Thanks for the video. I can confirm it is possible to do this without removing the glove box or other interior trim, although it is mightily awkward. Purchased a replacement from GSF Car Parts - a genuine MAHLE component rather than something off eBay. Worked a dream and saved me a mint.
My wife's DS3 blower was on all the time. I couldn't remove the glove box but managed to replace the resistor by removing the trim under glove box and the small bit of trim next to it (1 screw). Very fiddley but can be done. Blower now works normally.
I had the same problem and the same solution I have a 13 plate C3 but the transistor plug is round in my model, very fiddley but can be done and its working perfect now----sorry about the wee bit plagiarism!
Hi, I watched all the videos available for the blower motor resistor on RUclips so I opened the black cap with a flat screwdriver and saw on the the inside a transistor, I checked the number and saw it was a mosfet and it tested short circuit between the drain and source of the mosfet, I bought a replacement mosfet at my nearest electronics store and soldered it in and the issue was fixed, I didn't have to spend all that money on a new one, it was a really cheap fix, converting it back to British pound it was 0.84 pounds sterling for the part, it works 100% now, just sharing some info if someone has basic electronic skills and want to rather fix it. Realy helpful. Removing glovebox requires certain amount more tugging than on yours. So for anyone else, There are 2 screws and 3 plastice trim clips under the glovebox, and three across the top of th eglove box, the rest is just tugging to free the retianing clips. Did snap one of th eclips off, but glovebox went back in afterwards and screws hold it back in place. To remove the fan resister i did need to remove the wire connector and then get some grips in to get the turning force - it moves no more than a tenth of a turn. Fans now running properly again. Could not have done this without the video, and instead would have ended up sepnding £100+ at the garage, rather than £18 for the replacement part and < 1 hour of time.

Hello there (Helpful video) My citreon c3 (2004 reg) makes a clicking noise each time the AC is on turned on. I came across an article that mentioned that the usual cause is the stepper motor gear missing a tooth, this moves the diverter flap and is a common fault. Would you know what is causing this and what i need to do exactly please. The AC also blows hot air and only works at times not all the time. please help.
Whats the symptoms? My blower works fine as it should but they have never blown as hot is i would of expected. Had the car 3 years now and its always been like this cam belt water pump has been done and no heat gasket issues and car gets up to temperature ok and has never over heated… its just the blowers have always been luke warm and never actually get hot enough inside the car to ever really need to switch them off
+paul dutchman It's clipped together in quite a few places so it will be quite difficult to pull off, but I can understand you not wanting to pull and break it. It really does take some pulling, if it doesn't come out then the only thing I can suggest it take the car to garage and ask them to take it off.
My 2010 C3 Climate has gone, just stopped from one second to the other... The Dealer wants to replace the whole assembly (1000quid) another garage just the entire fusebox (300quid). Don't know how to proceed. Like to find the cause (cause none of the two dealers told me the real cause...). Anyone Anyidea? appreciated and thanks.

I've just had the same problem, as there's the airbag to consider I didn't want to heave it! It is possible to do it without removing and also without unscrewing the side panel (1st thing done in the above video) as neither T20 nor any other bit would budge it. I bend it back and dropped the cover under the box and managed to FIRSTLY unclip the wiring and then the resistor. All three knuckles are bleeding but SUCCESS and working!! PS The side panel pushes back into place and finally the lining under the glovebox.

There is 3 more screws on the bottom and side of glove box...

It's easy but just a bit fiddly and no sorry, hope you find some.

There's also a third screw on the bottom left hand corner, only accessible after pulling off the panel on the left of the glovebox, by the door trim.
