If all your pokemon faint, you can choose new ones and go back in to continue the battle. For instance hand selecting a top dps team of lower CP mon, say 6 hitmons vs snorlax, and when they all feint, go back in with the team it selects for you (in the interest of time), and it puts you right back into that same battle to continue.
PSA, don't show up to a TTar raid when there is only 2 minutes left.

Greeeaatt, another reason it sucks to be a rural player. Because for us, a lot of us don't have these legacy moves. Forget Machamp, I don't even have a Machoke! There needs to be an event at some point where TMs grant legacy moves OR you can find Pokemon with legacy moves.

2 of the 3 birds are double-weak to rock, the other is weak. Ho-Oh is also double-weak , Lugia and Entei are weak. Thats 6 of the 11 legendaries covered by one team. Mew, mew2 and celebi just bring tyranitars and fill out with houndooms and/or umbreons (you can also use this team for Lugia if he is rolling hydropump). Raikou bring rhydons, suicone bring eggys.
Nick, you're a great teacher. You should consider doing short videos for each of the important mons. You're explanation of movesets and detail is fantasti. It would be a great way for people to have a video encyclopedia of Pokemon. Finally, it's content for days that people will return to again and again. Lastly, my selfish reason: repetition is great for my learning. I didn't know Pokemon before PGO and I have trouble really learning water beats fire, electric beats water, etc. Having those things repeated in these videos for important mon would help me learn instead of having to google before every raid/big battle. thanks!

Why would you use/waste a TM on Magneton when it has another evolution in Gen4 and the moves will change?
My Pokémon Go journey started again last month from lvl 1(can't really play during winter and I forgot my account name&password). I was super excited when I finally got 4 pokémon to stay on gyms for 5 days! But when they returned (today), I GOT NO MONEY from them. So, I went to read more about the issue and it said that currently they don't have a clue why that happens... I'm so mad :l P.S. I find these videos really entertaining!
Trainer tip: you can heal two pokemon at once by tapping on them simultaneously.

Hey man what's up!? Everything ok? 4 days without uploading?
I usually bring a blissey or snorlax into a raid as a tank incase anyone gets knocked out this allows people time to hop back in as I spam dodges. it helps when you don't have enough people for a raid so you can have people cycle through and come back to finish off the battle.
But the timer still ticks down even if you "buy time" with tank pokemon and dodges..? I don't understand how that helps. Assuming that people run out of pokemon in the later part of the raid -> less time on the clock already.
This doesn't help at all. Better to not even start the raid if no one is at the lobby. If I don't see enough people on a level 4 raid, I would hop out when timer counts down to 20 seconds. Then wait for enough players in the next turn. Using the best counters with the best DPS is always the way to go.
Euthanasiated some people don't dodge and lose their Pokemon quickly so it's just there for them to hop back in again. sometimes people will run out if they have 2 left and we pause the damage while we have time ticking.
Tydrix I raid with a big group but some people bring their kids. sometimes when i have like 7 or 8 players for a tyranitar I will bring the snorlax or blissey to just hold off a little damage but the rest of my slots are all strong counters so we usually have no problems. I'm just saying as a precautionary
there's no need for that, if all your 6 pokemon faint, you can go back to the same fight with 6 new others, with the same people you were before and all the damage it has already taken. Sad to see that Nick has for so damn long failed to tell the people about it.

also really good to note for dragon claw, if you stack them, you can hit all three and it only throws one animation, very good for dodging.
Im confused... Is it possible to go from: Dragon Tail,Hurricane=>Dragon Breath,Hurricane.

So does that mean I would need to have the LEGACY move in the beginning? Meaning, I cant change a non legacy move (ex.Dragon Tail) to a legacy move such as dragon breath???
PixelatedMoon Any legacy moves need to be already learned, as you are not able to "reroll" with TMs to legacy moves.
Ok thanks for the help! I understand legacy moves i just wasn't clear on wether you could now re-roll certain legacy moves or there where just better combinations.
Nick, use a ditto against a raid boss
I rolled up on a tyranitar raid with 10 minutes left, there were 5 guys there struggling at the raid that I honestly didn't expect to see. then we failed the raid two more times. 3 minutes left on the raid and two more guys roll up and we finally beat it. only half of us actually caught the Tyranitar, but mine ended up having iron tail and crunch and decently good IVs, especially for my first tyranitar.
Since then (This happened at a gym near my house) the 4 gyms in the area (+1, as of two days another a pokestop became a gym) there has been NOTHING but Bayleef raids every time I've looked at the game
if you are in a raid and go through all 6 of your Pokemon, you can load 6 more and go back in. it doesn't cost another raid pass. I recommend just taking what ever the game picks for the return.
Typhlosion should not know solarbeam wtf
why? it's super effective against water types, which typhlosion is weak to.
a lot of fire types in the main series games can learn solar beam so it's fine

David Dost I know the fire event was my only time to get cyndaquil candies and I finally found a good one, I evolved it and got solar beam. can't do raids, my phone goes too slow. no tms for me. :(
David Dost In the main series Pokémon games, they switched from having Pokémon learn moves relevant to their type, and made it so that sometimes Pokémon can have a move super effective to the type they aren't effective to. For example, Typhlosion's common fire moves are weak to water and rock type moves. With solar beam, it'll make it a bit more interesting, and easier to defeat rock and water types. So really, don't complain, it's making the game a little more fun, in my opinion, at least... :/

You can revive or heal multiple pokemon at the same time. You just need to use more fingers to touch them at the same time. It will lag a bit, but it's faster than doing them individually.

