It just demonstrates that even highly trained experienced drivers make mistakes, so then it questions how fair is the driving test, because driving pretty much perfectly for 40 minutes can be difficult for someone whose only had about 60 hours driving experience. I’ve had well over 100 hours and I’m on my third go at the test, even the head instructor who I had for my first test said she was impressed with my driving but couldn’t pass me cause the car conked out cause of the hill I was on and the car I was in, she told me if the car behind wasn’t so close behind or wasn’t there at all then I would of passed. So luck is heavy when you’re doing a driving test. So it’s not really very fair. I know people in my year who have just passed and I see them on their phone or they’ve already scratched or ruined their car. Yet I can drive without instruction safely and still struggle in the test.
@J1234 but even a professional driver or instructor would say you don’t start learning till you pass, and don’t forget that first time passers and people with limited experience (i.e less than 40 hours) are the most likely to crash, plus it’s a factual statistic that 1 in 5 newly qualified drivers crash within their first year of driving.
i passed on my 4th try and when the examiner told me i passed she couldn’t believe it had taken me 4 tries, you’ll get there eventually good luck with your next test :)
Tbh I agree. The pass rate in the UK in 2010 was 63% it then plummeted to 47% a few years ago and currently sits at 51%. That would suggest that the test isn't fit for purpose and urgently needs reform. Realistically it's always been that way for example when I did it you had to reverse round a corner? What that was about I have no idea as I genuinely don't think I've ever had to do it and certainly not the way you had to do it on the test day. Don't worry about the people you know who have passed recently as unfortunately when I was your age the most irresponsible and immature people passed quickly but then most ended up losing their license even quicker or getting involved in a serious accident because they'd be on their phone, speeding or under the influence. Good luck.
Francis definitely knows how to engage with the viewers, it's obvious he knows the answers to most of the questions he's asking, but they're informative to the viewer while he's driving. I think also some of his talking is down to some amount of nerves, so not everybody can escape the nerves while being examined! Great video!
He does talk a lot but I love his vibe as an instructor and I wish I had him as my instructor. My instructor had 2 energies one minute he will be talking and laughing next minute he’s screaming at you. Happy it’s all over as I’ve passed I just appreciate Francis energy as this is the attitude needed to teach learners
Ditto! The thing is, we all know that he wouldn't be that animated/jokey on a real test but it just goes to show how good a driver he is EVEN WITH the 6 minors and 1 serious. Driving in a different car and a totally different area too. I'm still currently learning to drive and some of the routes (and especially that damn confusing roundabout that was 3rd exit right!) had me sweating even from the comfort of my own chair! 😁 P.S. Sorry to hear about your former driving instructor! Thankfully mine is a lot like Aman (she's also Indian) but she's a perfect mix of technically brilliant instructor but with all the patience and friendliness/sense of humour to boot. The first instructor I had many years back, was a guy in his late 50s or even early-mid sixties and he was trying to get me to run before I could walk. Think driving on a dual carriageway in rush hour 5th lesson in when I can barely move the car off properly down a quiet street! 😬 Needless to say, after about 8 lessons I gave up as each lesson was 2 hours long and I was having PTSD by the time I went indoors!
I honestly think sometimes your instructor can get impatient because they know what your capable of. My instructor gets annoyed because he knows I'm not as bad a drive as I make out sometimes with silly mistakes
Hey Franco, I watched that one before this video so I know how it went. Better than yours, clearly! 😁 I know you're a boss driver as is Aman so it's all good!

All i can say is this shows why the current driving test pass standard is daylight robbery and utterly ridiculous at the same time, human errors will always occur, the fails should be if you deal with it poorly and constantly make them, not the dumb nonsense we have currently.
I definitely think there should be a balance between the technical mistakes and the reaction, but at the same time, it's a machine that can easily kill you and those around you. I'd rather the standards be stupidly high than too low tbh
@@CoRLex-jh5vx the problem with the current test is that the standards are virtually impossible to meet by skill and incredibly easy to meet through luck, so you end up with a lot of bad drivers passing and a lot of good drivers who get unlucky.
@@theunholybanana4745 I absolutely agree, I know someone who had a pretty much flawless driving test, but another driver behaved stupidly right at the end and he didn't react properly/fast enough, and failed solely for that. 'Luck' should definitely be considered to a certain extent, but again, I'd rather them have higher standards than lower. Other drivers behaving stupidly/dangerously is something that happens in regular life, so the ability to react properly needs to be considered. It's just unfair as you said when people have good luck where they potentially don't have those skills but don't get to show the examiner that, and then pass somewhat undeservingly.

The first minor is very harsh, Frances use the driver on his right as a shield to take the first exit, the lorry was nowhere near him and he did not cause lorry to slow or change direction.
I am an Indian and a lot of our roads and markings.. as well as infrastructure in our capital city (Delhi, that's where I live), are similar. I want to tell you that these videos have helped me a lot. BUT ALSO, our country is SOOO populated that we cant follow half of the rules as there are constant hazards and no one else is following the rules. Especially the 2 seconds rule.
I felt like the penny dropped for Francis when you gave the cause for his mistakes at 27:51 😅😅😅 But he is entertaining to be fair! Aman you are a superb instructor! 👍
Oh. Stopping/parking on the other side of the road (like around 38:00) would be against the rules in Germany (unless it's a one-way). You're only allowed to park in the direction of travel. And for left turns you always cross in front of each other unless otherwise instructed but this is hardly a thing (more so on big interrupted intersections). So it was interesting to see how this varies so much in the UK (or just in the London area).
Interesting to hear a driving instructor actually admit on camera that he was driving without due care and attention. Less chat and more concentration on the road, and he might have passed.

