my schools orchestra teacher and band teacher have decided to put orchestra, percussion and band together and were playing this piece for our end of year spring concert. this medley is my favorite out of all the pieces since i play part one with the clarinets and it sounds reallyyyyy nice. i’m a violinist btw
I play clarinet. I love the music from West Side Story. My advanced band played a different arrangement of this, but the arrangement that we played had "Cool" in it which was awesome.
I'm playing this song for the last band concert of the school year! I play clarinet and i'm obsessed with playing the part at 1:09 >u

After a while my high school finally got a band teacher and we did this exact same arrangement for a concert to pay homage to Leonard Bernstein.

America hasn't got the right feel without the alternating 6/8 3/4 pattern from the original musical score, it takes the drive away.
