I was never into this story because it was endless hopelessness and "It gets worse" and no progress is made...not to mention misanthropic... ...but then the comic wrapped up and there is finally closure and a hopeful future. Humanity will rebuild and start over. Things were accomplished. --- Call me old-fashioned but super-grim endings bum me out and tropes exist for a reason. Subverting stuff and killing off main characters for no good reason is just dumb and lazy writing. Most main characters should have "plot armor", that way, if a major character croaks, it really means something BIG is going down. --- I hear about this show and basically the entire main cast is dead by the end. It's stupid. I GET the whole double-meaning of the title but it's still stupid. --- Now; They kill off the guys who were the "main heroes" of the story...and the idiots writing the show have the NERVE to WONDER why ratings are bad. --- The writers knew why, but they decided to double-down and kill the Grimes guys. Why would they have to build new railroad tracks from scratch? Why not just repair the existing railroad lines that went cross country (and all over) It's only been 20-25 years, not hundreds of years. All those tracks are still there and just need a bit of maintenance to be usable again.
I wonder if that universe, 100 years from now in that comic, will there be a full fledged modern world where they have resumed technological and medical pursuits, where there are new governments, media has returned, and the zombies are viewed as just pests instead of a threat like "Old man Johnson must have died last night watching his game show and he's now thrashing about in his house, call the Walker Busters!". Or like an activist group that fights for walker rights? Undertakers will become a bad ass job because you have to put them down and burry them, maybe like a spin off with Undertakers where it's more of a crime drama. Maybe walkers will be interred in that society akin to how dogs came to be and will keep guard walkers? The possibilities are endless.
That ending will have cars in one form or another within 50 years after 100 years given the vast array of technological documents and old world knowledge in books and museums they will be back in space with if they co operate in a massive research and development operation.after 150 years first mars colony is established after recently discovering a way to neutralize the zombie virus for good .

I can’t believe they never went to look for some kind of cure .. I was hoping the ending of the show and comics would be them searching or getting in contact with people who knew what’s happening all over the globe and maybe get in contact with more scientists working on a cure
I think it's just the story of this group of people. There are millions of other people and engineers, scientist probably working on it. The idea is that life is slowly returning back and eventually in time develop a cure. Because there is some kind of normalized way of living makes sense later down the road and capability they will develop the cure.
Finding a cure is literally the most generic apocalypse series ending ever...When will u guys figure out TWD is about a group of survivors doing anything to survive, and they aren't a bunch of heroes trying to save the world?

Am I the only one that finds this ending slightly depressing. Like the idea that the world ended, went through 20years or so of societal collapse. A time that was undeniably horrific and terrifying. But it was also admittedly beautiful in a way that i think made so many fans almost fantasise about living through the end of the world. And I think that’s because the way out society has modernised and developed humans as a species lost the the companionship we are almost wired to grave from a community. The way I see it humans are and always have been pack animals, and for most of our history that fact was reflected through tribes, clans, and small communities in the very beginning to small towns, farming communities, etc. All of those examples meant that for people family wasn’t limited to your lover and kids. The saying that it takes a village to raise a kid really does resonate. And it takes a village for a lot of other things to. I think the current epidemic of loneliness that has become even more concerning since the dawn of the 21st century is due to the fact that the average person doesn’t have a village around them. They don’t have community. People who help each other and live together as a unit. I think people crave community that they consistently live their lives, work, and eventually die with. Sure people have friends but it’s not the same because friends for the most part still live separate detached lives. There goals are different there lives are different, there success isn’t your success. But when we used to all live in small communities it meant that everyone worked together towards a common goal, people relied on each other to live. You would band together to face common problems whether that be drought Killing crops, rebuilding your home after a disaster, etc. But most people don’t have that anymore. So when you watch TWD and see this group of strangers surviving together as a family every day who are willing to die for each other we want that for ourselves. That is really how humans were designed to live. But then twd ends and suddenly they are all back in a massive society where the surviving members of the group that were once everything to each other are now scattered to the winds caught up in there own lives with there own jobs and there own goals. They are disconnected. Carl grew up surrounded by found family but in the end things get “better” and the only real family he has anymore is his wife and kids. That is depressing to me. All the time i watched TWD I never wanted society to rebuild and go back to the way it was. I wanted it to have small community’s like Alexandria and hilltop who help each other but are ultimately their own families. The ending of the comics makes me think of the tv show episode where they arrive as a group to Alexandria and all sleep together in the living room because they don’t want to be apart from each other. Because they are family. And then i compare it to the commonwealth where the people who would have once died for each other now hardly see each other and squabble about trivial shit basically trying to sue each other. So even though I know I was supposed to be happy about how things went back to normal I just can’t bring myself to be.
Why wouldn't they just be able to use the existing railroads and infrastructure that are still around? Perhaps the rails need some maintenance but would probably be a lot more practical then trying build new tracks.
Probably new rail lines to new locations. I doubt there was originally a rail line going into The Commonwealth, but that's probably what Eugene is doing. Just an idea..
@@ryanfoster3143 ye like they aim to reach issue 300. Show will end with the release of the third film... The show is unbearably bad after Season 1. I can't believe they are on S10 and they're even making movies, who tf is watching that shit??
@@Malevolence460 Also; The comic has an ending...and it's actually hopeful! I was never into this story because it was endless hopelessness and "It gets worse" and no progress is made...not to mention misanthropic...
...but then the comic wrapped up and there is finally closure and a hopeful future. Humanity will rebuild and start over. Things were accomplished.