Failed more times than I could bother to count, but here's a few that any learner would have been failed for without question. First he failed at the first big roundabout for cutting and slowing down someone at the 6th min, Second he failed around 11th min - for driving with 20 in a 30 road... Third failed again at 19th min for not following road signs - she marks him as ''minor'' - it's actually a serious = fail. Fourth - failed again at the 24th min for rapid lane changing - which most of the time will be considered dangerous - she's not marking him as she should be. For this one he admitted he failed that roundabout at min 24, she tells him he failed a long time ago, then she confirmed that his sudden lane changes in that 24min roundabout would be ''serious faults'' aka fails. Fifth - 26th min - following distance, he's too close to the truck - they can fail him for this too. Sixth - at 36th min - before the zebra - they totally can fail him for ''planning'' if they wanted to. Too lenient on the marking, if this was a real test he'd have had over 6 serious mistakes = a total fail.
1) that was traffic light controlled 2) it was residential and just cause its 30 doesnt mean you have to drive 30 3) it did say near side but it didnt affect anybody what he did 4) fair enough that should have been serious if it was a learner but i imagine she trusted that he was aware because hes an instructor 5) he was miles away from that truck, please 6) nobody would be failed for planning in that situation, the pedestrian turned at the last second and what he did wasnt dangerous

Really looking forward to seeing Amans mock test with you soon ☺️
It was great fun 😁😊
Just caught up with this one, as one this far north would say "jungs whit a blether" Off to find the return match now!
OMG I follow you both and loving this episode 😍 Very nice surprise.
Can we please have a feature of Pin Binning (DGN)!!!🤩
No way two driving icons together
🤩Louis 🙌
Yay! 😁
Fantastic video!
He likes talking doesn’t he
😅😅😅
😂
😂
😂😂😂😂😂🎉
26:24 - The way he counted is the CORRECT way, or 0, 1, 2. When you count saying "1, 2" you've only counted one second, don't let that catch you out!
8:46 get that left foot away from the clutch! is he riding the clutch? probably. I'd be mortified if i made these mistakes. I sat my prt 2 in a strange city and had 2 minors! possiblly shutting up and concentrating on the drive woud help. BTW I am A grade A instructor, your videos have helped, thank you!!!
Omg he can talk 😳
that shows you how real people drive
We will want you to do it with DGN the next time 😍
Got mine on Tuesday helpful videos
Good luck Benjamin!!! 🤞
Me too!
And this guys teaching people to drive!!!!!!!! 😳
Lovely instructions!🙌
The greatest cross-over of all time
Fair Marking from Aman!
Francis was having too much fun! That he didn’t see road markings at times! 😅😅
I was very lenient with the marking sheet!
@@ClearviewDriving I did think that lol! A few extra minors at least 😊
geat video. have nice day 🏆🙂🙏🏼
At 18:15, is that the old London bus? 😀
I think it's called the "route master"?
A video of them both driving a tank would be amazing.
At 19:14 wouldn't that have been a serious fault as he merged into a lane where on-coming traffic could have been turning?
ikr that mistake was so bad lol
Really very good idea n tips for driving test 👌
I would love to be up to this challenge! I've been driving for 15 odd years. Currently as a taxi driver. Holla me test me :)
This was very entertaining :)
diesel, more heavy than the petrol equivalent so the suspension be a bit tougher i gather prob explains the suspension differences
This guy is funny man!!
I couldn’t believe he is always my favourite
Failed more times than I could bother to count, but here's a few that any learner would have been failed for without question.
First he failed at the first big roundabout for cutting and slowing down someone at the 6th min,
Second he failed around 11th min - for driving with 20 in a 30 road...
1) that was traffic light controlled
2) it was residential and just cause its 30 doesnt mean you have to drive 30
3) it did say near side but it didnt affect anybody what he did
4) fair enough that should have been serious if it was a learner but i imagine she trusted that he was aware because hes an instructor
5) he was miles away from that truck, please
6) nobody would be failed for planning in that situation, the pedestrian turned at the last second and what he did wasnt dangerous
31:41 Correct should have been i right lane no blind spot to miss!
I use to hate SAT NAV but now I love them and hate following signs
Haha sat nav driving can be a little distracting at first, but it’s actually a lot easier. :)
watch accompanied by all time best vince carter highlights
Tahrikler videolarınız çok güzel özellikle kamera kayıt sisteminiz çok iyi, bende direksiyon eğitmeniyim aynı kamera kayıt sisteminiz den bende sahip olmak isterdim teşekkür ederim kolay gelsin
Man drank 5 cups of coffee before this test.
full of energy!
need to collab like this with Ashley neal :D
Driving with your foot on the clutch is pretty weird for a driving instructor
