As someone who's done "costume jewelry" (non-precious metal jewelry pieces) for a metalwork class, the olive honey seems to hit every shade of brass. in the mixing beaker it looks like yellow brass that's started to tarnish, and on the stick it looks like freshly cleaned brass maybe even with a bit of fire scale (where annealing or soldering the brass brings some of the copper in the alloy to the surface). When it flashes on the gunmetal it hints at an old worn brass look, which it could probably hit with a warmer grey behind it.
Completely aside from the extra bonus points you deserve for the random (and unmentioned) Bald Eagle appearance, this color is an absolute 10 out of 5! Best thing I've ever seen you do, by far!!
You know, Fonzie, I kinda like it. I'm not a fan of green (I think it has something to do with being green/brown colorblind myself), but this actually looks not half bad. Over the gunmetal, it looks like a very subdued olive drab green with gold highlights. The gold really pops, so it makes it look great. Not bad ... 4 outta 5 in my book.
This is one of my favorite colors, but IMO you only want to use it with classy designs... almost all BMWs happen to have classy designs, so this worked very well. A 1994 Ford Taurus Wagon is going to look horrible.
It works so well because this pearl has a green base. Gunmetal is a cool tint (blue undertones), and blue mixed with green is just blue green, not brown like some other mixes are. Then the yellow on the blue makes that greenish tint again. It works because none of the colors clash. Good choice.
5/5 I generally love the more subdued green and gold colors, so this is a definite hit for me. Doesn't quite knock Gloom Green off the throne, but it is VERY close.
This is definitely in my top 3! It gives off such a futuristic look... The contrast is perfect! Although, I would love to see this combo in a matte. I would give this a 10!
i had to look this vid up again to comment: I totally agree, this one really knocks it out of the park! Would love to see gun metal grey with pink (or blue to pink) on top!
It’s a 5. I think what makes it kick is using a cool-toned base color like gunmetal with a pearl that is predominantly warm. I think the magic is in the contrast between the cool and warm tones. If someone was looking for more green flash from the pearl but not stray from the idea here, it would be easy to choose a grey with a warmer undertone.
I can see why you, as a colour blind person, absolutely love this. My brother sees most reds and greens as shades of grey and I know he would love this paint job. 5/5 for sure. For me, it's a soft olive punctuated by a flash of amber, very classy, but for my colour blind brother, those amber edges would POP like a fiery sunrise.
This is def a 5. The shift over the cool gray gave it a sage green/gray at the 'edge' and then gold shift is so strong and warm. It's just a gorgeous combo
I didn’t think I’d like it. I don’t much care for gray bases. But the pearl is fantastic. Overall, I’d give it a 4, but now you have me wondering what it would look like over black. Nice combo.
Love, love, love that one! Awesome color! I wish I had time to learn how to do this to my own car. That and some space. Keep up the great videos, love seeing what you guys are coming up with. ✌🏼
Wow! You couldn't have picked a better base coat for this beautiful Olive Honey pearl coat than gunmetal. I just love it , and the black mirror, door handles, wheels, everything...it really looks crisp and so beautifully defined! It just pops...not just a 5...an easy 10!
Looks like a color the military would use if they were cool. Turned out well. I would like to see a red hypershift over this gun metal. Great job once again. Thank you for sharing with us.
Dayum! That looks sick. It would be cool to see it a little more green, almost army green over the gunmetal, but that color right there is beautiful. It's very classy.
I used to work as a painter's helper years ago, and I always loved fooling around with different color combinations with leftovers. Especially the way that dark bases really brought out the "flip tone" characteristics of pearl top coats. This is super cool, almost looks like hypershift!! 5/5!
With the black trim, it looks freaking awesome. I was thinking it wasn't going to look good because I was thinking about it with chrome trim. It's a 10 to me. It's awesome, and I have to give it three. 👍👍👍 It's very impressive indeed, thanks for sharing.
I was reading comments before the end and thought people were overreacting to this color, but this color is perfect for a European luxury car. I love it
Very unique and bold but wouldn't be my first choice personally. I'd love to see other combos with the gun metal perhaps something bit more on blueish side or somethings like battleship gray.
On a vehicle like this it looks fantastic. A very upscale look that's fitting a larger, longer vehicle with sharp lines. It doesn't overpower the gunmetal either which just adds to the upscale look.
Im going thru the DYC video library. I don't often comment but this one I had to. I love it. Its modern yet somehow classic. Id be pleased if my vehicle looked like this
The pearl over the gun metal gray has a nice effect. The issue is the spray technique. The spray was not even through the entire vehicle. the lack of consistency shows in the finished product.
*LOVE surprise colors like this! Rate this one 1-5* ⬇
500 My favorite yet. Thanks for the color ideas!
5 of 5, love the shift from gold to gray.
I like that color I give it a 8.5
5
Oh yeah...that works! 5
This channel is almost literally like watching paint dry. WHY CAN’T I STOP WATCHING IT??!!
I was prepared to be seriously underwhelmed by this combo...but it's actually awesome in an understated, classy way. 5/5
I bet BMW would consider that as an OEM color, it is very handsome on that car.
i vote 10... it's classy, it's sporty, it's traditional, never get tired to look a such cool car painted in a such mix and match combo!
Definitely a 5! Unique enough to stand out, but not “screaming in your face”. I like it a lot!
5/5 Love this color combo! Not to bold, just the right amount. I love gold in any color mix, but this is superb!
You guys make it difficult to set in one color. This definitely is a 5, looks amazing, elegant but sporty at the same time.