Glad you wrote that baout Blinssey or Chancey. Two days ago i was on a Charizard raid, it was only me and 2 other trainers.
My team was ghost and psychic types... these guys were using Blinnseys ( i spotted at least 2), and another trainer used sudowoodo, aerodactyl and crobat.... it was a complete mess... i lost most of my powerful pkmn....
chris wilhelm why do you keep spelling blissey like that? And you probably lost your Pokémon because you used bad types. Ghost and psychic types aren't good for charizard. But rock types like sudowoodu and aerodactyl at least have 2x super effective damage on charizard. Next time try sticking with water,electric, and rock types and let your teammates know what they should use lol.

hey Nick... a couple of days ago I had my aerodactyl in a gym for 20 hours and like 20 mins (something around that) i should have gotten 122 coins and i didn't get any of them ! idk what to do
the max amount of coins you can get DAILY is 50. you don't get credit for all the other time unfortunately

Niantic changed it to a limit of 50 coins per gym on the day of return. That means if you already received 50 coins for this particular day, you won't receive any coins from any pokemon that will return to you on the same day. It's an awful update, I know.

I think the gym rework would be much better if every time there was a raid at the gym Pokémon in the gym were returned to their trainers. So the coins would continue to flow and gyms would rotate much more quickly.

The problem with raids is when you have no one to raid with. Literally last week or more had to do all raids on my own. In a Facebook group for raids in my area but no one ever shows. One reason I think is that people are only going after tyranator raids now and even then no one was at the one I was at earlier. Raids have died a death here
When you're not outside to start a video you should use the drone starting on the floor of your apartment going up to the ceiling and flying across a room in your apartment. Would be fun! LOL

No one knows how to raid. If your Pokemon all get knocked out but other people are still fighting, just jump tap the gym again and jumback in with new Pokemon and resume battling with your friends.

You can heal your high dps mons and jump back into the fight. Sometimes that usually works better than using your weaker mons all the way through.
If all your team faits, normally you can heal quickly your pokemon and go back to the raid (if your fast maybe just lose 10s of the raid), maybe you would have beaten that tyranitar.

After evolving to my first Machamp (Bullet Punch/Close Combat), TMs came out and I got my Counter/Close Combat Machamp!! AND THEN? I got 2 Raid Machamps with Dynamic Punch charge moves, and Counter as a quick move for one, with Bullet Punch as a quick move for the other. TM'ed the Bullet Punch, and now I have 3 Machamps with Fighting Quick & Charge moves. Powered up all 3, now I'm at 3 ~2200 Machamps. YES! THANK GOD FOR RAIDS and TMs! #Blessed

I've joined a Snorlax raid I had my team faint a bit before it ended and it counted as a completion as I was able to jump back in with a whole new team.
It took 6 people in my group to take a Tyranitar down. Was pulling my hair out when I saw them using electric, fire, and Blisseys for it. Took us like 5 attempts.

QUESTION: the spreadsheet attached is incomplete (not showing ATK%, DEF%, DUEL% for Parasect - Zubat). Is there a complete spreadsheet?
While everyone is hypeing Machamp, I think one problem is overlooked. If the Tyranitar raid boss has Fire Blast, your Machamp is going to be very crispy bacon very quickly unless you dodge every charge move by that boss. While situations certainly may vary, using a good Watergun/Hydropump Vaporeon is a pretty viable alternative/addition to your Tyranitar raid team.
Fire Blast is easy to dodge even without the yellow flash once you figure it out. Swipe right after the ball of fire starts approaching you.
I agree that a Vaporeon is good to have at the end of your lineup, regardless.
I have learnt that now, thank you. There still seems to be quite a bit of splash damage when you dodge though, so Vaporeon could still have a role to play to conserve potions.

Using my first TMI got 96% dragon breath/outrage Dragonite. He has hyper beam before. Now he's my favourite pokemon to use
we'll always need a Machamp, but remember the raid bosses will probably be rotated, so don't put all the stardust into a single Machamp
You should figure out how to properly dodge charge moves in raids without the yellow flash and without spamming the dodge; that'd make for a very helpful video even for the most experienced players.
Some moves can be dodged just by watching the move's animation; for Fire Blast and Shadow Ball, I figured out to swipe right after the projectile starts approaching my attacker. For Machamp's Heavy Slam, I am swiping my finger as Machamp is thrusting out in his charge attack animation, which has kept my Alakazams and Espeon alive to do more damage when soloing. I haven't figured anything else out, yet.
Of course, moves with very short damage windows like Hydro Pump and Stone Edge are still troublesome and would just have to be anticipated.
poliwrath is a fine substitute for machamp. you should mention this nick,many people (myself included, until a recent raid.) don't have machamp, or even a reliable source for catching machop. I've been using a counter dynamic punch poliwrath and it does nearly as well as my machamp. until I dropped some stardust, my machamp was actually doing less damage.
