- Is there anything you're ashamed of? Shame is a common emotion that I’m sure all of us have felt before. But carrying shame deep down can affect you in many harmful ways and often holds you back from your true potential. Yet, more often than not, we end up carrying shame that isn’t ours to carry. Curious to know whether the shame you might be carrying isn’t truly something to be ashamed of? We made this video to give you some reassurance because, after all, it can be a healing experience to hear that you don’t need to feel ashamed!
Also, we would like to welcome you to a new animator, Ricket. If you enjoy this animation or want to be our team, don't be afraid to email us at editorial@psych2go.net with what you could do for psych2go. :)

I’ve got friends who tell me not to cry when I feel like crying and those who tell me to let it out. The ones that tell me to let it out are so refreshing. Everyone always says “aww don’t cry” but it’s nice to have someone just let me cry without making it feel like crying makes my feelings invalid. I feel like people always take those who are crying less seriously? Like it makes them more “emotional” so whatever they’re upset about isn’t as bad.
Yeah I get what ur saying. I'm so sorry 😞 taht ppl make u feel that way.

@@existentialchaos8 Huh? How?
Well it's true... "in the end it doesn't even matter" because no one gonna remember anything except fot yourself (your achievements, mistakes etc)
@@lisajohnson6351 I mean like if you try to not care about others and ignore your empathy and shame, you will become more sociopathic, and if you do this a lot, you will start thinking like a sociopath.

Hope you're having a wonderful day too!
I'm trying showing this to my parents but they are so close-minded and they are still stuck in the past they never listen to when I have to say and always expect me to be a lot more better because they think it's best for me when they don't understand my choice is
Same bro
I understand you cuz same
You are not alone I totally have the same issue with my fam. Sometimes it's their way of overprotecting us and themselves because something new always seems like a threat.
The solution to that is dont care about what ur parents say. Do what you love, and find another support system like friends for example. But still care for your parents
I feel as though my parents have one vision for me, but the truth is I don't need to prove myself to anyone, so why should I feel like I need to prove myself to anyone if some people will never change?
I used to be so scared of embarrassment because of these points. I was the perfect student. And when suddenly it all crumbled I was so scared. It was like everyone is laughing and blaming me. And some were really laughing. It was not just my imagination. I am sometimes still scared of the embarrassment that follows it. But I tried to not mind stuff. Sometimes when I am very down some memories come and just make me feel so weird like everything I do is so bad. But still, I will do some things again. And it feels weird. To ignore that voice that says I will be laughed at if I do something but later It gets praised by someone else that because I was brave enough to say no or brave enough to fight against stupid rules someone wanted to put on me. Just to ask for help because I couldn't do it. Sometimes people say they sit there hoping someone see them worthy to ask for help in a certain area. But no one does. Asking help might not be just helpful to you. It can boost others confidence too. Like really. Even if voice inside my head scream that I will maybe feel embarrassment later, I will still not listen sometimes. Even that experience will teach me something. And some people are born assholes. They just want to push you down no matter what you do.
No one is perfect so don’t worry yourself too much 😊❤️
@@v1s54l8 tell that shit to my parents, they literally scream at me for cutting myself and then ground me for it , I do it because stress depression and suicide are constantly there , and they decide to fucking respond to it with more fucking emotional abuse
@@v1s54l8 meanwhile my parents straight respond to me cutting myself with grounding and insulting me , because I’m not their perfect fucking son who’s so pure and good who never would do anything against those beliefs like being gay or failing math , all they do is post anything they find out about me no matter how personal on Facebook and expect people not to dislike me and then insult me for their shortcomings, they make a mistake or the internet drops and it my fault immediately because I was in the room distracting them