5/5 for sure! This is walk off bottom of the 9th world series fresh! Just looks absolutely stunning!!
Rating it an honest 6 out of 5. Love the color combination. Really brings new ideas to the imagination

Wow! That turned out MUCH better than I thought it would! I would love to see an orange variant with the same base. Great job on this one! 5 all day

For sure, one of the most beautifull color combos I've ever seen. Amazing! Congratulations! 5
5 all the way! Absolutely gorgeous! Stunning result!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This color combo is phenomenal top 3 in all the combos I’ve seen from you
5. It's a great subtle color, and the metallic look looks great. I do think it's a very car dependent color though.
This is one of my favorite colors, but IMO you only want to use it with classy designs... almost all BMWs happen to have classy designs, so this worked very well. A 1994 Ford Taurus Wagon is going to look horrible.
@@hxhdfjifzirstc894 used to. Now they lost it

4. It is a very military green-esque vibe. I dig it. I think it would look amazing with the rims, emblems, etc blacked out. just my opinion.
Absolutely stunning! I love it. So very cool! I would love to have a cool car this color some day. Thank you.
5/5 I generally love the more subdued green and gold colors, so this is a definite hit for me. Doesn't quite knock Gloom Green off the throne, but it is VERY close.

This with purple shift rally stripes.

If I had a car worth painting like this, I would absolutely paint it like this.
I love the way this combo turned out!
Damn with all the amazing paint jobs you do, this one is one of my favorites. That is dope
This is def a 5. The shift over the cool gray gave it a sage green/gray at the 'edge' and then gold shift is so strong and warm. It's just a gorgeous combo
I LOVE THAT COLOUR!
I usually don't comment on these, but this is pretty sick. Classy, modern. Low-key, yet definitely a statement. Love it
I didn’t think I’d like it.
Is it possible to give 10 out of 5? Just gorgeous! 😍
thats proper tidy! stands out but not in an aggressive way! love it

Wait, wym IF we were cool?
Lol
So gorgeous! Definitely 5, it takes me on a deep dark whimsical experience, very different! Well done
Olive green/gold has always been a color I love in many different applications. It has a depth and richness that is unique
Easy 5 as this is really good looking and quite unique.....Simply gorgeous!
What a shocker! This color combo looks incredible! Love the gunmetal base coat. Need more of that. And the olive honey......my new fave!
Dayum! That looks sick. It would be cool to see it a little more green, almost army green over the gunmetal, but that color right there is beautiful. It's very classy.

