I needed this video. My entryway is narrow and tight. Inspo images are typically images of large spaces. Focusing on a theme and building up smaller pieces is SUPER helpful.
For those who need a mirror but do not want it as main entryway due to feng shui or other reasons. If you have a coat closet hanging one inside is actually a good idea you can quickly get ready coat up shoe up check yourself and done.
HELP😮 I needed this video. My entryway is 3 ft wide😮 Love the ceiling decorating idea. Please make the creating art video. I look forward to seeing your ideas.
Keva, you look so cute today. Thank you so much for teaching this old lady and others. I would love to see a video about using coupons for purchasing decor. You and Julie( I hope I remembered the correct name for your wife. )😊rocked on those lights. Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. Can’t wait to sneek a peak(if you guys are willing, one day. I have noticed you seem so so happy. And I remember you talking about your hospital stay of three days. So, I know it’s because your family is home and safe. Your daughter is blessed to have you and your wife to love and nurture her. May Jehovah God continue to shower blessings on your family. Sending love( like a grandma) to you and yours. ❤❤❤😊
My front door sits across from the stairway to the 2nd floor. There is no space on a wall, other than the drywalled staircase, to put anything. I do have mirrors, including one tiny one with hooks. On the other hand, the door to our garage is most used, and the laundry room (narrow) gave me enough wall space to hang shelves for storage of gloves and keys and bags, and shelves for hanging clothes. We work with what we live in.
The original builders of my (single story) house changed the front of the house from a double garage set up to a single garage and an extra bedroom/study and a larger than necessary entryway. This left the entry with no window access, just light when the front door was open, and it was very dark and depressing. The best thing I ever did was to get a round skylight installed in the entry. It has changed the whole feel of the house and is so lovely and bright, and plants love that degree of light.
Another great video! Wish I had an entry. You enter right into my livingroom when you come in my home. I really like burgandy. I have a merlot type of color wall in my livingroom. I love the idea of color drenching. My husband not so much. We shall see :)
My home is the same. Only my colors are cream, sage green, black and some tans. I’m looking for a console table. I like yours. I think I want black. My sofa is off white. I’m really stumped on my living room. I need some art behind my sofa. Your video on canvas art is in my mind, but I haven’t tried it yet. Thanks foe educating us.❤😊
Kiva, I absolutely love the pendant light conversion. I had no idea these were available. I think maybe a dozen or more! Just kidding but I definitely can think of a couple of spots ❤
Such fun to hear your tips---mine would be to make sure you put a good amount of zhoozh into the space---it's the way your house introduces itself. (I LOVE your pendant lights, perfect for your style, unique, very zhozh!!)Ssince you changed the name of your channel it hasn't popped up on my recommended videos, so now I'm binge-watching the last 3. Hmm. Anyway, YES on the couponing!
Mama Bear is looking cayyyuttee. My entryway dumps right into the living room. I try to carve out a space to take off your shoes and also maybe hang a coat etc. Its an area that can easily get messy and give a bad first impression.
I can't use a door mat outside because of my condo hallway. Do you have any recommendations for low pile entryway rugs? The clearance under my door is pretty tight.
May I suggest indoor/outdoor rugs? They are pretty much indestructible, are flat, & come in all sorts of nifty patterns. If you are REALLY tight for space or want something with a more luxe look, try Ruggables---they are almost completely flat, come with their own non-slip mat that velcros to the rug, & are washable in a machine. They have super beautiful patterns & they wear really well.
Took me a year, but I finally purchased my console table! It's perfect and I love it! But, it's naked lol. I'm here to figure out how to "dress it up."
What type of rug would work best on a long tile entry that is a muted natural stone like pattern in variegated color tones? Should it be a solid or would a print work?
These are great tips, but my issue is that I walk into my living room which is open-floor plan (I hate it, bae loves it). Do you have any tips on how to create some feeling of an entry in this situation?
I have 6 frames going down our wall 2 on each row. Would you recommend one light above the two frames, I’m only able to have one light or they’ll be super close or no light at all?
How can I create a foyer area when I have no walls to place art, mirror or Cabinets? There are double glass doors to the left when you walk in that goes to the office into the right is an open formal dining area and straight ahead is an open great room.
I don’t have an entryway. But I do have a cabinet by the front door. But I have to move it to my hallway when I put up the Christmas tree. I have a small house with not many options of arranging my furniture. I have a rug in front of my front door and back doors. To try to catch the mud that might come in. I do have a large mirror across from the window in the wall across from it. Trying to make this house look larger.
Yes. We walk right into our living room. With like a 4 ft by 4 ft tile entry floor which the outside door swings over. That’s it. Please help us, Kiva. What do we do with a “no entryway, entryway”?🥺🙏😄
To me, less is more in an entry way. I like a big mirror over a narrow console table. I do not like storage in an entry way...I like the console table with no bottom level. It floats better to create an illusion of space. An entry way is just that..an entry way not a closet.
If you live where it snows there's no way you're cleaning your shoes outside on a carpet that's probably full of snow?? Also where are the tips regarding unsightly shoes and boots piling up in the hallway for those of us who don't have a dedicated entryway closet? Kind of a disappointing video.
Thanks for the high impact / low effort design gems. By the way, cute outfit.
Thank you!!
Whaaaaaat how did you know I was struggling with the entry way in my new house??? Teach me your ways, wise one, I am READY.

