That dog was showing clear signs of anxiety. You should have stepped in and stopped your daughter from crawling all over her. The dog feels threatened, it didn’t have to happen that way.

The pound will put a dog down if they bite kids. It's just not tolerated in some areas. I can't blame them. My friend got bit when she was a little girl and said it was one of the most scariest moments in her life. I'd rather children feel safe than scared of a dog. If it was any other type of animal the same thing would have happened. Bear, lion, etc. Dogs can be just as vicious.
Ash Medina it was a small dog under 20 pounds. If it has an issue you handle it the proper and humane way. You don’t take it out back and shoot it when your kids are home!!!

I can get how hard that is I had an aggressive dog who bite more than one person but she was always sweet to me and the people she knew her whole life she was my child it took a 1000$ and two weeks of dog training to realize she wasn’t going to change and I had to give her up. It’s not an easy decision. If her daughter wanted to kiss the dog when she got bit she obviously had love for the dog too. It’s just a sad complicated situation and they did put the dog down when they realized it was a serious problem that wasn’t fixable.

If the dog was vicious towards children only, then the dog should have been rehomed to a home with no children. No need to be “put down”.
I spent 6 years in the foster care system. I was placed with two families. The first family taught me to be racist against Mexicans. I’m Mexican. I wasn’t allowed to speak Spanish to my sibling, whom I was with the only good thing I can say about the system is they kept us together.

Actually, I do agree with that. I previously stated putting down a vicious dog is ok. But putting it in a home without children or assholes sounds like a more humane option that I can support.
He’s only saying that the dog had aggressive tendencies to cover his ass. The dog likely wasn’t aggressive at all. But rather, abused by the entire family for a very long time. He never tried to train that dog and I would bet my life on that.

It's not uncommon to put down an aggressive dog, in fact, it happens ALL the time. The only issue was how he did it and also, being in the public because in the country, they will put down their own dogs. It wasn't and isn't uncommon.

Yep. My dog nipped at my toddlers face because she pulled her tail. I got rid of her. Luckily my mom wanted her and has no children in the home. She gets along great with her cat though. My toddler pulled my other dogs tail and all he would do is bark to tell her no basically.
I live in NC and I'm from a small hick town and we DO NOT shoot dogs like that. We dont just put it down because it bites or whatever.

The pound is a death sentence for 90% of the dogs who go in there. Especially ones who have a bite history. They wouldn’t have even tried to rehome the dog it would have been put on the euthanasia list immediately.

I had a Frenchie that didn't have any tendencies to bite and one day randomly bit my child's finger. I rehomed the dog to people with no children. Never bit anyone since the dog just had a fear of kids jumping around him.

I totally agree, but I think that MTV has some responsibility for what the kids go through. MTV watched Jenelle go through pattern after pattern and trauma after trauma and let it happen for the ratings. Jenelle was a teenager with an unstable relationship with her main caregiver and MTV took advantage of her vulnerabilities by filming it without giving her any true opportunities to learn how she should be treated, how to address trouble with emotional regulation, how to break the trauma linked co-dependencies, etc. One episode with Dr. Drew during the season finale is a terrible attempt for MTV to suddenly start caring about the health of the teen parents or their children. I think they inhibited her growth on purpose. You can't learn what you don't know about life if there is no one to show you how.
Ok, well in today’s day and age, when a dog doesn’t “fit” with the family, you REHOME THE DOG! You do NOT shoot the dog! It did NOT have to happen that way!
Your right he should have took it to the pound to be put on the euthanasia list so it could sit in a cage scared to death while it waits to be killed instead.
There are other ways to re-home a dog

Rehoming it isnt going to stop it being aggressive though unfortunately all the dogs home would do is pts with lethal injection so being shot was probably less painful and quicker than being injected with deadly poison
The problem with the first 5 minutes is that this gentleman went on and on about how this dog had a long history of biting his children. Instead of rehoming the dog, retraining the dog, or separating the dog from the children he literally videos records his baby laying on top of the dog and is somehow feigning surprise at what happened? It was a completely avoidable situation and the only person to blame is the only one who had adult human cognizance.
That dog is displaying signs of fear. Simple. It is our jobs, as humans who own domesticated animals, to recognise these signs and act accordingly. The dog wouldn't have bitten the child if the parents in the room intervened when necessary (as soon as they saw any signs of fear, like in this video). This poor animal lost it's life due to sheer stupidity/ignorance.
