Lachy is quietly building his legend. Yet, during the interview he said nothing about being a multiple record holder. That's classy. Hopefully the pro racing world will allow more unconventional riders like him to make a decent living. Thank you for making my day!
I love Lachlan's training philosophy. Its not about winning and hating training and doing set workouts. Have fun on bike! Enjoy the bike. Keep the love of riding part of you.
This is wonderful. I like to think I am comfortable descending big hills fixed (UK, Welsh Marches). But... I would not have the bottle or confidence to do so on a loose surface. That is another level. I can spin briefly at 175-180 on a big drop, but not with power... just letting the legs go. These guys are anpther level. Also (now aged 60) I cannot sustain these fast descents on fixed and have to brake every now and then to get the legs down under 140 before speedong up again. But as anove... These guys are absolutely on it. And... Chatting while climbing. Chatting while climbing! Hat! (As we say on the UK).
I was literally rewatching the Gus episode last night and was wondering why you guys haven't done one of these with Lachlan, so what a treat to wake up to this today! Lachlan is my cycling spirit animal, and I'm glad you chose one of the best climbs in Boulder to do the interview on!
Lachlan seems like such a solid dude. Watching stuff like this and the EF channel has definitely got me out and about doing way more *dumb shit* on my bike during lockdown... ta!
Soo amazing. Jaw dropping how easy they ride fixed downhill on such steep grade. Also climbing on 49/18 gear ratio is impressive. I ride my thunderbird state bike with 36/13 on single track mtb trails in Aspen, but not fixed. Can’t be fixed on jumps, or rocky downhills. Good job guys!
Ive been for a few months! Great production value, great interviews, beautiful bikes and roads and even a few cools songs that I made sure to save! :D keep the good work!
His form is so fucking perfect that when he's at that low of a cadence it just looks like slow motion. The only way I knew it wasn't was because he was talking.
Great stuff guys impressive ! Here's how I roll: Singlespeed is just as challenging up grades yet allows you to rest knees on down hills. I'll run a 16-17 or 18 fixed cog on one hub side & Single speed 17 or 18 cog on the other side - on a 'flip-flop hub'. Bring a 15mm wrench to swap over. Go out fixed at outset or uphills then swap to Singlespeed upon return leg or descending.
10:40 - 10:58 That's the GD truth right there - if we all had a little more of that, we'd all be better people. Another truth bomb at 19:01. This guy has it figured out.
Haha this ride is brutal for me on a 39x25! These guys are freaks. Rode Rist Canyon last week and to think Lachlan rode the top bit 42 times in 7 hours and change is mind boggling. Reading about it doesn't make it sink in.
Read this comment thought omg bore off but then saw how much his butt was jiggling up and down on the high cadence and totally agree boi needs to sort that out
Just a more technical question: I also ride fixed uphill sometimes, and when I'm on a heavier ratio I usually get some slightly intimidating creaky sound from the chain that feels like it's tractioning a bit too much. Is it an indication that is getting close to failure?
Is this the official RUclips channel for the company because if it is you guys still haven’t contact me about my order. Never have I ever had to wait this long for a purchase from your site.
This bike was really easy to assemble ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
Going uphill with contant elevation is possible, but unluckily in my city there is no such thing. All it’s left available is double downhill with super steep hillclimb
The old Cannondale track aluminum frames from the early 90’s are hugely popular in the messenger community. They do look good but I’ve never really been a fan myself.
No disrespect meant to anybody involved in making this, but how does it work with sponsorship with Cannondale vs State? EF rides Cannondale, and Morton's riding a Cannondale in this video, but the video is put together by State. Is there a conflict of interest here? Does Morton get less from State for making the video because he's riding a Cannondale? Again I don't mean any disrespect to anybody involved, just curious how it all works.
Just when I thought these couldn't get any better, enter Lachlan Morton.
DKlein- just throwing it out there
His pedal stroke looked so smooth descending.
Ascending too

The best bike series on RUclips. 👍

@@statebicycle When this clusterf##k is all over, y'all come to China and tear it up. Riding fixed, on the great wall, with Pros.
man of the moment
Amen.
Can't agree more about when you link two places together to make a loop. Something so satisfying about that.
**chef kiss**