Call me old-fashioned but super-grim endings bum me out and tropes exist for a reason. Subverting stuff and killing off main characters for no good reason is just dumb and lazy writing. Most main characters should have "plot armor", that way, if a major character croaks, it really means something BIG is going down.
---
I hear about this show and basically the entire main cast is dead by the end. It's stupid. I GET the whole double-meaning of the title but it's still stupid.
---
Now; They kill off the guys who were the "main heroes" of the story...and the idiots writing the show have the NERVE to WONDER why ratings are bad.
---
The writers knew why, but they decided to double-down and kill the Grimes guys. I think they're trying to kill the show on purpose.
Why is this so good compared to the show? why did they have to fire chandler Riggs?
They didnt fire him. It was Chandlerr decision to focus on his study if i am not mistaken
Lalu Wahyu you are sorely mistaken. chan even bought a house in georgia, and transferred colleges from cali to Atlanta. scott gimple is just a piece of shit
@@zacharybrown1486 Scott gimple sucks
You're mistaken. Chandler moved closer to the set and he chosed acting over going to college maybe he thought he would be on TWD until the end but Scott Gimple happened.
@@laluwahyupiw WRONG! Scott Gimple and AMC are just pieces of shit. Chandler thought he'd be on the show until the end.
Thanks for the video. I quit watching the tv version when they killed Carl. I still read the comics but haven't the last issue yet.
Thank you for watching!
Why would they have to build new railroad tracks from scratch? Why not just repair the existing railroad lines that went cross country (and all over) It's only been 20-25 years, not hundreds of years. All those tracks are still there and just need a bit of maintenance to be usable again.
not enough info to know the answer.
lestrange convenience? i’m sure not all settlements are hooked up to old-world roads and railroads
Man I got really emotional reading Carl’s story... I loved it as well!
Thanks for watching!
Can you explain why people don't die and turn anymore?
They do
Where did u get that
They do...it's just controlled better in the safe zone I guess....Carl said at one point that the non-safe areas were still almost as bad as before.
@@TWDExplained i heard most of the walkers just decayed
All humans would probs be dead or everyone would go back to the dark ages
That ending will have cars in one form or another within 50 years after 100 years given the vast array of technological documents and old world knowledge in books and museums they will be back in space with if they co operate in a massive research and development operation.after 150 years first mars colony is established after recently discovering a way to neutralize the zombie virus for good .
i feel like this was a easter egg form robot chicken.
It is, they called the ending really well.
@@brianachim2670 when robot perdicted the ending.