Same! New entry way is so much larger and open...struggling with the rug -- how large; two rugs instead of one? I dunno. It's confusing.

Changing the doors out, so they work with the bones of the space the concept doors speak Everything speaks
I needed this video on my life right now. I'm in the middle of an entryway refresh.
Ooo yay!! How’s it going?
Love the black door designated separate from all your white doors.
Thank you so much, your home is absolutely gorgeous! ❤😊
This is so good!! Thank you!
All right, Kiva. It wasn't until the end of the video that I realized you spoke at a pace that was understandable. 😉Good job. 😊
I just added rug tape to my shopping list.
Hot tip (pun intended) - if you need to pull it back up, use a hairdryer as you pull. The heat helps so much!
I love the wall paper ceilings!
Loved this video. So many great tips ❤
Thank you!!
Very nice Kiva!
Thank you!!
First I wanna say I love you and your videos 🤗
If I were to walk into your house with all those bright lights for me that isn’t very welcoming!

I want to see the art video!!!!!
These are great tips, but my issue is that I walk into my living room which is open-floor plan (I hate it, bae loves it). Do you have any tips on how to create some feeling of an entry in this situation?
Your entryway is stunning and I love the DIY "grand tour" art! I love my wax covered LED candles, too. Happy holidays to you and your family!
Kiva, how easy was the assembly of your entryway console? I just ordered the same one.
Pretty easy!! It took about 20 minutes.
I have 6 frames going down our wall 2 on each row. Would you recommend one light above the two frames, I’m only able to have one light or they’ll be super close or no light at all?

I was thinking of putting a gold frame on my protruding fire alarm?
do you have the link for the bust in your artwork

Hi Keva. What about windows? Do people care about dressing windows any more?
A lot of these new homes are just a little tiny boxes so there isn’t even an entranceway
Yes. We walk right into our living room. With like a 4 ft by 4 ft tile entry floor which the outside door swings over. That’s it. Please help us, Kiva. What do we do with a “no entryway, entryway”?🥺🙏😄
I hate that! I refused to buy one without an entryway. It was a must on my list.
Not all the links seems to be working properly, I clicked on the light converter and it took me to the artwork lighting.
In design, it’s all about the flow DESIGNER ❤️
Where are we putting our jacket then .My entry way is like that in your thumb with any ❌😂
Did I miss fresh flowers or a statement real (not faux) plant?

Hey, Kiva, babe & baby!!

First one to comment😊

Dang, I moved and now there’s no entryway.😢
If you’re a no-shoe house, please put a bench or something I can sit on to put my shoes back on when I leave. PLEASE!!!
Has baby arrived? What is her name?
