Beautifully captured trip report. Very calming understated colour palette for business class, no bling thankfully. The only negative is the business suite is not so private but for a regional business class, still very good. Catering looked excellent.

Can't wait for the new Maldives airport to open. Hopefully the lounge offerings will be better. The food in the Leeli lounge is always disappointing, plus there is no alcohol...(grrr...)
I will need to catch up on your Maldives reviews as there are a couple of them that I have not watched yet. I recall that BA used to have rear facing seats in it's business class. I was not impressed. A number of these rear facing single seats also looked like they had no window which I find disappointing. For some reason I found the decor of the cabin rather plain and not to my taste. On the other hand, the food looked excellent. Your next flight looks more like it. 👍
Seems like you were slightly disappointed in aspects of the flight and service. It did look like a slightly more “vacation” version of what we’ve been accustomed to for Etihad premium products.

Just flew Delta One from Cape Town to Atlanta and I can tell you I hate the service the FA's provide. I feel guilty for even looking at them. I felt guilty for going up to the snack basket they put out that had one banana, one bottle of water etc. You try to have a conversation with them and they are too busy etc. Delta and United need to up their game big time.
No, his videos are filmed pretty far in advance (which is why we had plenty to watch during 2020, so good). For example, the flight over to the Maldives from Switzerland was posted two months ago and the people were wearing heavy coats.

Why can't the USA have this type of luxury national airlines? They make our airlines look like overpriced discount carriers. Other than a few American homebuilders. The world does luxury better than we do on almost everything.
Hi, As for the business travel question most Americans don’t travel outside American airspace and this gives American airline companies a monopoly over how Americans travel. Does not matter what country you fly, internal flights are always cheaper and less comfortable. Can’t comment about the rest of your question though
Have a look at their (ADQ) ownership structure. It is not a public corporation. If more Americans bought a higher quality class of service, more of that product would exist in a market economy. Profit drives the American airlines.

The aircraft landing is an Airbus 330 (CEO) with the livery of EUROWINGS. It also has a Discovery logo but the tail livery is definitely Eurowings.

I flew Etihad business in 2019. The seat layout was different to this video, but I recall it being comfortable. I'd fly with them again.