I think this ending was perfect
If dude would've said it was horrible, you'd say it was horrible to lol
@@TheMaybach1984 Nah I got my own opinions.
It’s been a wild ride. From the bed, to the hand, to the leg, to those suppressed gunshots. It will never end.
I swear if Judith didn't get this ending im going nuts, since it is suppose to be Carl's so it only make sense that it's gonna be for Judith. This ending is way to perfect to get scrapped.
But hopefully they're not going to kill Rick this time, or Atleast giving him a lame ahh death like in the comic. he need to atleast go out with a *Bang.*
I hope so... We are all gonna be jonesing if TWD goes dark COMPLEATLY... Thank you for this post... I loved the comparison between the comic and the show... Would love more of you reading the comic and giving the commentary with this.... Thank you...
Idk about this ending, settling down in a settlement and living happily ever after.... it just felt like they have been through so many settlements that they could have done that any season.
Dang I've really been outta the loop on the comics I had no idea they ended until i saw this video in my recommended...
East needs to be connected to the West.....? Sounds like a job for Sam Bridges...!
such an underrated comment
last few issues had serious Red Dead vibes
This had an Attack on Titan vibe to it
And like The Walking Dead, it's also ending soon.
Asexual Andy fr😔
I dont think our main character would be hailed as hero like Rick Grimes did 😢
Carl should've made it to the end...... would've been a perfect ending for the series......Rick being there is also crucial
Did anyone notice Princess and Mercer
Yep
I can’t believe they never went to look for some kind of cure .. I was hoping the ending of the show and comics would be them searching or getting in contact with people who knew what’s happening all over the globe and maybe get in contact with more scientists working on a cure
I think it's just the story of this group of people. There are millions of other people and engineers, scientist probably working on it. The idea is that life is slowly returning back and eventually in time develop a cure. Because there is some kind of normalized way of living makes sense later down the road and capability they will develop the cure.
Same i want that ending
Finding a cure is literally the most generic apocalypse series ending ever...When will u guys figure out TWD is about a group of survivors doing anything to survive, and they aren't a bunch of heroes trying to save the world?
Well now your out of a job dude
haha at least the show is still going!
Or mabey he could do phinius and Ferb ;p
It’s nice to know the struggle was worth it in universe
They just released the news yesterday that season 11 will be 24 episodes long, the final season, and that the next spinoff show after the walking dead ends, will be a Daryl and Carol spin-off offZ for shoes watching this that may not have heard already lol
Well, it was maybe a beautiful ending but if you think about theres still the possibility of the "Trials" happening again
If a generation or two passes it can for sure when people forget or no one is still around from that first time around....(maybe?)
I'm sure they will write books about the walkers and the danger. I think all of the survivors will be tought how to deal with a zombie
i remember me hearing someone predict practiaclly this exact ending
What an great ending to a great series. It really made me cry I'm going to miss this comic.
Ha ha we finally get to find out Michone's name 😀
Leave it to humanity to turn zombies into an attraction in the future and go to court because zombies can be private property.

Walkers.

Would you lose your mind if I told you that what zombie are? Like voodoo from Africa this is what zombies are and "slaves" to the living... Yes, slavery from Africa. This is actually the original orgin of zombies..
It be nice if they make anime series of The Walking Dead light from the book
Yeah a cartoon that follows the comics exactly would be great

Yeah but not anime, ew.

Oh boy! Can't wait for them to Milk everything they can out of The Walking Dead!
sandvich king why do you think he ended the comic?
burned out ROBERT KIRKMAN has writer's block. the last couple issues should have been a story character arc about an adult CARL GRIMES set in the future...and the comic book series ending with a finale bicentennial issue, maybe even bringing back the original artist TONY MOORE to wrapped thing up.
I'm still pissed about the T.V. show killing off Carl. He should be the one to end the show. I stopped watching for a while and haven't even seen most of seasons 8 through 10 but then I seen the "Here's Negan" episode and I have decided to finish out the show, watching the 11th season. I want to see how they end it. Here's hoping A. Kang doesn't screw it up...
They will change it up a bit from the comic - I hope it goes well also! Thanks for watching Russ!
Chandler Riggs had to go to college at the time
you were right about the negan lives spinoff
Good stories must end.
my favorite part of that episode was the letter in the back by robert kirkman where he details the alternate ending (which I thought was better).

@@TWDExplained I'm very sad.
Y’all wonder what happen to Clementine and AJ and the others at the school, and also that one chick ( Claudia )that was with Ricks brother.
Kirkman said he may tell us what happened to Clem. Not sure we will ever know about the girl with Rick's brother.
@@TWDExplained cool never knew that and I think it was a miss opportunity that Claudia never found Rick.
@@DWAG-REDGRAVE It would have been cool. But she didn't get the name from his brother before he died. She did not know who to look for.
I really believe they wouldn’t allow a walking dead inside the borders I mean the amount of problems it’ll do is insane
Given 50 years this endings civilization will have planes back in the air .
i think daryl is kinda like carls replacement tbh
I want to know how they made society work, given that no matter how you die you turn
The end with Carl Sophia was good but the whole plot was stupid.
Killing a walker you get sued?
Its like Kirkman was tired and wanted to put an end.
This is the ending we deserved in the show
andrea definitely didnt bury rick she was dead for about 10 issues at that point and it was the hardest struggle rick had to face in the comic

I know that everyone is infected n all turn to walkers after they die, but I would think at some point damn near all the other walkers are gone. You think after maybe like 50 years of killing them plus just the natural process of decay, that most would be gone. Maybe that's what we need instead of this corona virus