These 2 eps might be the best 2... but then again, they're all good :D
Lachlan seems like such a solid dude. Watching stuff like this and the EF channel has definitely got me out and about doing way more *dumb shit* on my bike during lockdown... ta!
Such a solid dude.
YES to that. Put fat(ter) tyres on my steel road bike (32mm would accept) and hit the trails in the woods absolutely love it
5:40 the homie's double take: "are they riding fixed?!"
I found myself smiling ear to ear watching them descend. Lachlan always makes being on a bike look so fun.
Same - we can't stop watching!
This is the one I was waiting for
YES YES YES - US TOO!

lachlan being a wizard is my new favorite trope in cycling
Warlock.
I'm so glad these are back. Vicarious traveling in covid times.
I feel like taylor phinney would be a good rider for these!
Lachlan inspires me. As do these videos. I actually expect my singlespeed to arrive today.
What a great video. Never expected to get such a blast from a film clip. And some life philosophies to think about. Thank you.
Lachlan makes me smile. Great video!
:D "Smiles for Miles"
Linking sections of trail together rides are so gratifying!
Class video + edit. 0:16:30 onwards is a joy, makes you feel like you are actually on the bike drafting them.
this is the coolest series ever! :D

So relaxing man this ep inspired me to convert my bike into fixie😅💞
Getting Lachlan on your already amazing series - talk about a smart move 🧐💭
Thank you - glad we pulled it off. We got him literally 1 day before he had to go to Europe on 2 days' notice!
Lachlan is so rad - great video.
Lachlan for President!
LOL!! the descending is hilarious!! Great 👍 job guys!!

real cool, thanks for the inspiration, PS looks like you could drop your seat about 12mm to stop that bounce and have a fraction more power seated
Read this comment thought omg bore off but then saw how much his butt was jiggling up and down on the high cadence and totally agree boi needs to sort that out
Compare it to L’s totally still pelvis
Finally another episode and with favorite cyclist 🚴♀️ 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Love this
It would be interesting to see Lachy in the Red Hook Crit! I think he’ll love it & the atmosphere that those races give.
My knees hurt from just watching this.
Lachlan Morton is Bad Ass.

I really like this guy.
ITS BACK!

Likskillet on a fixie.. Another level right there
Austyn Gillette of Peloton
Legend!
That really slowed down the pace, and they really worked. EF guy downhill was smooth, only his legs were moving, the other guy was bouncing.
Finalmente un account dove non si vedono biciclette con i freni a disco.

Sound mixing, seriously, the sequences are all like 10db over the talking. I like to be able to watch in a single volume gear.
Great video

Possibly one of my top 10 videos featuring a World Tour rider trying to levitate a stick.
god damn those descent are buttery smooth
Best downhill yet!
seriously though, how do you reclip?
They have brakes.
Triangle for sure
everything thats right about riding your bike
That's what we're about.
I believed that stick had a genuine shot at moving, because if anyone can levitate a stick, it's Lachlan Morton.
16:05 Man I just got a major Dale Earnhardt Sr vibe... Maybe his stick levatating powers actually conjured The Intimidator instead. :O
"hey it's eric marcotte" hahahahahahaha
Anyone know what handlebar bag Lachy has on?
D-klein
Does anyone know what the Tattoo is on Lachlans left arm? I swear I recognize it but I just can't place it.
Holy cadence!
No le puedes dejar subtítulos en español estuvo muy vacano tu vídeo
Dropping an MTB'er on fixie, nice!
anyone know the song that started playing when they began the descent?
What brakes are on the Undefeated?
Take A BIG Care .
yaaaass

I thought fixed gear bikes didn't have brakes?
those are som really cool descends thou, are there anything like that in europe? ie hilly gravel roads?
We're sure there are many! Maybe we need to shoot Season 4 there :D

Dante young next?
Is this a legit jersey which Lachlan wears or has he cut the arms of the jersey which seems to be a size or two too large for him?
Pretty sure he’s wearing a T-shirt, not a jersey.
@@MediocreSalad-z9h We will never know whether it is a fashion statement or an improvised move because he had no real Team EF jersey around. :)
Rapha made some technical shirts for EF last year that the guys all wore for the alternative race calendar.
10:02 some guy trying to draft
I love that. Super low gear and full suspension. Clearly hating life.
ahaha)) didn't even notice
can't understand mtb´s on pavement
GEAR RATIO? please?
Nice. If only. Me to.
Going uphill with contant elevation is possible, but unluckily in my city there is no such thing. All it’s left available is double downhill with super steep hillclimb

No money changing hands. We allow our guests to showcase any of their sponsors they want and have a fun day riding and documenting it
It’s a win-win. We get a guest.
They get promotion and we cover production costs
