    Just bought a 2015 yfz 450 took it out for the first time, rode for about 4 hours, and it locked up on me. Found this video very helpful! Keep up the good work!

    Hey don't know if you've ever tried this but if you're looking for a cheap and easy tool to use for getting the rings to collapse while sliding the cylinder on try using Popsicle sticks. They're great for pushing on the rings without damaging them. They're strong enough and just the right length and thickness for doing this. I used to use them when rebuilding Jet Ski motors back in the 80's when I had my own Jet Ski shop. Hope you find this useful.

    I also saw a technique on the RestoRooster OHV RUclips channel for putting the top end together. He puts the piston in the cylinder first then attaches the piston and cylinder to the connecting rod. I thought it was a unique way of doing it.

      Yes. I have done that before. There has been a few quads that I just couldn't get the cylinder over the rings while on the quad. So I did it like you mentioned and it surely works. Makes it easier to get the rings into a stubborn cylinder when on the bench first lol

    You mentioned about the free yamaha manuals. Things like that, and their standard of quality are what make them the best manufacturer.
    I just wish they would get a little more competitive in the 2 stroke field, to compete with the euro manufacturer

      For sure the free manual download is a huge plus. I feel the YZ125 is competitive to the KTM once the YZ125 is uncorked some. They come stock a little corked up with a thick air filter, long silencer, and a head that is too pump fuel friendly. But the rest of the motor is ready to go for the most part and the suspension is top notch. As for the YZ250, I feel the frame is its main weakness. Just too much flex in the wrong areas. This doesnt seem to hamper the 125, only the 250. I wish they would update the YZ250's frame, as well as touch up the motor some to some more modern stuff like better transmission ratios. Otherwise its a solid bike.

    A guy at the track told me only pros should ride 450's and 250 2T dirtbikes
    What you think about that?

      I think 450s are best for pros and vet riders.

      @UpAllNight91 Good point. I'm 6'2 260 pounds muscular build from playing football. 450 is for me 😀
      It's some 16 year olds at the track that ride 450 c and b class and they ride them like they 125 2T.

      @@bunnyman6321 Yeah, I see teens on 450s too. They would learn faster on a smaller bike though. At your weight a 450 is fine though.

      What's your insight on this; my younger cousin on a supermini and ready to graduate to a bigger bike.
      Should he get a 125 2T or 250 F ?

      @bunnyman6321 thanks brother, you too!. If he's light enough for a 125 I totally suggest some time on a 125 before moving up to a 250f. There are things that are learned on 125s that bigger bikes just can't teach as easy. For sure 125 first
