It's crazy how when i first watched this dude i was in 8th grade he didn't have a beard, now im at my first year in ME and he has a beard.....they grow up so fast
Wow, this video really hit close to home. Losing a job unexpectedly can be such a devastating experience, especially when it feels like you've given your all to the company. To anyone going through a similar situation, hang in there. It's tough, but with time and perseverance, we'll find our way through. Let's focus on taking care of ourselves, updating our resumes, and staying resilient in our job search. We've got this! Im gonna upload a video soon sharing a similar situation I had been through a while ago.
Tamer we all know that you're awesome, you made my engeneering days very beautifull, you made me love mechanical engieneering so you deserve to be very far from this kind of situation
I can't lie, all the "I can't discuss this and that" and that annoying HR voice/tone is so so real I literally had the exact same experience getting laid off from my job (non-tech) during the height of the covid pandemic
Exact same thing happened to me a year ago. Was working in a Data job I didnt enjoy and got a sudden invite on friday for the following Monday with my manager and some woman I didnt know. Turned out to be news they were downsizing and letting me go. Ended up being a blessing. Got hired by a global engineering company who are paying for me to get my engineering degree as a mature student. Long story short - these sort of bad turns often turn out to be a blessing!
Personaly I haven't gone through this and I hope not to but if it actually happened to you, just hang in there because you been of so much help to a lot of people including me 🙏 so be sure that God will not forget you
They also mismanage funds by paying themselves and frivolously spending it left right and centre, buying stocks, and then having the employees take the hit for their practices
As an engineering contractor for the past two Years you don’t get an exit interview. they just tell you your contract ended 😂 i got laid off twice last year cause of financial reasons
Honestly the way how I see it like a relationship. If the partner decides to leave you even tho you did everything you could and better, turn away from that and look for something much better who knows you might find a company that will give you better benefits 😎
In 2024, the truth is that mass layoffs are a function of economic factors & aggressive business strategy as opposed to an employee's performance. I personally don't agree with the idea of treating employees as expendable resources, but it is sad that tech companies do.
Damn, that's hella cold that a manager would tell you that you did a great job on the last project, and then they lay you off. They're probably just doing their job, but it's still cold af.
Im 22 working as a tech for Mercedes making 38 an hour. Some light. While also studying mechanical engineering. I been studying it since 18 since I been doing school part time it’s taken me time. But in glad that I have my current job to fall back on bc I can see the job market is extremely tough and lay offs are on a rise.
Honestly I was working in fintech and its not worth it if you loose your job. Just find a different role aslong as the money is halal. We have to put full trust in allah as this life is anyway a temporary abode, our destiny is already written of where we work and how much we earn, so not worth it overthinking it and getting depressed about it.
Hi Tamer Shaheen. I am one of your fans and I like your content because it's really helpful. I have a question that your answer will really guide me. As AI and ML advance day by day we see a danger of jobs being replaced by it. My biggest dream is to be a Mechatronics engineer but I am scared of AI replacing my childhood dream so what is your opinion of AI in engineering? Will AI replace Mechatronics Engineering? I think it's a good idea for a video, it will help lots of people. Thanks.
Hey mech engineer here, the short answer is probably not, AI can do a lot of things, but its effects are probably similar to what the internet has done for people where it reduces remedial task, but it can’t do high level trouble shooting or integration.
Pay me that severance and maybe after, I'll send your laptop back... or maybe I'll just throw it in the garbage. Bill me, I'm sure I'll be able to pay it since I don't have a job. GFY.
that HR snake voice, can't ever trust what HR says 💀💀
yes dude, i have a ridiculous experience with HRs
🤣
Always see it as opportunity to move on, whenever a door closes a new one opens.
That HR voice was very accurate 😂
It's crazy how when i first watched this dude i was in 8th grade he didn't have a beard, now im at my first year in ME and he has a beard.....they grow up so fast

You the one whose grown fast
@@ephraimsondoyi9966 so the joke went over your head huh
Haha thank you for the dedication! I hope your first year in ME is going well

“Unfortunately I can’t answer that”💀

I appreciate the kind words so much 🙏
Me too

Every time something “negative” like this happened to me, it ended up being a blessing in disguise. You’ll find a better opportunity.
Hopefully, thank u for the kind words 🙏

Actually this kind of video is really good ! Your videos skills are improving !!
It's so crazy how eerily similar this was to my layoff meeting a week ago LMAO. Even the internal monologue was on point LOL.
I’m glad u found it relatable, but sorry to hear that you also got laid off 😕
Survived a layoff recently really feel you on this one.. GL on the next journey! PS might as well replace them HRs w robots
HAHA
you proved stunning video editing and story telling skills in this video.
Haha thank you so much! 🙏
Keep going brother u got this 💪 Ramadan Kareem ☪️
Ramadan Kareem to you too bro 🙏
Can't wait for the video of him being hired by a better company. Keep your head up Tamer
Haha ya once it happens, I’ll be excited to make it
Love it when HR and Companies go "Understand but unfortunately" Nah, they don't feel shit.
Right? When was the last time someone in HR or executive get laid off?
Getting hit by those round of “unfortunately”
Personaly I haven't gone through this and I hope not to but if it actually happened to you, just hang in there because you been of so much help to a lot of people including me 🙏 so be sure that God will not forget you
Thanks for your encouraging videos and words 👍👍👍
Best of luck man

how do you know ?
you want me to teach you economics?
@@mahaanpadri Honestly always down for learning! Would love to hear please
Im only a minute into this video and its already so relatable haha. I just got laid off from a start up too
Damn if this is how it really went down, i genuinely feel bad for bro. Keep your head up kid.
Seeing this in my feed while struggling to find an internship gives me an idea of how the economy is looking like right now...
Ya it’s a rough economy and we’re all trying our best 😅
Bro gets played harder by startups than I get played by women 🥲
😂😂
bro
Real
That's rude😂

That’s probably what happened tbh haha

Oh ya, contract work is different because I believe when you’re hired on, there’s an end date in mind.
@@TamerShaheen it is but nowadays companies make you a contractor before hiring you full time as well
Hey man, try aerospace or something government related, those people never get laid off
Honestly the way how I see it like a relationship. If the partner decides to leave you even tho you did everything you could and better, turn away from that and look for something much better who knows you might find a company that will give you better benefits 😎
Yes true that’s a good point. You can’t force someone to stay, whether it’s a company or a significant other.
The worst part is the HR part😅
Yeah, they act like they helping!

Ya ur right about that
HAha the HR the way you look, thats how they always smile and look at you, like they understand your frustrations.
HAHA ya HR is a different breed
I am sure this is exactly how it is like getting laid off. Companies looking out for themselves and their paychecks.
Damn, that's hella cold that a manager would tell you that you did a great job on the last project, and then they lay you off. They're probably just doing their job, but it's still cold af.
this felt very real

Also u are prolly learning so much about cars by being a tech at Mercedes. That’s really impressive!
Man you really made me worry for my job
Hopefully you’ll be safe 🙏
you will find something way better in sha Allah
What are your thoughts on Value Validation Projects when finding a mechanical engineering job?
Now we have an AI Software Engineer. We are doomed 💀
LOOL well can AI replace mechanical engineers tho? 🤔
Two weeks bro got railroaded 😭
Hurts like a dagger
Those unfortunately are annoying 😢
Unfortunate is a company's favorite word lol
Haha ya it is 😂
That sucks. I am on the same boat right now :/
We’re in this together 😭

In a layoff call or email, they’re used a ton haha

Unfortunetley unfortunate
