting the hook in cause the RUclips zoom is for real low quality, and thank you so much for your awesome tut and great work !