What brought my spirits up while watching this video is when the cat showed up. I love cats. I very often feel ashamed of myself when I go over and over in my mind the events I could have done better on. Like letting myself get taken advantage of by salesmen and talked into doing or buying something I don't want. This happens a lot and I feel ashamed for not standing up for myself.
there are few decisions i made that were against my parent's will without them knowing, but my elder sibling told them everything in a very brutal manner. Everyone turned against me, punished me in every possible way they could, said thousand of things that broke me into thousand pieces, i am living with it from last 12 months, somedays i just cant help my head to not to replay those words. its getting worse, things are normal with parents but definitely not inside me.
This channel is helping me soooo much! I found you just in time - I had a HIDEOUS experience with someone this week and have been physically, emotionally and spiritually sick over it for days. Anger at myself and SO MUCH SHAME! How could I have been so stupid to ignore the warning signs, which were all there in 3,000 pt scarlet red font, bold, italicized and underscored?? How thick could I possibly be - like I haven’t been down this path ad nauseum. Anyway, I cannot afford therapy - I’m super grateful that you’re here. And a million thanks for your lovely, calm voice. I cannot and will not listen to screechy voices, vocal fries 😵💫🍟, roboticized voices or loud talkers - whatever message they’re trying to convey.
Oh, thank you so very much! There are a couple of these that have affected me quite a lot, and I have been blaming myself quite a lot for my entire life. Hearing this video has been very strengthening for me, it has made me feel great.
This is indeed re-assuring and a healing experience to hear. Yes, yes, yes. I cried a little about no. 7 "putting yourself first" because I've been feeling so lethargic and tired from life, what's been going on, and specially classes and I felt like I was being lazy so I beat myself up figuratively. I needed to hear this so much! Thank youuuu for making videos psych2go 😭💖
Like some months ago, I hugged all of my shames and literally love all the things that used to make me ashamed of myself. I now I am weird because I have the weird ability to do this but I am just saying it for those people that feel like other ways are not going to work for themselves to stop carrying their own shame.
Blaming yourself is a major problem. I think everyone do it and I also do it. It take all my energy. I am not able to do things that I like also. It really makes me tired mentally and physically but your video helped a lot. Thanks.💓
I appreciate your gentleness and kindness
I absolutely love this channel and everything you are doing to bring psychology to level of understanding that everyone can digest. Your videos have helped me understand more about myself and others around me. But I have to say, I was delighted when you mentioned uncle Iroh. This man, though not real, is synonyms with words of wisdom and encouragement. Everyone should have someone like this in their life. I wanted to say thank you very much for mentioning this wonderful character.

I was feeling really ashamed of a phase I went through when I was a teenager and just realizing how far I’ve come from then and realizing how it wasn’t in my control and I shouldn’t be ashamed of it really made me feel a 1000 times better, Thank you Physc2go this is the best birthday gift I could ask for😭🔥
This video hit me deeper than any other video y’all ever made thank you
I get shamed for being very sensitive and get called weak for crying, but the thing is that if I wasn't strong I wouldn't have made it this far, at least I'm smart enough to care about others feelings and help them feel accepted the way I wanted to be helped and the way I wanted to feel understood and accepted, I rarely feel understood but I'm still strong and at least I have myself and I understand myself which is enough most of the time but I do wish more people would be considerate that way we can live a little happier
this is one of the most helpful videos i have seen in a while. there are a lot of things i really needed to hear in this video, so thank you. also, to everyone reading this, I hope you have an amazing day or night wherever you are. you are a beautiful human being and you deserve so much love
Being positive doesn't mean always being happy it means that even on hard days you still know there are better ones coming
I needed this. thank you so much
This video is helpful.
I always hide my face because I don't have enough confidence, as I think I'm not beautiful. I always hear from my classmates and from family members that I'm not too good looking. I really feel sad. So I always hide my face.
I know how it feels when nobody sees u as special. So I always say anyone I meet 'u look gorgeous today'. Even though nobody repeats the same line to me back. It may be the first time someone told them they are gorgeous or not. I hate myself to look like this. So I always say all by myself 'I'm beautiful '.
We can't be gifted with all.. thanks to this channel I have improved a lot ,to try and love myself.
Nobody will ever say that I'm beautiful but it's okay. I have a heart and mouth I can say it myself.
That's for giving me the confidence
Shame is so hard to get rid of. I try so hard to not feel shame for who I am. But I constantly overanalyse my actions and feel like a horrible person. I can't seem to stop I feel like it's ingrained in me and it's a feeling that I've had my whole life
I really love this VO !!

There is something I am scared of. If I openly appreciate someone/something or declare my fondness/love, something bad always happens to them. It has happened so many times that now I try to never show my appreciation/thoughts to people or things. I am so scared that sometimes I cry when this happens. I don’t wanna lose the people around me. :(

Thanks phyc2go for such n amazing video, love your channel !!!
I’ve always felt ashamed my whole life. I truly believe it stems back from when I was a child as my mother would constantly criticise me for not being the perfect person she wanted. If I disagreed with her she’d be verbally abusive and say no one will ever love me, if I didn’t want to do something she’d be physically abusive. It was like that all through my childhood and teens.
Awe i' m so sorry.
Everything was so beautifully said!