Probably my favorite color combo you’ve ever done. If I had a car I wanted to be dipped, this would be the color.
This is by far my favourite mix of all. LOVE it.. 10 out of 5.
Wow! Looks way better than I anticipated! Definitely a 5 for me!
I didn't think it would look good, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. Looks great.
With the black trim, it looks freaking awesome. I was thinking it wasn't going to look good because I was thinking about it with chrome trim.
It's a 10 to me. It's awesome, and I have to give it three. 👍👍👍 It's very impressive indeed, thanks for sharing.
5... love that initial green then peaks to a gold. Great creation
Lowered f30 with nice wheels, looks perfect, in any color!
From Russia with love!
This might be my favorite one so far, and I've watch dozens of these
I was reading comments before the end and thought people were overreacting to this color, but this color is perfect for a European luxury car. I love it
Very clean and subtle. It fits what it was sprayed on. Not every color has to be flashy. 5/5
It's a 5 for me sir. Awesome. What a great idea. So perfectly executed. It's called Vision. You got it.
5/5 was not expecting the balance in the hues/ saturation between gun metalgrey and the pigments used. Im impressed.
Very classy!! That color is beautiful! 😮🔥
Man I could watch you mix the paint all day. It's like liquid silk
I'm 5 times in love you nailed it with this combo it's perfect
1000/5. it’s giving shiny army-camo green, and it looks badass but also kinda classy, i love it.
I want that on everything!! Wow!! 5/5 for sure!!! This is IMO the best paint you’ve ever done!!
I'd prefer a brighter tone of green, but the gold reflections look great.
its a big 5..... well done.
Seriously love the way it fades in.
That's spot on, great choice of base coats.....
Definite 5 on the color combo Olive pearl over gunmetal!
You hit the jackpot. It looks fabulous. Well done.
Absolutely love it! Pearls really pop
Oohhh wow 😯 ,😮😮really very nice colour , super look beautiful 💐💐💐💐congratulations to the painter excellent job
I was surprised turned out better then I thought, I’d definitely give it a 5 looks classy but sporty as well. Fonzie you did a good job👍

Didn't expect it to look that good it's actually turned out pretty nice........nice job
Definitely a 5. Love the color. It's awesome.
Love the color.....do you spray clear after the paint?
Very unique and bold but wouldn't be my first choice personally. I'd love to see other combos with the gun metal perhaps something bit more on blueish side or somethings like battleship gray.
5 really is a great color played off base perfectly kinda turned to kaki green undertone, gorgeous
5/5 It’s pretty and unique while still being more subtle.
Amazing. Would love to see this base with a blueish-purple shift in the same subtle effect
5 ...really accentuates the body lines. sweet color.
100 %fine ......nice job keep it up.....such a excellent mix ....🔥🔥👍💪
5/5 love it! It reminds me of an eyeshadow color I had years ago that was one of my favorite colors!
Beautiful. I had an Iridescent suit that color in the 60"s
On a vehicle like this it looks fantastic. A very upscale look that's fitting a larger, longer vehicle with sharp lines. It doesn't overpower the gunmetal either which just adds to the upscale look.
May be the best one I've seen y'all do. Amazing 5/5
Beautiful.
Would love to see the same thing with a good splash of heavy dark moss green thrown in with it.
Making twice as dark.
I would absolutely love to drive that car with that color. Well done. I give it a 5.
I would love the finished colour to come out just the same as when you are stirring it up in the beaker 2:06 like smoke waves.🍻
That's one nice paint job! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'd love to see those flakes on dark brown chocolate paint!
Looks AWESOME…very exotic, you gotta love it‼️
Damn! That’s another unbelievable mind blowing colors!!! I honestly have to give this a 5 out of 5!!!
OMG! IT LOOKS DIFFERENT BUT REALLY GOOD.
Brilliant colour ❤ loved it ❤
Awesome!! Love that color I think it’s my favorite color so far that I’ve seen y’all do I rated as a 6.
Im going thru the DYC video library. I don't often comment but this one I had to. I love it. Its modern yet somehow classic. Id be pleased if my vehicle looked like this
A solid 5 - it's stunning!
Rád koukám na Vaše videa. Ty barvy jsou úžasný!!! 🙋♂️🇨🇿
The pearl over the gun metal gray has a nice effect. The issue is the spray technique. The spray was not even through the entire vehicle. the lack of consistency shows in the finished product.
It’s like an army green with a gold flare 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
