Joe ********** While both montages were greatly filmed and followed well with the music, I thought they were really out of place. Nick hinted at going to each one of the locations which the montages were based on, but there was no real purpose to introduce them like that, since it rapidly affected the pacing of the video before it, and I didn't really know what I was looking at until after the montages were done. It kind of got boring for me tbh. Needless to say, it didn't follow well with the rest of the video's "story" as you could call it, and was the fault of the editing. Not hate, just criticism. I undertand Nick's decision, since he must've not wanted to scrap all those shots he took, but I think the video would have been better without them.

The new gyms popping up destroyed the hotspot of our city. It was the only spot with 3 stops reachable (where you could even sit on benches)

I may sound weird but it seems like all of you guys were using the same style of music for a few days, and to me your music has always stood out and been more to my taste than the rest, (I even went and bought some of the music you have used in the past videos) so I'm happy to hear it back in this video! Of course I always want you to pick what you like, but I really enjoyed this video, and I love seeing you enjoying yourself! Nick, what do you & Reversal think would be the most effective way for Niantic to counter spoofers' advantage in the new Gyms?
Nick quick question, I don't think I have seen it addressed anywhere but do we know how other teams will actually go about taking down a gym? My real question is if each gym has six permanent slots once the first is killed off or defeated enough where it leaves from lack of motivation, if an attacking team is continuing to try and defeat the entire gym what is to stop the current team holding the gym from returning or happening to be there already and simply dropping in another pokemon since you no longer need to prestige up gyms to add slots? Will the gym simply fall once the attacking team defeats all the original six or is it similar to the old system where there is a set amount of gym experience where defeating each takes a piece out of that until it hits zero?? Hope that makes sense, thanks

**NEW FEATURE IDEA** :
Add voiceover narration that reads the pokemon's info/description in your pokedex like Ash's pokedex did in the show. That robotic voice is such a huge and iconic part of the original show, yet it's missing from pokemon go. I'm assuming it would probably pretty easy to add since the pokemon company probably owns the recordings from the show, so it's pretty likely they can just add in the voice narration like Ash had in his pokedex. Pokemon go's whole concept is to be immersive and authentic, so adding this would be really huge in achieving that.
WHY IT SHOULD BE ADDED:
1) Small additional feature that's easy to add and people would love since it adds a lot to the immersive/realistic aspect of pokemon go, which is the whole point of the app
2) Doesn't require months to add like major features (ie the gym rework, which was needed but took a while to implement)
3) Niantic adds major new features on a quarterly basis, which included stuff like the gym rework & adding Gen 2 pokemon. That means that there's long periods of time in between quarterly updates where nothing new really gets added, except for minor text features. This feature would give us something new, so we're not constantly let down when every new update is just the beloved "minor text fixes." A lot of people stuck with pokemon go when nothing new was being added, but people got bored of nothing new being added and the game did lose users. Smaller features like this vocal narration for the pokedex are a way of consistently adding new stuff.
4) why not include it? Everyone would like it, the pokedex talking to Ash & giving him info on the pokemon is such a huge part & iconic of the show. Pokemon go is supposed to be a realistic, real world game. So why not give people a realistic pokedex?
Do you agree this sounds like a good idea for a new feature/addition? Like this comment so Nick can see it! Then maybe he could suggest it in a video and we could see it added since Niantic definitely watches his videos

Watching this episode made me feel real happy, seeing all these people coming together to catch Pokémon and bringing friendship where there wouldn't have been any without this game

Problem with the update - So with coins returning to you once your gym is defeated, if say you live in an area where all gyms are mystic for example and are rarely taken down by other teams, u effectively could have a pokemon stuck in the gym for a long period of time and never gain coins for it until someone eventually battles? I see some gyms that have stayed identical months

I also have gyms around where I live that stayed the same for weeks, if not for months. But this update will probably change that. First, only 6 Pokemons to defend, and no doubles, so no more gyms with 10pokemons defending it, with all of them being Blisseys or Dragonite. The fact that there will be only 6defenders will make gyms much more doable. Also, defenders will lose CP as they lose motivation, so a gym with only 3000+CP defenders today could be down to 2500CP tomorrow. And from what I understood (could be wrong) they will not only lose motivation when defeated, but also should also lose motivation on their own with time, so some defenders can get kicked out on there own If not fed berries. All of this will make it way easier to beat a gym and you won't have to just give up the moment u see a gym lvl 10 with 3000cp Blisseys ever again. Finally, from what I understood, when a raid starts on a gym, the gym is cleared in favor of the raid Pokemon. So worst case scenario is even despite all of this a gym can't be defeated, it will still reset eventually when a raid starts.
I can't wait!!! I live near a gym and keep checking to see if it's active. I hope we don't wait long. And I hope that split screen with Nearby and Raids gets the addition of Sightings/PokeStops so we can finally see all the Pokémon available in an area!

