As I am with a lot of the changes, I'm mixed on the idea of the Oompa-Loompas being robots. But I kinda like this new instrumental of this song. Starting as an eerie lullaby style for the Oompas' introduction, then a more faster tempo for the upbeat _StruwwelPeter_ like doom set for Augustus.
Great dancing sequence of oompa loompas and maybe a little like more other versions of augustus gloop musical & movie tim burton version and after the song just like explaining broadway version about its all augustus augustus auguustuuss

@@shirleymaemattthews4862exactly but they did that for a reason because there’s like a weird and offensive history behind the unborn bus because in the original copy of the 1964 book the oompa Loompa‘s were black pygmies from Africa but after 1972 they are now just white people and in the west end it can either be the costume that is hidden behind the set like The Augustus Gloop song or actors being on stilts like juicy and vidiots but in the Broadway version it’s just the body is like a puppet while the actors wear black/purple suits so they can reveal their head and so they can be on their knees and the UK tour doesn’t want to get involved with the weird history so they made them robots and it kind of makes sense because Willy Wonka is an inventor
I honestly thought Augustus would have a darker demise. From the way people described it, I figured the Oompa Loompas would spin him around and squish him in the pipe.
Bro killing him was so unnecessary like at least in the original they couldn’t help him and in a differnt version of the musical he was actually in the pipe and they couldn’t stop him (well they could have tried harder than to just sing about how they are gonna turn him into fudge) but in this one they litterly have him in a tube right there they could have just let him go but for some messed up resson they took him into the boiler room and kill him and turn him into frudge
This version is sad why would they show augustus’s corpse and have mrs gloop cry i know its supposed to be dark but this version is honestly my least favorite and west end will always be the best in my opinion
considering that every subsequent version has gotten darker since it left the UK, i imagine the UK saying "hey, wait a minute, the dark humor is are job" not wanting to be out done.
