The shelves on each side of my fireplace are the bane of my existence. I change them around once a year and it takes me all day. 😂 In my next home, I do not want bookshelves flanking my fireplace. Too much stuff to dust.

They are wood now and horribly warped since the 70's when my house was built. I also want to spray paint the door knobs a dark pewter metallic. They are the cheap 70's worn out brass color now. 😊

My grandparents bought high end furniture and decor in 1962 when they bought their home. Kept it exactly the same. Still looks fresh and beautiful no clutter just enough art and decor perfect

Another no-cost easy one is to move art/pictures from wall to wall or room to room. Problem with throw pillows can be that the colors in one room might be totally incompatible with another!

Painting our doors, my hubby and I were talking about how the trim looks bad compared to the walls. We had our interior painted when we moved in but just the walls not the trim. He replaced the flooring upstairs and never finished the baseboards but we were talking about doing that soon and i mentioned the trims all need a cleaning and fresh coat. The walls are ok. I have a sticky roller and went around the house rolling it on the walls, i had 2 cats and in 2 of the rooms you could see thier hair stuck to the walls, not all the rooms but it was weird there were a few that it was everywhere. Once i cleaned those up it looked better but the trim could really use a refresh. We're happy with the colors on the walls so I don't want to change that but the doors and trim could use it.

Sadly some homeowners or residents in the L.A. fires aren't thinking about decorating much less some know they aren't going to get covered... I wonder if FEMA will even hand out the $750.

The best paint is Glidden Diamond. It’s $18/pint or $35/gallon.