they should make possible to battle just for fun, like, you go to a friendly gym and playaround with the mons already there, so players would be able to get their Ace Trainer
Alright this is what I think they should do, I think Niantic should up the cp depending on how many people join the raid. Say if there are 20 people the cp is set at 25k cp and if there were 30-40 people the cp would go up an extra 10k cp? That would make it fair, and I will totally love to see 30+ people around me taking down a raid boss. I see you Niantic.. making moves out here ! :)))
boma i believe he mentioned the raid limit would be 20, or idk maybe I heard that wrong. Either way, i kinda feel that the CP boost for raid mons is kinda insufficient, coz typically with a type advamtage its pretty non-difficult to beat a gym pokemon thats almost double your own mon's CP, The challenge in the gyms, I would say, has only been bulding a team for the whole gym roster but if its only one then the type advantage is all you need, really. Also, if I remember correctly, one of the screenshots showed that you can have up to 6 of your mons in a raid so that adds even more to the extreme ease of beating raids. If they're gonna keep the CP system that they have now then maybe it'd be neat if they had like set multipliers beforehand to showcase the raid mons' strength factor, then as the raid is being readied the CPs of all the pokemon going into the fight would be added up, then x1.15 (as opposed to x1.25 so as to counter the type advantage but still keep it kinda relevant), and then multiplied by that strength factor which could go from 1 to whatever the number is that makes the after-CP multiplier equal to 1.25, so the strongest raid mons (5 stars or whatever) would have type advantage canceled out unless they have double weaknesses.

Lets give it up for those 3 who made it to lvl 40 you could tell they were so happy and felt so accomplished. Its literally the biggest accomplishment in life rn im lvl 39 and 4 mil xp away from lvl 40 Im so excited.

Nick!! Why would someone from the same team want to feed someone else's pokemon their berries? Do they have any motive besides seeing their color in the sky? ...
I mean, its not like you get any coins for it and if anything, the quicker the gym gets overturned, the quicker you can battle and reclaim it to add your own pokemon anyways. I personally don't think I would want to invest MY own berries for someone else to be able to gather more coins, ESPECIALLY spoofers.

kawabj say you're already in the gym. the max level blissey of your teamate in said gym is low on motivation, therefore not as much as a challenge to attacking players. feed blissey berries, kore defensibility

Fairview Park in Costa Mesa is a huge Team Instinct holding ground with 6 gyms inside. You could definitely hold some gyms over there. It's a great place to fly drones too.

I just caught an Ampharos in my house its 1025 CP with Volt Switch/Thunder and about 80 IV!!!😊
2 rarest encounters during the Fire & Ice event: from my own Lure - a 1963 Vaporeon w/ Water Gun/Hydro Pump, and at my local Gamestop w/o Incense or Lure, a 1398 Flareon w/ Ember/Fire Blast. and they both can still be powered up.
love the new Gym overhaul (best way to describe it), though don't have many people to go attack Raids w/. have one friend that i go to a Nest at least once per migration. there are a few Gyms around my neighborhood, but in the coming heat, but not sure if i'll be walking to them to try to win the Raid Pokemon. (if it's raining, hell no. and i don't drive, so that's out)

With the new Motivation system, Nanab berries can be more useful now since the other two are mostly used for catching pokemon.

Can't believe this only has 4 likes. ALl of these new additions are great, but it's all still built on the shaky foundation of battling being just "tap tap swipe".
What I'd like to see would be the ability to teach your pokemon new moves, and to have it strategically matter which move you choose and when. One way could be to combine being able to choose from multiple attacks (like in the anime) with having attacks (even quick attacks) that have a strong type against the move type the enemy is using, be able to block / counter it. Eg, an ice quick attack can block a fire charge move. If you countered it could fill up your charge meter so you can return attack back quicker.
PJ Mobile should be water though. Ice is weak against fire :v
