It’s literally part of being employee on this type of jobs, if they see an opportunity they’ll take it. They literally just need 2 clientes per week to make more than what you can pay them. So, it’s cheaper they’ll hire them, you lost client.
@@supremegaming8794 yep, actually one of the husbands of the cleaning ladies bought it (he is from Salvador) and he literally brought every family or friend and hired them NOT as independent since that’s the main issue why many cleaning people have, some jobs are harder because high ceilings of what not. So they did got insurance, dental, etc. And yep, now it’s a “family business” I sold it for 35k it was okey for me since i started it with literally no cash.

Uber drivers also do not meet the technical definition of independent contractors and are much closer to employees under the legal definition. Also, not an exact comparison to these circumstances.
It’s against the law in my state, the attorney general is cracking down on “large” cleaning companies for this same reason and yeah Uber is going through litigation as well.

There are many that prefer 1099 employment over w-2. One thing that he's not mentioning is that 1099 is going to charge you more than what a W-2 employee would. Both are going to cost you about the same but W-2 employees are a bit more paperwork and headache.
@JB12JB no because for w2 employees the employer pays a percentage of the employees payroll taxes and unemployment benefits but an employer is not required to do that for 1099 employees. 1099 employees have to pay 100% of their own taxes

This is extremely bad advice. This is the way to solve the contractor-stealing-clients problem: just put non-compete and confidentiality agreements into the contracts, build a solid client relationship so they won't even consider them vs you, have a solid brand that they can buy into, offer competitive pricing. and hire independent contractors with whom you have built a good relationship with, prior to them starting.
This is predatory as hell and sad. It’d be different if u even provided the supplies. But sheesh they have to supply everything and u only get the customers(which isn’t that hard to do) smh
