Please only attempt this if you are an advanced user capable of troubleshooting. My previous guide on GPU scaling with Nvidia Control Panel is much simpler: ruclips.net/video/jYhCesoK0BQ/видео.html You will likely need a displayport cable rather than an HDMI. Most black screen issues can be resolved with the resetall.exe file or by plugging your monitor into another port on the GPU with an HDMI cable (will be considered as a separate display)
this video saved my life and cs2 gameplay. thank you so much as i couldnt get nvidia control panel to accept gpu scaling. no matter what i did the scaling mode would revert to display anytime i confirmed the changes. thanks again
Display scaling is not supported on most G-Sync module monitors (G-Sync compatible monitors may be supported) and may not be supported on 360 Hz monitors. Refer to my previous guide on GPU scaling with Nvidia for those cases: ruclips.net/video/jYhCesoK0BQ/видео.html
FYI for AMD users. It's way better to use CRU than the Adrenalin software. I use to make my custom resolutions on the Adrenalin software, but for some reason it always looked super bad. The stretched res' always looked too pixelated and blurry on Apex. That's what always put me off from using stretched res. I assume that Adrenalin forces the gpu to scale instead of the display, even when you checked the option for it not to do that. Anyways my game looks way clearer now after using CRU, even when I use very low resolutions like (ie 1280x1080). Currently my main res is 1440x1080 and it looks great. Anyways killer tutorial

Then i went down to more settings and changed to 143 hz and it changed to both no problem. But when i go in apex legends i stilk have the black bars up top and under... Please help
You I found that you can actually make the fov just ludicrously High by setting your desktop and monitor resolution to an insanely wide aspect ratio like 43:10 with 2560 by 590. It's straight up looks like you have a 180° fov it's detrimental

What res is good for a 2560x1440p monitor? Just watched another video who recommended 2304x1440p. I think it still looks good since it is close to native, but not sure if it is actually stretched enough to make a difference.
As soon as i clicked restart my screens went grey and wouldn’t turn on, i reset 7 times moving around the screens to different ports and finally got to one of my screens, wtf is this.
is there a reason in your last guide you recamended fullscreen in nividia, then in this one you recamend aspect ratio, and in both you give the same reason as to why to use it? 😎🤨
hey lobo, this is a random question but do you know what the 1080p equivalent of 2134 x 1440 would be? if i’m doing the math right, I think it would be 1600 x 1080 (actually 1600.5 x 1080)? I just found the ratio of 2134/1440 then multiplied that by 1080. thanks lobo
Also. I set up everything for 1728x1080 and it works great all is good and matching. But when I launch apex, first the game glitches out, the it stretches. But then my monitor is telling me it’s running 1920x1080 144hz when In game it’s saying 1728x1080. Why is that? My monitor fully supports 240hz and that’s what I set it at in cru. Why does the monitor say that?
Oof, black screened for me. Not sure why. Tried a few different things but no luck. I reverted through safe mode. Guess I’ll do it through nvidia control panel, I’m curious why “display” doesn’t actually use display scaling and what the added latency is. How much does using CRU improve image quality? Wondering how much its worth figuring out what’s wrong
it comes down to hardware essentially. if you have an official gsync monitor (not just compatible) then instead of a display scaler you have a gsync module you probably should use for smoothest experience and in those cases you're not adding any appreciable latency to also do the scaling pass driver side. If your monitor has its own display scaler that will always be slightly lower latency and better quality because its even lower level than the display driver and quite likely your monitor would already be doing some kind of scaling if this is the case. As for why choosing display in nvidia control panel doesnt actually work that's because uhhh nope I got nothing. Maybe its a compatibility thing and some hardware display scalers do work, maybe it does work for scaling at the same aspect ratio but not for stretched res, its been a while since I made this so I can't recall if I found an answer on that, but I know the behavior hasnt really changed with driver updates on my end
Fix: Nvidia settings => change resolution => 1444x1080 => adjust desktop size and position => fullscreen => perform scaling on: GPU And that's it, you should get stretched

Hey , I've done everything correctly, everything matches to your settings , I am however noticing in apex legends I get this like wave like screen tearing. I mean borderless windowed. If you need to stay in full screen you might be able to remove the black screen and freezing after all tabbing with Nvidia profile inspector tool and disable mock switch if you are using a laptop with a GPU and on board graphics from the CPU and then you also configure the performance mode to be multi-windowed you turn off any full screen oriented g-sync options and you make them all Global or full screen and windowed modes.
