    Gestalt: is a Word from the German Languege and means the outher Form or Shape of everything. The verb "gestalten" means to design something. This can be a new Food, maybe Spaghettie with a Marshmellow-Dip (LOL) or a Coffecup. Gestalten means to be Creativ. If you draw of build saomething. I Hope it was helpfull for you. Greatings from the Freezer Germany, last Night we have -1F = -18°C. Stay safe.

    great description of large shapes, but most artists can’t line draw much less moving. They need to know how to simplify the larger shapes and how they connect inside the outer line drawing.

    • @WheeTeck
      @WheeTeck  Год назад

      I think that’s the lesson, find the outline so that one think of BIG shape. Most artists I know here in Singapore are quite proficient with their drawings, beginners not so much. Even if beginners practice outlining things they see… without the inner details, they would have learned a lot about drawing! Again, thanks for dropping by and taking the time for your note, really appreciate it! Thank you 🙏

    Hello Mr. Ong, I have just discovered your blog/You Tube videos - Getting the Gestalt was the first. I am so intereseted in your teaching but am confused as to where to start. Do you have a list of the best order to approach tips and techniques for the very beginner? II am working on Alphonso Dunn's books and Keys to Drawings - it is good to change from one teacher to another during the week to add variety and hone focus. I wonder if you can suggest a 'path'. You can’t do the details of a bike and city without memorization ability. You would have to photo the scene and finish from a picture. That is too much false hope to beginners.

    • @WheeTeck
      @WheeTeck  Год назад

      I think the lesson is to focus on the larger shape, I mentioned in the video, that if your subject moved away, at least you have the big shape to fall back on… I have seen many beginners where they draw from tiny details, once their subject moved away, they have nothing to fall back on… I am not sure, I can give anyone hope! But I sure hope beginners will just start drawing… practice practice practice! All will be well, hope is not really needed! :) Thanks for feedback… much appreciated! 🙏
