I really appreciate the fact that the host let the tour guide explain what needed to be explained and did not interject himself into the tour.. excellent video thank you for sharing and keep up the good work
I loved all this. The bit I loved the most is he was apologising to workers for getting in the way. The guitar is all important, nothing breaks the flow. Great video.
@@CraigGriffiths they have signs up all over the place that guitars have the right of way. It's a small detail but an impressive dedication to the product and process.
Great factory tour. I recently visited Casino shop and meeting Baxter and Shawn was great. Casino guitars is the absolutely best guitar shop l have visited in years. Amazing selection of guitars and amps. Baxter has become one of my favorite people. He lives and breathes guitars and enjoys talking guitars. I can’t wait to visit the shop again.
Very cool video! Thanks for sharing! Interesting process, a lot of emphasis on stability, quality and creating an amazing, gorgeous guitar! Almost makes me want to go back to work!
The private stocks are works of art, NO DOUBT. That said, they’re so gawdy and over the top IMHO. When I look at them, that old show West Coast Customs comes to mind 🤣 regardless, I can only appreciate, the absolute perfection that goes into the design and execution of these builds. Plus, I’m from Baltimore, so PRS is close to home 🙌
Very cool! I was lucky enough to get a chance to go on the tour in August of this year. We got a chance to see Paul as well as David Grissom since he was there shooting something or other that day.
Thanks for the great look behind the scenes. 😎A part of me would love to work there in the finishing section - but I think it would also be a kind of torture seeing so many wonderful guitars that I couldn't have! 😉
Great video! So cool to see all this! What camera were you using? Every time the focal length was changed the sound cut out. Never seen that before. Anyways, great work!
I was using the Blackmagic App on the iphone! , super easy to change focal lengths but it does cut the sound for a second but def worth it for the easy depth of field. The first tour video 5 years ago I was shooting with a Canon Cinema Camera but with Baxter moving and never staying still it made the shots hard to keep focus. Hopefully this was much easier to watch!
@@CasinoGuitars I can definitely see how his particular span of attention could make things difficult. Thanks for the free tour video!!! I hope to own my own Lefty PRS on day!!

Fender custom shop is surprisingly small. The whole prs factory is bigger than custom shop. Google suggests 85k square feet for prs, 180k Fender Corona with custom shop being 60 people that used to have 30k sq ft in the 90's but they've shrunk the custom area since.
@@PaulCooksStuff is that because the custom shop uses some of the same equipment as the regular US factory? IE, they arent carving bodies and necks in the custom shop factory. They don't have their own metal shop, etc.

@@PaulCooksStuff How can it be about exclusivity when they build 40 of the same guitars that look exactly the same and ship them to sweetwater/guitar center? Ever see the "custom shops" line up next to each other and they even have identical relicing?
Does anyone ever accost Doug Sewell in his workshop? How about the factory that builds the Custom amplifiers? Not something that any musician would be interested in, but some of us are totally into the horsepower stuff.
For a company as complex as PRS, there are far too many aspects and operations for one person to know everything. Every machine, tool, and process is like its own little world. A good executive will have a rough understanding of everything that’s going on, but leave it to their employees to really master and perfect it.
Great video but the glinting of video and audio possibly where the editing is done is very irritating. Is the tour guide just filling in for someone ? He doesn't seem confident or knowledgeable?
