I love this plugin. I was struggling to get a vocal to fit in a mix recently. I switch over to this plugin and the vocal fit right in very quickly. The 31 E is by far my favorite.
Yeah, it'd be good to see you do a full mix on it, I bought it during it's intro period as well. I don't mess with it as much as you did, half the time I stick with the presets, I got to move on from the presets.
Hey UNC Dave, thanks for reviewing this channel strip. I tried the 14 day trial and was kind of impressed with this emulation. Like you mentioned its not overly colored and saturated, very subtle as it should be. But its something about it I actually hear and feel where other emulations pull up kind of lame. Analog Obsession is pretty much on par. I don't know what they did but its working. I was kinda on the fence should I purchase another Neve plugin. Then I thought about how expensive these plugins have become and I seen this thing is going for a whopping $20. I've paid way more for plugins that sounds less exciting than the Vooseteq. So what the hell I think it's a great splurge specially for the price. Uncle Dave you're doing a great job with your channel appreciate it.
Hey Dave! Thanks for doing another great video on this plugin man 👐🏻 Similarly to you, I got this VOOSTEQ a month or so back and I really rate it for getting decent results quickly. I like the compressor and EQ options and I still can't believe it only cost me £18 quid! Bargain!!! My favourite NEVE style plugin....for now! 😉 Have a great weekend Fella 👍🏻
Its my favourite Neve channel strip. The saturation sounds incredible in my opinion. For 20€ its insane. Love their compressor too. You should try that too. It has vibes too and the GUI is great too. Please make a full mix with their plugins...because they have only two!😂 Greetings from Germany Michael
Cool demo - I bought this too last year and have been very impressed, and for the money it's outrageously useable and lovely sounding. I'd love to see you do a full mix with it. By the way just watching you solo individually in Studio One.... you probably forgot that you can just click on one solo and swipe across the other channels to solo them all right ? Timesaver ! - Same with mute, arm and monitor - just in case you forgot. Great stuff..
I built a SO template with this plugin. Love it. The analog flavor is much more noticeable across all the tracks / buses as oppose to one instrument in my opinion.
This plugin is STILL $20, and it holds its own (or is better) compared to plugins of *any* price. It is outstanding! It just sounds so good, it's easy to navigate... And it has some versatility in the sound -- from the swappable parts to the transformer selection, etc.! (And YES, "Old/New" does change the sound!!) 🙂
I too amd a big fan of this plug. In fact, I think it is he best Neve emulation algo I have heard. It is even close to my Acstica Gold. I love the Neve low-mid bump as most do, this plug is very subtle. I used to own a Great River 2 channel pre. That thing was expensive, I got mine for just over a thousand dollars and I know the price went up significantly after I purchased mine. I ended up selling it, I regret it so much, one of the worst mistakes I have ever made concerning gear. I highly recommend this plug.
I can't wait for the upcoming SSL update so I can try my UC1 out with other channel strips like this one. Seems like £19 is a great price for this one. 😎
I shot it out against some uad strips and preamp models. After the blind test it seemed that it really didn't sound better, just more of the same you'd expect for a good hardware emulation plugin. But what impressed me is how fast I was finding a sound that I enjoyed with this. I look forward to mixing more with it
I put it against the UA 1084 (my favourite Pre from UA) and while it took a little longer to find the setting, I got it sounding a slight but noticeable bit better. Using console 2 I think, the saturation on it slightly out does UA's imo.
I've bought this pluggin after a geek friend introduce me to it. I'm a videographer and really need to understand better how to work my audio. If you do a full mix course with this pluggin I'm ready to pay for it!
Could you please tell what a chain did you use for recording the acoustic guitar nad what an instrument it is. I love it. I would guess some Neve and Neumann 184 or 185.
@@ianchattam9368 same here, I remix my old Lindell 80 mixes. I know it is just like believing a plugin is a game changer. It is never the case, there are too many parameters involved. I believe voosteq is Better...
Sounds very good, it is the sound, but I have to many. There is just to much I could use out there and I already have my setup ready, but for people with less it is a no-brainer. Might consider it if they add an API and more.
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy I record on a potato, so I have to track (dry) first and then apply Voosteq as a general tone sculpting tool afterwards, followed by a tape plugin. This gives you some analogue(ness) as if you were tracking through it. At that point I freeze the track and then start the mixing process.
Hmmm... Are you going out loud enough? Video i came from right before this it sounded really good and really obviously did something... But has a wife range of saturation and nonlinear qualities.... It's really easy to overdo it with the noise ash stuff for example.... I thought this sounded more musical
@@ericsami2277that’s lies, their whole Lindell bundle sounds damn good..if you can’t afford a company’s product then that’s your personal problem, not theirs.
I bought this plugin a while back and it is all over everything now. Makes my stuff sound more like the records I love.
Thanks for watching!
Yeah it sounds better than most emulation plugins
I tested this channel in a mix and I have to admit that it surprised me positively. This is the sound!
NICE!!!
Thanks for taking the time to do this one. I'm really loving Model N.
My pleasure!
I own this plugin for quite a while and this thing is amazing! I love the sound of it!
Glad you enjoy it!
FULL MIX PLEASE!!! I've been waiting anxiously for your review great video
maybe soon
🤩🤩 Well THAT was pretty darn GREAT!
Yeah, I’d watch a whole live mixdown with THIS plugin on every channel.
👍😎👍
More to come!
I had bought this about two weeks before you did a video on your end of year purchases . I also liked it on a mix. Pretty cool plugin.
Congrats! Hope you dig the sound!

I'd love to see a full mix. I been using this on my full mixes lately and it's so good. Very realistic analog sound. 😎🔥🔥🔥

Thanks for very much for the kind words! Enjoy the plugin
Full mix would be killer!!! It's good educational content seeing you use it. Plus the plugin kicks ass

i really like this plugin. ive used it on piano in a record of my so far and it brought it to life is the craziest way. gave it so much presence.

Thanks for the review. I like it and definitely prefer it to the Softube British Class A.
Cool!
This neve emu is so good. Admittedly I use the 31102 most the time and the compressor is too good!
Good to know!
This video made my day thank you excellent content
youre very welocme

I'm a sucker for a killer GUI as well..shows attention to detail!
me too! :)
I love this plugin. Just amazing.
Cool! Thanks for watching!
hi.. how's this on CPU usage? is this ok for an all channels thing (simulate tracking workflow)?
If you have a modern computer, you'll be fine
Also, damn, what's the signal path for that bass guitar? is that DI or mic'd? Sounds soooo nice
Thanks for watching!
I got this one a few months ago and I think it's the best.
Cool. Thanks for watching!

I did not record the track.
How does it compare to Lindell 80? Please do a comparison clip.
No idea, maybe at one point. Or.....you could demo both yourself and decide which you like.. you dont need me...LOL
The Lindell was my favourite - I use this now.

I started using this as my first layer of processing. As if I was tracking through it.

man that bass player can PLAY!!

I tried it and liked it, but for me, nothing as of yet compares to the Channev Neve channel strip.
Ok, great. thanks for watching!
Been using it for a few months. Funny i also like the fake mode😅
LOL
Any idea why does it unbalance my mono channel ? That’s the only fault I find with it
No idea, sorry
HW does that. Gotta compensate after the plugin with pan insert

Yep, got it for $20 back in January.
Great deal!!
Nice, nice

Seeing this, it’s almost shameful that something like the Lindell 80 is so goddamn expensive…
I hear that!
Plugin alliance is a total rip off and marketing based…not sound based. This channel strip sounds good. Impressive.
Exactly what I think.
